I thought I had gotten boxes of outdated or heat exposed gloves. I had the clear food line gloves and the blue nitrate gloves. I was going through 2 pairs in two hours of cleaning. Finally I thought maybe they were not giving enough because of my dry rough hands so I was washing my hands and leaving them damp and then I apply some vasoline intensive care and put the gloves on. They last alot longer. I used to wing it with no gloves but now I protect my hands from absorbtion of chemicals through my skin. I also try not to bend over the bucket when filling as to avoid breathing rising vapors.
I was using the thick non disposable gloves but in the winter the after hours temp is turned down so far in the building I work in that they don't dry. Putting on wet cold gloves is not habit forming.
One of the female employees advised me for hand moisturizers to work you have to dampen your hands and then cover with moisurizers to increase effectiveness.
When you say "I use to wing it with no gloves" that scares me with MRSA and everything else out there these days.
