Title: What Atari games are what?

Collector - August 4, 2008 12:20 AM (GMT)
Any knowledgeable Atari 2600 collectors (probably Scumdogg), do you know of a place that has a complete list of what different titles are actually the same games?

Examples:
Stargate was renamed to Defender 2
Air Sea Battle (Atari) = Target Fun (Sears)
Pong Sports (Sears) = ??? (Atari)

Umm....no, actually.

I always just operated under the assumption that every Sears Tele-Games title i bought was going to be something i already owned under a different name. :) I don't think it happened all that often outside of that connection.

Stargate was released again as Defender 2? The only version i've seen on the 2600 is still just called Stargate.

Maybe we can build a list of our own.

Chuck Noriss' Super Kicks = Super Kicks.

I wish I remembered the name, but there's one game that was only released by Sears.

Yup. I own it as Defender II but not as Stargate.

We could try to make a list.

Here's some I got from Wikipedia:
Breakout = Breakaway IV
Video Pinball = Arcade Pinball?
Circus Atari = Circus?
Dodge 'Em = Dodger Cars
Math Gran Prix = Math?
Maze Craze = Maze? Maze Mania?
Star Ship = Outer Space
Street Racer = Speedway II?
Combat = Tank Plus

Other Sears titles I haven't identified yet:
Spelling
Space Combat
Slots
Memory Match
Chase
Poker Plus
Gunslinger

Oh, according to AtariAge, there are three Sears-only games:
Steeplechase
Stellar Track
Submarine Commander

Gunslinger is a re-naming of Outlaw, i do know that one offhand. I'll look into the others.

Actually, there were three of them - Submarine Commander, Stellar Track and Steeplechase.

Yeah, I mentioned those 2 posts up... in the same post you quoted actually. :)

I'm glad this got bumped though. We never really got anywhere with the list.
