This, if done well, would be an awsome extra in the game:
For those who don't know, metaballs are basicly 3D shapes that attach to any other metaballs close to them, giving a water droplette type effect
An ExampleSourceBasicly, you would be able to add theese to your creature, limit theyre movement and what not, and you could have a liquid style creature! GENIUS!
Theese would probably be best implemented in the bacteria stage, for a blob feel...

i wouldn't be suprised if will added this in but i wouldn't put money down on it.
So far there has been no option to change the physics or.. physical properties of your creature, but again.. the game is a shy less of a year to go from launch so theres alot of time left for them to add it into the game.
It would be interesting though. a super intelligent form of 'The Blob' with spaceships and bio-genetic technology lol.

i wonder if you could make something with just arms that walks around on its hands. something like the green thing on the cover of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
