I thinking about holding a few contests. For now, I would like to get some suggestions or feedback about this.

Some contests in consideration (all contests are in 'codename' as they have no official name yet):

Codename: Across the Galaxy: A contest and/or project. Members would tell their friends about ::Spore:: Forums, get them to register and post (they would have to meet a specific number of posts). For each member that gets these new members to post would get a point. Either everyone that gets two members or more would get a permanent custom rank or the person with the MOST points would get a permanent one and everyone that got at least one member would get a temp. rank.

Codename: Psychic Creatures: Members would place a bet on the release date. Once the date is officially annouced, the person with the closest guess would win. Prize currently unknown.

Codename: Lord of Laughs: This idea goes along with an article system I'm planning. Members could submit articles to a subforum that would be read by the public. They could be about Spore or happenings in the ::Spore:: Forum community. The funniest one wins. Prize could be a temporary rank and/or blinkie.

Codename: Intergalactic Shakespeare: Also regarding the article system. Members who write a GREAT article about Spore (regarding a feature or such). Prize would be the same as the one in the contest above.

Codename: Snapshot of Saturn: The member who creates the BEST Spore related graphic wins. This could be a banner for this site, a picture of a creature you would like to create, or something else along those lines. Winner gets temp rank and/or blinkie.

So what do you guys think? Like some of them? All of them? Do some need to be amended in a certain way?

i like the one where you have to guess the date. at least evreyone is on a level playing feild there.

I really like all of the contests, they are all very creative! The only one I couldn't do is across the galaxy. I can't get my own friends to join my sites, never mind someone else's. The only site I ever got someone else to join was a neopets site, and that was my little cousin. I have your site posted in my sig on other sites, sorry but that's the best I can do :lol:

I like the release date one, and the Lord of Laughs one too. ^_^

I like the Psychic Creatures one the best and Lord of Laughs sounds pretty cool too. Like Rein says I have a hard enough time getting any members to join my forum. lol But I do try to put in a good word every time I run across a topic on your forum. ;)

Psychic Creatures due to "popular demand". I'll have a contests forum up very soon (it will be found as a subforum in the members section).
