It has come to my attention recently that a number of forums have been using our user group symbols (the crowns. etc.), or slightly modified versions of them without asking permission from us.

I want to be clear, that you are not allowed to do this. These images are copyright of RSM, and they cannot be used elsewhere without our permission. It is the same principal as ripping. If anyone catches another site using these icons, please reply to this topic and we will take appropriate action.

What's strange is, I dunno if it's just me, but do every single forum we contact about it say that they found it ages ago, and that our forum could have ripped it, and that there are no copyrights for them? I swear those three arguments have been used in all the latest ripping cases (of the crowns) that i've seen.

Yeah, but I believe they're under the impression that you need to do paperwork and sign for it or some junk, they want like written proof. Which no one would bother getting, because it'd cost too much, but yeah. They're just looking for ways to make it harder for us to force them to change it.

Usually invisionfree is great about this kind of stuff, just contact them, tell them what sites are ripping and they'll contact the site owner, and if they don't listen, they'll take down the site, usually
