Title: Rainbow Six

Wardog 117 - February 19, 2007 03:34 AM (GMT)
How would you guys like to run a Rainbow Six themeday? There would be three teams. Two would be terrorists and one would be Rainbow. After playing a mission, the teams would be swapped out so everyone could play as Rainbow.

Objectives would be to rescue hostages, defuse bombs, etc.

Vote and post why.

I say yes.

The team playing as Rainbow would be playing for points. So as each team plays as Rainbow, they get points.

o ok that makes sense

Sounds awesome! You could keep the teams separate by having the terrorist getting points for stealing a biological agent from the Rainbow side or elimnating a Vip being escorted. While the Rainbow teams gets points for protecting the bio agent succesfully or escorting the Vip safly across the field. That would one way of eliminating the switching teams and make it easier to track points for officals.

it would take a lot of work and thought, but if you could make it happen then go for it.....

I realize this is an old topic, but would you guys still be up for it? Maybe some elements from COD 4 mixed in?

Rainbow Six was a best selling game when Counter Strike was still a free mod for (the originial) Half-Life. My room mate would play it while I was playing Team Fortress 1.5 or Action Half-Life.

Crap! I feel old again!

Sounds like it would run almost like the Black Hawk down theme.

Here's my idea of how else it could work (keep in mind, I've produced 1 game compared to Micheal's dozens, so I could be completly crazy)

Assuming summer time hours, games normally run 12-6, leaving 2 hours per round. Facter time in for replenishment, we're looking at possibly 1.5 hours for back to back missions. Run three 1/2 hour or 20 minute missions, rotate sides. Throw in bonus props or side missions for bonus points, and it all could work.

If using the bonus mission idea, give each team a different bonus mission of equal diffuculty so the 3rd team can't already have it planned out and roll through it too easily.

Team Fortress was an awsome game.

I didn't like the short multiple games like the blackhawk themeday. Granted, I was in the blackhawk most of the time and received a beating, I think that type of game invites confusion when you switch sides multiple times in one day.

I think switching once in the day would be good. That gives people time to set up stratagies and run them and then change if needed. Also, the non-scenario players would be able to jump in and out as needed without much of a glitch.

Just my thoughts.

Just so you guys know, R6 style play is being incorporated to the COD Modern Warfare themeday.
