Title: Can I have some advice on next-gen systems?
Description: What to buy. . .

Strabo - June 20, 2006 05:05 PM (GMT)
Right now, I will probably spend my money from my summer job on an Xbox 360 and a bunch of accessories. However, if an Animal Crossing game comes out for the Wii, I will probably get a Wii60.

What do you guys think I should do? Stick with one system and pimp it out, or get two systems but have less for each? I really liked the Animal Crossing for the GameCube, so it's an idea for me.

If I don't get the Wii60 or just the Xbox360, I might get the PS3, but right now it's too expensive for my blood. If Blu-ray becomes popular between now and September (when I'm gonna be a Sophomore. Yay not Freshmen anymore!) I'll probably get it for the blu-ray capabilities.

i'd say PS3 or Wii

All of them look very tempting. The only thing that hasn't tempted me, actually, is the PS3. Well...it has. But not as much as the Wii or the 360. For some reason, I just think Microsoft and Nintendo have the edge right now...there have been delays on the PS3.

I'm going to be working this summer and I'm hoping to get enough money to buy a 360. I'm leaning towards that console, though I'm not so sure why. The Wii also looks tempting, but I can see my parents buying all of us kids that for Christmas...

I dunno. They all look REALLY good...and the PS3 is betting a lot on Blu-Ray. It could be an excellent choice to go with that one, considering the fact that Blu-Ray is just emerging and the other console will lack that (and you know how many years it takes to get another console out).

If I got a 360, it'd be for the Halo games, and Grand Theft Auto.

If I got a Wii, it'd be for Animal Crossing and Super Smash Bros.

If I got a PS3, it'd be for the Blu-Ray, PSP connectivity, upgradeability (Yay I can customize my console) and the huge amount of RPG's that come to the PlayStations only. . .

Sigh, the poor GameCube owners got the shaft in the last round of consoles. All those crappy ports. What do we get? Yay, Luigi's Mansion. . . 'nuff said.

If I could, I'd get all three. (But I'd also get a $10,000 Falcon NorthWest Laptop, a 56" plasma, a 500 gallon aquarium, and a Porsche Carrera GT. If I could, of course).

Hey Ace, if you had a normal title, (like the rest of us had), what would it say? Galaxy-ruling civilization? SporeForums hermit?

Hmm...the highest current rank. I don't remember what it is...I'd have to go check.

The PS3 is far too expensive, but it does have some excellent things - the PSP connectablility would be pretty cool, though as of yet I have no clue what is does. Have they really explained it yet?

i'm not a big fan of X Box...big fan of nintendo and the Pc...playstation's okay(as in the control...if it was a graphics compitition, the playstations would win...

Ace - July 4, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
You can only expect the graphics to take a DRASTIC leap with the PS3...you have to remember that it will be using Blu-Rays that have more memory which equals better graphics (and longer games).

I think I'll get a PS3 after I wait awhile because there are usually some problems with new systems when they first come out. The price isn't really that much of a problem this year, as the berry fields are plentiful, and workers are in high demand. :) w00t

GAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH i like nintendo games more that most ps games, but i hate the wii controller, but i like the ps3 controller, but don't know how to control it (idiotic double joysticks), and ps3 has better graphics, but wii has decent graphics, too...

i donknow whattodo, i donknow whattodo, i donknow whattodo, i donknow whattodo, i donknow whattodo...

The GameCube controller has two joysticks. Why are they called "joysticks?" Are we supposed to get joy from using them. . . whatever.

It's easy to get used to. I think that Blu-ray will win the format battle because of the PS3 requiring people to use it for games. Also, the PS3 can be used as a blu-ray player that happens to be $500 cheaper than the normal blu-ray players.

well, i'm not counting the c stick because in half of the games you don't use it...and its not a main joysick. what im talking about is while you're walking(in the game) you have to use one joystick to move, and one to look around, you can't just press a button and make the camera go behind you, you have to get it at the right angle with joysick. you can use a c sick the same way, but it snAps back to the angle you were at before when you're done using it...

The C stick is annoying. Its hard for me to grip it

On a side note, have you noticed that the forums have been rather empty recently? It seems like it's only me and you, Sporefox. Maybe it's just me, but it's afully quiet around here.

oh, come on, cstick's just as easy as the joysick, it's just smaller...
