Title: What type of plants will you make?
Mr Cheese - January 28, 2007 11:23 AM (GMT)
As soon as I heard that you could design the plants, I became obsessed. Since that announcement was made, they haven't even brushed over it. If it is anything near as good as the other editors, I'm going to have loads of fun. I was thinking of an inside-out tree. There are a bunch of trunks in a circle that curve into the centre, then branches and leaves grow down from the centre. Anyone got any more ideas?
Jonat - January 28, 2007 09:21 PM (GMT)
Neat, i got a couple ideas, but nothing solid.
That insideout tree sounds cool. Got any names for it?
Mr Cheese - January 29, 2007 10:09 AM (GMT)
How about the Gobab tree?
Jonat - January 29, 2007 04:50 PM (GMT)
Mr Cheese - January 30, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
That would make for some interesting gameplay...
Dragonspore - February 2, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
an outworldly tree that i can't think of yet...
ilikepie - February 2, 2007 08:31 PM (GMT)
a tree the that grows up side down on flaoting peices of the planet and has this big flower on it thats edible but when it opens a small planet like seed comes out and it floats and after about 5 monthis it explodes and the small parts of it fly to fertile ground and plant themsleves
Mr Cheese - February 3, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
How about a ground cover, like grass except the blades are leaf-shaped.
Dragonspore - February 3, 2007 06:07 AM (GMT)
or circular leaves that lie on the ground with long things coming out of them! :D

will it be freindly?
you could name your inside out tree an Eert Tree :P
lemme think of something, but i do have a fondness for mushrooms :P
and did you just hear that you could make plants?
ilikepie - February 16, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
A giant blue mushroom wish eats meat but under the head of it theres these circles that come in dfifrent color depending on what biome it is in and when prey is under it a insect like creature come down and garbs the prey and brings it it back up

can you build houses in it..lolz, mushroom elves!!!
i'l make floating trees like castle in the sky, and a windmill tree, and giant forest trees.
Mr Cheese - February 17, 2007 03:53 AM (GMT)
I like the windmill tree idea! Will the blades be leaves or branches?
guru42 - February 17, 2007 04:27 AM (GMT)
Helicoptor plants! instead of seeding, they would just fly around to find fertile soil and live forever!
ilikepie - February 17, 2007 07:35 AM (GMT)
flying Spinning blade plants that get the energy form the blood from the prey they slice up

i like the flying spining plants idea...

Mr Cheese - February 18, 2007 10:56 AM (GMT)
What about a carnivorous plant that uses fruit as a lure, then eats the helpless herbivore! Sorta like a plant form of those dangly-light fish.

it's called an angler fish.
That big blue mushroom thing sounds cool, but i'm sure something would be resistant to it's posion, like an insect that makes it's home and eats it from the inside. What better protection is there?

angler plant!(and i think he already knew it's called an angler fish, but he coulden't find the right words...)
how about a type of seaweed that can move it's leaves like tenticals and move through the water...

See this plant is when the planet fisrt start outs but yet nothing is resistant to its posin
Mr Cheese - February 20, 2007 05:36 AM (GMT)
How about a tree that grows sideways. The roots go down into the soil but the trunk and branches grow along the ground.
guru42 - February 20, 2007 05:38 AM (GMT)
hehe, if plants could become intelligent, that one could grow over a whole planet and rule it forever. then again that might not be so intelligent. oh well, I still think its a cool idea.

Mr Cheese - February 21, 2007 05:44 AM (GMT)
That would be me, but I'll do that in the creature editor. What about those vines with propellors from Donkey Kong 64?
