Here are some first glimpses at the game:


You start out as a single celled organism that must try and survive from the evil brown cells.


Once you make your way out of single-celled, you can create creatures.


Here is a picture of some of the different creatures you can create. All creatures are custom made...much like the Sims 2.


You can eventually start hunting prey to get food.


Here is a city that Will Wright made. It's got the "Dr. Suess" look to it. Other cities controlled by the computer spring up to introduce city/clan rivalry.

Neat looking pictures Ace (I love those creatures :D )....I actually might have to try this game out. It sounds alot like the game "Black And White".

What exactly what "Black and White" about? I've heard the name, but I never knew what it was about.

Well, you were this big hand thing (the God actually) and you had to take care of your worshippers. The thing is, you could choose weather to be good or evil.

You could choose to do a bunch of different things as this giant hand God. You could throw the villagers around, you could gather trees for wood, assign the villagers to build or gather crop from the fields....you could train your giant pet :P It was a really great game.

Hmm...some people said Black and White wasn't that great of a game. But it sounds pretty fun to me.

it looks like its going to be a cool game, i havent really heard much about it, but i'm sure i will now i've signed up here.
i like the idea of being able to customise the creatures.

It's gonna be awesome the fact that you can create a creature any way you want is gonna be reason enough. Knowing me ill make a Hydra with heads on all sides

Haha! Make sure when you make that hydra you put it online. I'd like to download it for one of my rival nations! ;)

:angry: I'll have to wait til my Dad gets the new computer. This computer if you open three windows it crashes...

A hydra would be really neat to have in the game.

Maybe it could be one of those hydras that every time you cut off a head it grows two more...that would be wicked awesome. :P

yea its a good one but the clay models of the creatures is my fave because it gives you an idea of the things that can be made and ideas of what you might want to make.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. You can create ANYTHING...this is going to be even more veristile than the Sims 2...and the Sims 2 is pretty customizable.

Good pictures :D I wonder? if the brown organisms ate the green instead would they then become the master race?

But the problem is that you control the green little cells...so if you're eaten, I suppose you'll have to start over again.

Wow, the models one was very cool, I recognise some of the creatures from the demo.

Shame Spore is going through a dry spell info wise, I'ld like to see more great pics.

you know in the gdc video he said that there could be Tens of thousands of creatures on the disk whos gonna create all thoose creatures?

Well, I would suppose a great deal of those would be "molds" - or rather, a starting point for the animal you want to create. Any fully finished creatures (if any - and of course, they would also be moldable) would probably be done by a computer - a few would be Maxis made - but I'm sure a computer makes many of them.

lol i can just imagine the enitire maxis party making spore takeing an entire day just to make spore creatures lol :lol:

The game is shaping up to be impressive, and I like the styling of the graphics. Really cool.

well probabley not but im sure from concept alot of ppl said it couldnt be done even though itwouldbe cool.

yeah i love the idea and i did not think it was possible, but they went passed my expectations when i heard they were acually making it
