There is a Red Roof Inn nearby.. wayne says it's 15-30 minutes away.

Splatmaster - September 29, 2007 06:08 PM (GMT)
There are dozens of Hotels around exit 125. The Red Roof Inn is usually the cheapest of the bunch. Google says it's 26 minutes from Command Decision.

There's also resturants scattered between the 2 places, plus food served at the field by one of the local churches, and possibly other vendors. And don't forget Firebonz, the nearly official post-game game eating establishment of LOF scenario teams (and who usually caters the anniversary)

There will also be camping at the field.

Registration will open Monday at Scenario Supply. Remember to sign up for the 11th Cav, 2nd Squad. If it doesn't let you specify which squad, specify in the comments section.

Also, specify in the comments if you are with LOF's Section 8 (There's several teams named Section 8), 1337, or from Line of Fire so LeeAnn can keep us together.

We are planning a field walk for either the 27th or 28th of October so we can scope the changes made to our area of operations, make improvments, and pow wow with the high command, Shawn of Bravo 2-0. Once I know the exact date, I'll pass that on.

Splatmaster - October 11, 2007 11:49 PM (GMT)
We will be doing work on the field on the 27th. We will be building bunkers and making changes to our area of responsibility.

I would like to get anyone who can't make it on the 27th to come out on the 28th so I can give ya'll the $5 tour and briefing.

And, as it turns out, I am commanding the ENTIRE 11th cav.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!!!

Gesani - October 12, 2007 03:10 AM (GMT)
If you want to go on the 28th let me know.. that is the day i plan on going. Just have to set up a time and a meeting place and we can carpool

SAPPER69 - October 12, 2007 05:36 AM (GMT)
You didnt know Jester? Paintballers cant take showers from the day before a game till after the games are over. The smell of soap gives you away to the enemy!

Jesterxxx - October 12, 2007 12:53 PM (GMT)
thats my plan... I am going to smell so clean I wont have to move and all the suckers will be coming to me! :D

Splatmaster - October 12, 2007 11:32 PM (GMT)
Tourny boys may need to shower during a weekend game. but not us scenario men. We're tough. ;)

AHH SPIDER! KILL IT! KILL IT!

Anyway, as I was saying, we're tough. We can still play when we're filthy. It helps us blend in.

But, for those who do need a shower.. there will be cold showers available.

Jesterxxx - October 13, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
I have done my time in the dirt.... I have developed a fondness for hot water over the years :D

SAPPER69 - October 13, 2007 05:24 AM (GMT)
nothing like standing beside a 5-ton dump truck and haveing someone pour water from a 5 gal. can so you can shower in 20 deg. weather right jester?

Jesterxxx - October 13, 2007 01:33 PM (GMT)
Hah... I woulda given anything for the dump truck... Although we did have those gas water heater things from time to time.

Splatmaster - October 14, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
Don't forget to Pre-Register.

Any idea who else is going?

SAPPER69 - October 15, 2007 03:43 PM (GMT)
Imersion Heaters are for doing dishes when you have KP in the field, not showering with! AIRBORNE!

Gesani - October 18, 2007 12:51 AM (GMT)
Just got the confirmation on my registration..

Just a Reminder the NATO field work day is the 27th.. if you wish to go help clean the field and make a walk through please let me or Wayne(Splatmaster) know in advance. you cam PM me here or email me at Gesani@bellsouth.net

I am going over on teh 28th of oct to help finish what was not done on the 27th, make a walk through and do the meet and greet with NATO commanders.

The more people that go the better it reflects for our teams, and better prepared we can be.

Splatmaster - October 19, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
High command is asking for names of who's going so we can make sure people wind up with the right units.

I need to know how many Section 8 are going, and how many not affiliated with Section 8 are going.

Fulda Gap was a great game. On Saturday we were supposed to be defending the Holiday Inn all day(we did). Some of us got tired of walking 3 miles to get back to Holiday after running out of paint and air. So we took every base between Simms City and Holiday with few casualties putting the Warsaw pact trying to catch us in points.

Then came the night game. Our arch enemy (Capitol Offense20+ strong)was well equiped with GenIII night vision. EVERY LAST 1 OF THEM  They OWNED the night

By daybreak we were signifficantly behind. We were able to make up some ground but not enough to pull it out for Wayne (he threw out his back and hardly played Sunday) :(

They also turned the Warsaw tanks loose on us Sunday, all over the field  That hurt :( = shot lots

On Sunday Warsaw had Simms City which we had to walk past to insert into the game. They posted a guard on the corner trailer of the city that gave every one a fit that tried to attack from that side.

