Title: Dark Elves
Description: Do you play?

Reaper - April 27, 2006 05:43 AM (GMT)
i just wanted to know, as i am new to the Dark Elves, does anyone else play Dark Elves on these forums?

Meaphet Ran - April 28, 2006 10:59 AM (GMT)
i run an all calvery Dark Elven army, consiting of nothing but dark riders, colldone knights and chariots

Reaper - April 28, 2006 12:52 PM (GMT)
really? how successful is that?
you wouldn't have many models on the filed but your charges especially from the cold one knights and chariots would kick ass, i think i'm just gonna go for a standard army though, i already have a reasonably sound list for 1,999 points, now i just gotta buy the stuff :D , one thing is for certain though i will nearly always enjoy the luxury of charging, my brothers play Tomb Kings and Dwarves :)

Meaphet Ran - April 28, 2006 01:07 PM (GMT)
it has mixed results although i love being able to move 18" and still fire the repeater crosbows, so many shots...

Reaper - April 28, 2006 02:01 PM (GMT)
yeah gotta love Elvish horses :D , and those crossbows, although fluff-wise i;m more of a long bow person myself

Commissar-Craig - April 30, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
I play a City Garrision army which rocks. Due to 8 Bolt Throwers in 2k B).

Reaper - April 30, 2006 07:15 AM (GMT)
8 bolt throwers?!?!?!?!?!
i gotta go and check this list out, all i remember from it is the front row using crossbows and the back ones using spears (which makes sense)

Commissar-Craig - April 30, 2006 05:25 PM (GMT)
Bolt Throwers count as a Special choice & each choice gives you 1-2 so 4x2 = 8 Bolt Throwers :D the down side is thats 800pts  so you wont get much else after characters & minimal 3 core.

Though chariots a core I think anyway if you havent the WD with them in it, you can find it here.

i already read it on the net, i think it was on the uk website (which is much more helpful than the Australian one, although i still look at both)

I know you read it but you were confused about 8 Bolt Throwers so I thought you needed another look .

lol, ok then, it's the thought that counts

although it may have been a link into a death trap, being a druchii player and all

You can't change the facts Yuki.

Meaphet Ran - May 4, 2006 03:48 AM (GMT)
yes but it appears that someone doesnt realise that a army is only as good as its general, ou pu a cr*p player behind the reins of of a dark elf army, theyll get beaten everytime all the dark elf players at my store are veterans and quite often they win store tournaments.

Brak'hir - May 4, 2006 10:33 AM (GMT)
Honostly you cant blame an army for losing, its always ALWAYS the player fault...

Euleze - May 4, 2006 11:39 AM (GMT)
AGREED!!!!!!!!!

Commissar-Craig - May 4, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
50%50

I blame army lists, the dice & randomly generated terrain. Ofcourse in some cases it's the Generals fault. But in the small cases such as druchii, Harlequins, Snotling Hordes & many others through out GW, suck due the the actaul army composition..

Reaper - May 5, 2006 08:13 AM (GMT)
i gotta disagree with that, all armies can be won with, Druchii are a very good army, you just have to know how to use them properly, it's just a matter of some armies are more forgiving than others and druchii definately aren't forgiving, although the dice can play a part (as Calaith will find out when we have our game  , i have notoriously bad luck)

farseer of beil-tarun - August 15, 2006 03:14 AM (GMT)
i'm starting a dark elf city-garsson army iand i think i'll go with the 8 reaper bolt thrower idea

Reaper - August 18, 2006 09:22 AM (GMT)
hmm, that's a lot of firepower, could well work, of course it could depnd heavily on what kind of army you're up against
