Novice learns the 'Golden Rule' of paintball firsthand

- Pulling up to Line of Fire's paintball field, I'm a little nervous approaching several groups of teenage guys hanging out, clad in paintball gear.

I am excited but a bit apprehensive about trying paintball. It's something that's been on my wanna-do list for a while. I'm finally getting around to playing with the help of a local paintball team I wrote a story about.

Local teens are regional paintball champs

-Members of Rush Army, a troika of teens including Matt Williams, 16, of Arden, Brett Janavice from Brevard and John Brigmon, 15, of Fletcher, are making a name for themselves in the competitive world of paintball.

BREVARD -- Brett Janavice, 15, of Brevard, and his Rush Army paintball teammates John Brigmon, 15, of Fletcher, and Matt Williams, 16, of Arden, know what it takes to be champions.

"You have to have a lot of patience and know how to react in certain situations," Brett says.

He also knows how important it is to have strong leadership, something he has gained as the team's captain.