My friend Fooley Bear got tired of looking at the poor guy and decided that he needed to take a break. Fooley Bear and myself made a wide sweep and low crawled up a bank below the poor fellow, unseen ;)
I had the angle on him and proceeded to turn his grill PINK. Then the shooting gallery opened up :D They came 1 after another out the same trailer door into my only shooting lane I had 1234567 count them 7 kills B) before they decided that that was not an emergency exit.

They then sent 2 guys to flank us, I exterminated 1 of them and the other must have been a newbie(he tucked in soo tight behind a tree he became the tree)

Then Fooley Bear hears a coming tank coming for us and bails at the perfecet time.I decide to stay and see what I could do in this situation

I had a fallen tree root ball to shield the tanks paint, I had to roll slightly side to side depending where he was shooting from, he could not hit me :P while preoccupied with dodging tank paint they sent an entire squad to flank me. I was able to take out the first 2 before succoming to a hurricane of paint :ph43r:

I have plenty of other stories to tell. If you have never played a big game, you don't know what you are missing ;)

Thanks Toby
The only way it could have been better, is to have you with us.

SAPPER69 - November 17, 2007 06:23 AM (GMT)
I cant wait till the next year. I plan on getting the most tank kills next time. Probally wont even carry a gun, just a rocket launcher (was more fun and cheaper)!

foolybear - November 21, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
Look for coverage of this great game in the January issue of Paintball Sports Magazine. I had a blast!

SAPPER69 - November 21, 2007 05:27 AM (GMT)
I just saw this on the Command Decisions forum posted by the Nato General!

Well I finally have time to post:

Congratulations to Warsaw Pact and David Thompson for a well deserved win. I can say we made them earn it.

I would like to thank everyone who played on NATO

Lincoln Assasins ,1337 and all the people that came from LOFP and Waynesville for their dogged defence of Duckett and Holiday Inn. They never left all day and allowed us to take 30 people and make it seem like 130.

Thanks to B-squad and the guys from B20 who agreed to be stationed at Rex even though we knew they would be steam rolled at the start of the game.

Woodboss did a great job of command of a patch work unit in the 3-17 and still did a great job of running up an down hills all day when ever he was needed to take out Rodney. You are definatley the stoutest M^%$# F(*&^* on the field.

A big thanks goes to the all the people who came out from milsimempire.com a5 and x7 groups. Also all the guys that came out from the Hickory Fire department.

Thanks to all the guys from Bravo-Two-Zero that helped on the radios

Two groups that did a great job all day helping move where they were needed where:

Black River Wolverines who while their comunication was great did great in small groups helping fill-in whereever needed and always made a difference.

Also I'ld like to thank 5 guys indvidually Andy, Kevin, Mike, and John an Jeff from B20 these guys where as much a reason as any for us doing as good as we did on Saturday. They where set up to be our SF killing squad and it was a full time job to keep thme busy all day. I would get a call on the radio that warsaw SF was occuping a base, I would call them and get a return call 5 minutes later looking for their next mission. Sometime going against 3 to1 odds they would go in an steamroll people.

I know their are others I am forgeting and for that I am sorry. I was truly impressed with the amount of leadership we had on our side. Warsaw had an advantage in that they had a good idea of their leadership capabilities from last year. I as most of you know didn't put the NATO side together last year but rest assured I watched each and everyone of you this year and we won't be at that disadvantage next time. That and we need to out recruit Ted (the Hun).

I would also like to recognize Smitty and Chapel (or should I thank the Marine Corp) for taking over Sim City during the night game - it was a thing of beauty to watch. It showed me then that with all the talk up that point about NVG it was still no match for well trained individuals.

And to my much talked about Gunner, Diesel (Yes, his name is Scott - Diesel, he was shooting a BT4 riding with me in the "silly little tank" right into Rex and is on Team Bravo-Two-Zero) thank you for having the balls to ride right up to Rex with me and coming up with the idea to take as many out with chemical smoke as we could since we were out of air and would die anyway. Just to set the record straight, since no one would take us out we decided to pop smoke and take ourselves out - it was on purpose, not a forgettful accident.

Thanks to all the Refs for doing a great job, especially Bryce who always gave me an explanation for doing things and even admitting if me made a mistake - thats rare in people but especially Refs.

Finally, but not least by any means, I want to thank Ferg, Lee ann for putting on this game - 4 pages of Thanks You's really attest to what a great weekend it was for everyone, we all appreaciate the hard work you guys put in. Thank you to my tank commander Ken without whom we would have no where to play this any many other great events.

The longer I sit here and type the more people I want to thank and recognize for their great job...but since I didnt just win an EMMY I will stop now...

We got a mention right off the bat!
