During spring cleaning a crew would mark furniture and then draw a diagram of the position of each and every piece of marked furniture for every room and it was posted at the front door to assist in putting the room back together.
I believe that a simplier solution would be to take a digital camera and take multiple shots from opposite angles of the room and log the prints and direction in the room it was shot at and then print them and post them on the outside of the room for re positioning the room.

Dirt your at the top of your game. I got got this idia after last summer cleaning (tired of looking at silly maps). I had a problem with some angles of pictures, but otherwise was helpful, and teachers loved the new approch. I told them dont worry about drawing me a picture , I have this cool digital camera. They loved it

I always foud that by video taping the room works well. With VCR's in all the rooms it was easy to trasport the tape from room to room.
