As for the topic;

1) Unfortunately, ever country does this. The flag is the symbol of the nation. The name without words to describe the nation. Many times the flags bear meaning to something in the countries' history or system. It is common to regularly fly your countries' flag wherever you can. Unless you're in South California. Then it's the Mexican flag and the US flag up-side down.

2) This one, while somewhat forgivable does have a place for the US. The government regularly monitors phone calls, text messages, and so on. Security nearly everywhere is through the roof. The reason? Various. The biggest. "Terrorism."

3) Most every country does this. Your population will not go to war unless they have a reason to. If a leader calls out "Go to war with China!" No one is really going to get up and charge to war. But if there were to say... "China has bombed our primary harbors, killing thousands of your fellow patriots!" then they're going to get up and go to war.

4) Okay, while most countries do tend to put a lot into the military.. the US, especially recently really has dumped the entire treasury into the military.

5) There is Sexism in the United States Government, but it's not rampant. There are congresswomen and officials who are female. However, no president yet of course. Though Hilary came close.
Though, Homophobia and all that listed are true for the US.

6) Whether or not you think so or not. The US media IS controlled by the government. When 9/11 struck, the government confiscated several hours worth of footage of the attacks on the Twin Towers from nearby offices and news offices, as well the US government had controlled and altered the Mass Media during the Cold War.

7) It wasn't always this way. But more recently, yes.

8) Heavily. Religion and the United States government are heavily intertwined. Almost every president has been White upper class and Christian with a wife. The "Idealic American Family." Unfortunately, religion does like to dip it's hand into the government here in the US.

9) It is, and there are more theories about the government wiping out the ENRON files and other corporate fraud files in the Twin Tower attacks, as the files were stored there and ONLY there. Which is outside of bureaucratic policy.

13) Unfortunately this could very well be true. With Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and so on all being "close" friends and somehow managed to run the country the way they did without getting impeachment, or interference from other stages of the government such as HoR, and Congress.
