Title: Has anyone played Space Empires 4?
Description: A completely underappreciated game.

Does anyone else play Space Empires IV? I've wanted to discuss the game with another person who plays it, but i'm too lazy to find a forum for it (and besides, all the people on any SE IV forum would probably ignore my noobishness).

The game is quite fun if you have the full version, but the demo version sucks. . . the demo is pretty limited, and you can't get the best ships.

The best part about SE IV is that you design and create your own ships. You choose from a class size, and add cargo bays, life support, fighter bays, sattelite bays, weapons, supplies, colonising platforms. . . you name it, they have it (if they don't, you can probably find a mod somewhere that does).

However, the website (http://www.malfador.com), is updated VERY rarely. The sequel, SE V, is coming out sometime in June. Hopefully.

The graphics suck, but the gameplay is what counts (it's good).

BTW (By The Way), don't make your only weapons missiles, or you will end up very dead, as anti-missile guns are small, cheap, and highly accurate.

You do know this topic won't get far, only a handful know of this game. :D

Meh. . . It's too bad, really. It's a good game.

A game? Then shouldn't this be in the Non-Sim Games board?

Yes, it should be.

What is Space Empires 4

It's this turn based strategy game. You control an empire and you colonize planets, then build ships (you even get to design them) to destroy your enemies.

Its a lot of fun. Try out the demo at malfador.com

The sequel to it is coming out sometime. Malfador says its coming in June, but Strategy First (the publisher) says its coming in '07. So, go figure.
