Wow
If thats true then its impressive but I don't believe the test was done right. I've seen the results at work from making bullet shields for light fixtures. They used 2 sheets of 1/2" thick Lexan seperate with a 1/4" air gap. The shields were shot with .22, .38, .357, and .44 caliber rounds of various bullet types from a distance of 25yds. Only the .357 and .44 made it completely through. The ballistics of a .40 caliber and the .357 are similar.

The goggle lens has nowhere near near that strength. My guess is the lens shape and the way it was anchored allowed it to flex and deflect the bullet rather than really stopping it.

If it really did stop it, then thats impressive!

Still that is no substitute for keeping a paintball gun chronoed. I saw a mask where the hard shell was broken by a gun shooting hot. When you are at the field periodicaly chrono especially in weather when the temperature is changing or you are using CO2.
