Title: Striders game collection
Strider Tien - June 28, 2008 10:09 PM (GMT)
As per Scumdoggs request, I present my video game library.

A few titles for the old NEC (R.I.P.)

My import Saturn collection. I also have a domestic Saturn collection but I ain't diggin through my closet tonight, that's for friggin sure.

PSP collection. Still small but gaining steam.

My GBA collection. Probably not gonna grow too much from here.

The DS collection.

Game Cube collection.

Dreamcast collection. Domestic with 2 european imports on top to the right. Japanese imports to the left.

Main XBox collection.

Spill over XBox collection.

Main PS2 collection.

Spill over PS2 collection.

XBox 360 collection.

Big box games. Here we have Guitar Hero's 1 and 3.

More big box games. From top to bottom: Time Crisis 3, Vampire Night (both Guncon games), Ace Combat 5 with flight sticks, and the retardedly expensive Steel Battalion set up for XBox.

And of course, what room of doom would be complete without a fully stocked PS1 collection.
Well, that's the collection circa 1997 to present. NES, Snes, Genesis and Sega CD are tucked away in the shed. My pictures are of rather low quality but then again, I took em with a $40 XBox 360 web cam.
It should be noted that I copy and pasted this from another forum I frequent and that these pics were taken back at the end of January. My collection has grown since then. :dead:

Impressive, especially with the abundance of imports and the retardedly expensive Steel Battalion.

Yea......I probably should have bought a house, got married, and had a few kids instead....you know......with the money. :(
Scumdogg - June 29, 2008 04:29 AM (GMT)
Or you could always build a house *out* of video games. :)
Not a shabby collection man, not shabby at all. Like the man said, it's especially impressive with all those imports in there. The only thing i've ever actively imported was the PAL version of Shenmue 2 on the Dreamcast, which i see you have. Then there's a handful of other Japanese games purchased over here, mostly of the Super Famicom variety.
I do wish i could see more of the titles specifically though. You should make a list at some point. No rush, but it's a good project to work on.
Any idea how many games you've got laying around, total? I think my count is probably about 1050 at this point, but i haven't updated my list in a while. So lazy. :( Not a stunning number i know, but i'm more of a toy collector really. Video games are a side project. And I only buy games i'll play, with the exception of the Genesis, which is the one system i'm trying to 100% eventually. But even then i only buy complete games for that. And i don't use ebay. So it's slow going. :)

HOLY CRAP!!! You can READ that!?! Scumdoggs got the eagle eye. But yea, my father has suggested once that I build a house out of my game collection. It's gonna be hard hitting 100% Genesis without ebay. Also, I don't think I could ever make a list. To be honest, I think it would be easier to make a list of the games I DON'T own rather than the ones I do.

No... definitely easier to make a list of the games you do have. But like me, you're just too lazy or BUSY to do it. Depending on your situation.
I'm glad I never did do it. The list would only serve as a haunting reminder.
If I were to ever start collecting them again. I think I'd stick to PS2 games. I'd like to collect 2D fighters, RPGs, etc. Niche titles, usually from Japanese devs. Games I'd want to play... or just look at. :)
Nice collection though. I have Steel Batallion as well, though the box for it, sadly did not survive.

You see, that's exactly my thing. I like to collect the niche titles alot of other people overlook. 2D fighters like the King of Fighters series, Garou, The Last Blade, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, Arcana Heart.........you get the deal. And stuff some people may have never heard of. Just about ANYTHING Shin Megami Tensei like Nocturne, Persona, Devil Summoner, and Digital Devil Saga. I also tried to collect every .hack game after playing the first .hack//G.U. game including the special edition of .hack//G.U. vol.1 Rebirth Special Edition. Other honorable mentions are Growlanser: Heritage of War, Mana Khemia, and Ar tonelico. Given, alot of this stuff isn't exactly "rare" but it will be due to what seems to be a considerable amount of apathy towards these titles in America.

Wow... pretty much the same here. The crazy part is that there are so many that have come out just in the past two years, at the tail end of the PS2's lifetime. Especially the 2D fighters.
I've been into Persona since PS1. It is an odd game, but I guess that's why I like it. I haven't played P3 yet, but it must be cool, what with the shooting yourself in the head bit. .hack was a good idea, poorly executed, IMO. I lost interest like 20 minutes in, but I've played alot of MMO's.
I think one of my all time favorite series is Disgaea, along the same lines, japanese/demon/2D/schitck.
Sadly, I think I'm one of the only people looking forward to Operation Darkness on the 360. I'll really be surprised if anyone's even heard of it.
Strider Tien - July 17, 2008 10:05 PM (GMT)
Operation Darkness kinda looks like it should be $20. Maybe it's good. Fact is I don't even like that genre of games. And all that considered, $60 is just too rich for my blood.
You may be interested to know that they are working on Disgaea 3 for PS3. I haven't touched 1 or 2 though. Like a lot of the stuff I own, they just sit in the stack.
What I'm kinda looking forward to though is the XBOX360 exclusive Tales Of Vesperia. Can you believe that Bamco would actually release an exclusive Tales game for a Microsoft console? The concept is SO ridiculous, I gotta get it. That and the fact that I gotta get everything. :dead:
Brightblade - July 18, 2008 04:10 AM (GMT)
Yeah... Operation Darkness does not look like a AAA title. I will agree that it should not be $60. $40 at most. But come on, werewolf commandos taking on vampire nazis with bazookas!?! Who doesn't want some of that action?
The animation looks like doodoo. But I look forward to picking it up on clearance.
Another Tales game? meh. Doesn't surprise me in the least. If publishers could get away with it, they would sell the same game on EVERY system, regardless of quality.
The 360 does RPGs quite well. I enjoyed Eternal Sonata for a while. Blue Dragon put me to sleep as did that Lost Odyssey. So I look forward to Tales, as it's more along my tastes.
Yeah, I never got around to Disgaea 2. Probably never will.
