Lol very cool Coffee!
some Screenies of the creatures i've made.
I apologize about the quality. While this laptop runs Spore smoothly... for some reason, despite selecting the settings to HIGH on all settings, it runs them at medium-low. I dunno why that is, even with trying to force settings. Ah well!
Jae'Toh-Li (or "Jee-toe")
A fungus monster if you will. While being partially related (gene-wise) to the Spider. It is entirely different. Spending most of it's life in underground caves warmed by the overly active volcanic planet. It consumes mostly the fungi growing within the cave around it. However, it has been known to devour small creatures and in desperate situations. It's own kind.
A large growth of a rock-like fungus develops on most of the species' backs. The fungus itself is unique in that it determines the creature's social boundries as far as Alpha vs Beta. The larger and more dense/complex the fungi formation. The higher you are in the basic hierarchy.

The HabiscotisA small Mammal creature with an odd evolution for mammals. The mouth. Which is a three ended pincher. Most everything about this creature is devoted to camouflage. It's green body is covered in a grass-like hair, and it's colors resemble that of it's home planet's grassy plains.
The long trunk to which it's mouth is attached is evolved such as to allow the Habiscotis to reach into the small burrow of it's common Prey and thus pull out a tasty meal.
As their attitude goes. They are generally skiddish, but will not hesitate to attack if you were to be picnicking with a ham sandwich or provoking it.

--
The WortGreenA fairly good sized creature that resides on the same planet as the Habiscotis. However, unlike the Habiscotis, the Wortgreen is rather temperamental and has the intelligence equivalent to that of your standard rock. They're nearly tribe-like in their social structure. Making use of very basic tools and have a basic form of communication. However, due to their intelligence, it'll be some centuries if not millenniums before anything of this species developes.

--
The KliknikThe Kliknik are as close to Earth insects as you're going to get. Except... gigantic. The average kliknik is the size of a American Brown Bear but with an even worse attitude towards strangers.
They're named so because of the distinct clicking sound they produce wandering through their underground Hive. Using this 'Click' they both identify intruders vs Clan-mates, and as well find their way around as the Kliknik are blind. Showcasing two mouths and two ears. Each with their own purpose. One set of mouth/Antennae are for eco-location, the other pair for identifying who's who.
Their creature structure is very similar to your average and colony. One Queen, many drones.

Keys - July 1, 2008 01:39 AM (GMT)
Not always though! If you don't put wings on them they kinda drag across the floor.. at least in my creator.
Keys - July 23, 2008 09:13 AM (GMT)
Righto- Well, got the creature creator back up and running and now it's on the new PC! Which means awesome graphics!
So here we go;
The TobazThe Tobaz are an odd species of Lizard. Adapted for their habitat.. Their long snout is used to pry it's way into the small burrows of it's common prey and pull out a morsel or two. It's eyes protrude for reasons evolutionary scientists have yet to figure out, but are bound to serve some sort of purpose. Their temperaments are fairly sporadic and hostile against most outside of their own species, showing Their diet to be of a carnivore variety. While they live primarily in the swampy areas of their planet, they have been found in some other locations other than their native swamps.
The NoculousThe Noculous are a fairly tall span of creatures with an appetite that would be expected from the worst of the worst. They primarily eat the dead and rotting on both.. meat and plant sides of the spectrum. carrying an odor to match. Some have said their skin resembles that of an old burnt carcass and with a smell to match.. they have sometimes been called "The Noxious dead." While vital on their home planet for waste management (much like Maggots are on Earth.) They are generally despised and avoided by forms of life carrying both eyes and noses.
The VerianThe Verian are a combination of avians and rodents.. Scientists have yet to figure out where along the planet's evolutionary time scale this creature had come to be... and how..
The creature itself is very curious and playful in nature. Sporting a variety of colors from the areas across the planet's surface. Many sentient species sporting the funds to make the trek to the Verian's home planet have adopted them as pets. A sort of.. lavash pet for the luxurious. Some worlds, they have become to stand as a symbol of status and wealth.
While primarily harmless, they can be destructive. Chewing newspapers and the occasional homework. They are no bigger and taller than your average Human on Earth.
The ArdkardThe Ardkard are it's native planet's version of Earth's swine. They are dirt dwellers and provide a valuable source of meats and food for the intelligent species on the planet. They are fairly docile when tamed, however wild they can be territorial and aggressive. They are rumored to taste quite delicious grilled to a medium rare and served with a side of grape jelly.
EVOLUTION TIME!So seeing as we don't have the game yet.. I still wanted to make a creature and evolve him/her from basic critter to intelligent species. So here's my first attempt at a creature i have found myself fond of;
The Zapax (Zap'ex)
The Zapax are a very docile species carrying ties between both the Mammal and avian kingdoms. They are highly intelligent creatures and are very inquisitive in nature, making use of tools and objects about their daily lives. Their colors are vibrant to reflect that of the surrounding forest in which they live in, it is also known that the colors have a key role in the mating practices. (Such as with the Tucan)
Their evolution;
Stage 1

Stage 2

Stage 3 (Final)
