It started with a fire and a memo..

Re: Staff Relocations

Due to the unfortunate, and suspicious fire, at our Houston office, many Initech employees are being transferred to the Asheville, NC branch office. Vice President of Operations Bill Lumburgh will now be working from this office. Please welcome Bill, and the others, as they make their transition to their new home.

Then begun the reign of Lumburgh.

Shortly after that, another memo.. something about TPS reports and cover sheets. Then there were layoffs, followed by the gathering of our staplers, only to replace them with other staplers that constantly bound or jammed. There was even rumor of a glitch in payroll.

It has been 7 years under the reigns of Lumburgh. Asheville's Occupational Hypnotherapists are now booking months in advance. It was after one such visit that Peter Gibson, distant cousin of legend around the water coolers Peter Gibbons, would be called upon by fate to right the wrongs dealt to his fellow cubicle inhabitants when his hypnotherapist too died of a sudden heart attack.

On September 15th, employees will arise from their cubicles and stand up against the tyranny known as management.

Will Lumburgh and his band of policy pushers get the pink slip? Or will the employee rebellion be squashed and many of their jobs farmed out to India (as is standard practice)? Will you fight for right to bear red Swingline® staplers or will you fight for layoffs so your stock will go up 1/4 of a point?

Sept. 15th. Line of Fire Paintball.

Swingline is a registered trade mark of ACCO Brands Corporation

Excellent game Wayne!

For those of you who missed this theme day, you really missed out on an excellent one. The prop-based point system made it so that the score could fluxuate at any time. At one point in the game, only a five point difference separated the employees from management, but a gutsy theft of the employee props changed the score dramatically. The five minute insertion window also worked well. It was long enough that clearing the field could make a difference, but it was short enough to keep the players on the field. I brought a friend along, and he said that he's never shot as much paint in one day as he did at this theme day.

I, for one, am ready for Office Space II.

how many people showed up?

brandonH - September 16, 2007 11:47 AM (GMT)
I think there was about 16.

It's funny how we get sooooo many more positive responses on smaller tunouts at theme days. Maybe (while we're at the current location) we aughta start limiting theme days to 40 or 50 players (first to sign-up/pay). Don't get me wrong, as a field owner I like the income from larger groups (cause it allows us to add things to the field) but, I'll take quality play over quantity play anyday! Of 'course there would be acceptions. Blackhawk Down's turnout of 102 players really added to the realism of the game. If you've got any good (serious) ideas on limiting theme days, let us know.

But I gotta say...Great job, Wayne. Thanks to you and your staff!

Are the photos going to be posted soon?

LOFPB - September 16, 2007 11:24 PM (GMT)
As you may have noticed were are currently "archiving" the pics from theme days because we are on the verge on importing software (written by our own Wayne Smith) that will allow us to load and show ALL pics taken during a theme day, not just 30 or 40 that I pick (which as you know takes forever). As soon as the software is loaded we'll be able to instantly load the pics for viewing and they'll be posted before a lot of you even get home from the theme day. There are just a few bugs that Wayne is ironing out and we should be good to go.

Alright cool. Thanks

Gus - September 18, 2007 04:07 AM (GMT)
that will be great! One of the things I liked was having the pics up right after the theme day while people we still fresh from playing the game.

yea then i wouldn't have to bug toby for the pictures that i took i could just get them from the site. although i'd still have to bug him for some of them if i wanted larger size photos for my portfolio.

i think this theme day would have been best with about twice as many players then there was. it would have given the game a lil more challenge to it. we certainly had enough staff to warrant more players. lol.

brandonH - September 18, 2007 08:33 PM (GMT)
Yeah there was like a referee for each player haha

Wayne, I had an awesome time at Office Space! The management stole the day.
I had so much paint flowing thru my veins I went back Sunday for a little more.

Splatmaster - September 19, 2007 12:20 PM (GMT)
I'm glad everybody enjoted it. Thanks again for coming out for my first produced game.

I guess now I'll have to finish up that software for Toby so we can get all the pics up! I know Shaughn took 70+. I'm not sure how many Toby and David got.

Thanks again!

LOFPB - September 19, 2007 02:45 PM (GMT)
Wayne,

Next time you drop in I got something for you. Some of the giveaways came in a little late, so you are now the proud owner of a 2008 OFFICE SPACE CALENDAR!! WooHoo! Thanks again....I keep getting compliments on the theme day (and that just makes my day!) Later.

Gesani - September 20, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
More like 100+ photos... some came out better then others.. i am autally in the process of editing them. Then i have to deided on hoe to post them up.. weather it be via Photobucket or hosted on the server here at the house..

That Asian Kid - September 20, 2007 02:49 AM (GMT)
be sure to put some of them up on myspace. like i did.

i think i took about 79 or 80 photos using toby's secondary camera. If I had my own I would have taken about 200 or more. too bad it's broke'd. lol

Edit: hey wayne... guess it's time to start writing a new themeday. :P
