this game is looking really good
ive watched the spore video about 5 times now

and yes the lionhead forums do exist and i used to be and the movies was a slight let down for me ( many things that made it good were taken out to make it simple enough for anyone) i waited a year silently and 2 months on the forums for it
dont get me wrong the movies was good but spore looks even better
im just so interested in the whole cell in the puddle of water to galactic master concept
also the character customisation looks like nothing ever done

See, what I realy wanted in the movies was some way to actually pose the models, then have them move into those poses. That would be FAR more versitile.

I've watched Will's speach (the full hour) like, 10 times. So much, i'm allmost bored of it...

yes he mention procedural about a thousand times
but he makes some valid points
evfen if they have little to do with spore

Yeah. Like pokemon vs dinosaurs :P

the most interesting thing i think he said was about how double the new content doesnt equal double the entertainment value
how giving the players the tools intergrated into games to make rhe new content

not even close! :P

hey everyone

im just discussing what extra can be found in the full 1 hour video of the GDC


i was also saying how in depth the video ( just the spore parts)
most games like the movies ( which i will contiually refer to because i was part of the lionhead pre release community ,sorry in advance)

ofer ok videos showing you small unnesicary parts of the game or even worse
TRAILERS!
the movies used a clever tactic of showing the movies made with the movies instead of showing the game , and what i though ( for a year) would be an in depth extremly flexible game, turned out to be a repetitive program where the same scenes werew used over and ovewr again

so seeing a video like the spore video sorta restores my faith in good games

hey spore welcome to the fourms...

i thought i'd just say how i can be of use to this community

well i know a lot about computers ( customs builds specs , how to check your spec sand so on my pc is infact a custom build )

for example my pc spec isa

custom build
3ghz pentium 4 640 skt775 with HT and 2meg cache
i have 1gig DDR 400 ram ( 2x 512 DDR 400)
radeon 9250 with 256meg memory and a 400mhz gpu
a 160gig hard drive capacity ( 40gig + 120gig HDD)
cd-rw and a DVD rom
i also have all my manuals so i know how to upgrade almost instantly
long story short i know pc's
so if theres any kind of tech help needed ( with components) i can probably make some recomendations

some other things that might be of use are

I was a long time lionhead boards member i was waiting for the release of "the movies" so i know what to and what not to ask really

and i used to play SWG so i know how things can go wrong if you dont listen to a coomunity if you are a game developer
whats positive is that WW does seem to be slowly answering questions whereas lionhead used to just answer with " you will just have to wait and see" and ended up missing out factors in the games they make
