Title: Bad News Spore Fans

Ace - August 9, 2006 09:52 PM (GMT)
You heard me correctly. The dark clouds are gathering. GameSpot released an interview with Will Wright today that was chalk full of interesting tidbits. You can read it by clicking here.

But the real bad news comes from the release date - Will guestimated a release of LATE NEXT YEAR! ANOTHER YEAR!

I'd have to say this does not sound good. <_<

SporeFox - August 10, 2006 12:19 AM (GMT)

Ah man. Too bad for us :(

If you read the comments under the article, it's quite obvious that the majority of forum users on GameSport are retarded trolls.

SporeFox: CALM DOWN!

Keys - August 10, 2006 04:38 AM (GMT)
A late release, eh? I can manage.

So long as the game comes out perfect and holds my interest for time and time to come...

WW: We're going to be at Leipzig. We'll have [Spore] on the floor so that people can actually come up and experiment with it. We'll be doing demos. [Editor's note: According to EA, Wright himself will be present on the floor, giving demonstrations in person.]

awwww :(

he's right...one of the guy insulted the whole middle east...and half of their posts don't have anything to do with spore...

SporeFan09 - September 20, 2006 03:32 AM (GMT)
Will Wright....in person.....I'm going to Leizpeg. ;) Though, it would be VERY cool to see him, and view the demos, but......another year!! Though if you read it, he might be doing a good thing, by saying '2nd half of 2007" people won't be disappointed when it becomes official, BUT, if the game is finihsed before that, people will be even happier, because the game came out earlier than anticipated. (that might be alittle confusing, just to let you know, I'm kinda confused as well) :P

CoffeeFreak4Life - September 23, 2006 09:14 AM (GMT)
Ok if you honestly beleive education gets in the way i pity you. it should be top priority in your life. Let me give you he breakdown

Low Education= Low wages
Low Wages=Harder to suport yourself (Cost of living bills insurance taxes etc)
Harder to suport yourself = 2ND job (or high Stress)
2nd job = Stress
Stress= lesser imune system
Bad imune system=Hospital visits
Hospital visits=Medical bills
Medical bills =needing more money
Needing more money=Loans
Need i go on?

SporeFox - September 23, 2006 02:02 PM (GMT)
i said that i already kbow every thing they're teaching me...exept for in life science and pre algebra..

Keys - September 23, 2006 07:06 PM (GMT)
what most people don't realzie is there isn't just the education you recieve from schools. Theres the stuff you learn on your own. I'm always told i'm very intelligent by the way i speak(information wise) and how i seem to know alot of stuff about so many random subjects. I 'don't have all my eggs in one basket' so to speak. I don't know an abundance of Science, but little on History. I know quite a bit about almost everything and none of it (alright, thats a lie.. some of it was..) was learned in schools. I've learned probably about 85% of what i know aside from reading/writing from personal experience. For some people this is also the case. I feel like my school years were partly wasted. However society pretty much bans you to low forms of work unless you have a special degree that says you passed all forms of education available to you (IE High School, College, elementary/primary, K-12, etc etc). So its not so much that education from schools is important (Because in parts of the US here, they're still using science books from the 50's. You can only teach a certain number of generations the same thing before they get bored of it) its the sociological presence, or need for the school education to be happy in this world.
Its a rather unfair system.

But the topic of this thread is the delays and release of Spore. Not education. So lets move on. We don't need quasi-political debates about education in forums dedicated to a game about evolution and cells.

SporeFox - September 23, 2006 08:34 PM (GMT)
i know half the stuff i know, because i'm the kid that reads the most in our school...i read walking down the hall ways, in the bus, in the car, for most of my classes....lol...people make fun of me for it!

does the wise man know the other knows not? Or the wise him himself believes he knows not what others believe he does? :)

Ace - September 28, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
As interesting as the topic of educations is, we should probably get back on topic... ;)

(However, the quote I know is "The wise man doth think himself a fool, while the fool doth think himself wise.")

Keys - September 29, 2006 02:20 AM (GMT)
ah so wise masta!

I don't know. Something about how Spore was delayed till early summer or something.

Keys - October 2, 2006 04:59 AM (GMT)
Is it just me, or does that seem like its coming up pretty dang fast? Already some stores are putting out christmas stuffs for the holidays. To think, About 10months to a year ago we were all waiting for its arrival this christmas. Now we're waiting until summer when it should have a final release date for.. This is going by quickly. before we know it, the game will be firmly in our hands!

Yep...only a matter of time before it's in our hands. Then we'll finally have Will Wright's genius craft in our hands.

Keys - October 9, 2006 10:41 PM (GMT)

you and I are alike in that respect. I can't tell you how many Jobs i've been fired from because i spoke up against unfairness.

SporeFox - October 13, 2006 08:28 PM (GMT)
dang, don't people have the right to protest??...((studying american histery in gifted))

Keys - November 13, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
We do hold the right, but your employer also has the right to fire you whenever he/she wants, and when its a dictatorial employer they will not hesitate to release you on terms of "Insubordination towards superiors"

kay:

Employee: i like pie

Employer: i don't like pie, you're fired

SporeFox: can you do that?

Employer: you're fired for protesting

Other Person:...

Employer: you're fired for not saying anything

Other Person: I don't even work for you...

Employer: yeah, i know, i just fired you

Other Person: I never worked for you

Employer: kay, you're hired

New Employee: why?

Employer: so i can fire you. you're fired.

new employee who just got fired and is also known as "Other Person": okaaay...

SporeFox: leaves. And that was our exclusive interveiw with some idiot boss...

Employer: YOU'RE FIRED FOR CALLING ME AN IDIOT!!!
*end transmision*

SporeF-oh, yeah, done with that...well that was cheesey, but it was fun too write...can an employer do that?

Jonat - November 16, 2006 02:57 PM (GMT)
Actually there has to be legal grounds for an employer to fire an employee..

Ie, you can't fire someone because of; age, sex, colour, religion, belief (and such).

You could fire someone for sensible stuff on the spot: Stealing, vandalism, not working, violence...

So, if the employee thinks he's been fired wrongly, i suppose he could take the now ex-employer to court. (Which usually pursaudes them to rehire you and say sorry, since they usually don't want to be in that kind of limelight - plus the risk of loosing.)

Don't always work, though. ;)

Keys - November 17, 2006 02:18 AM (GMT)
So long as it has nothing to do with you in the way of religion, gender, color, and age (abiding you are at the working age) they are able to release you from your job with little to no reason. For all you know the business could be suffering and if thats what they want to let you go for, then that is possible. Minor disagreements however like the example sporefox provided cannot however, that is grounds of belief which Jonat pointed out cannot get you fired. but Employeers have their ways of getting around the laws to fire someone if they really wanted to. <_< ah.. corruption in society.
