Title: Exarchs and unit size
Kaanaelis - February 22, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
I was using army builder one day to put together an Eldar list. The strangest thing happened. When I was updating a 5 man squad of Warp Spyder to include an Exarch, it added the Exarch but I couldnt update a model of the 5 man squad. So I ended up with 6 men, rather than 5.
The book specifically says 'One model in the squad may be upgraded to an Exarch'. Doesnt that phrase mean that the squad will remain the same size, no matter if an Exarch is in it or not.
Just my two cents.

yeah the sqad remains the same size, my AB does exactly the same, its a bit of a pain in the ass but they haven't fixed the bug yet.

If you haven't loaded the latest datafile, go to:
http://www.ab40k.org/and download the latest.
It says the Eldar were updated on February 11th, and they allegedly fixed the Exarch problem.
Let us know if it works.
(I'm only running the demo until my FLGS gets my copy in that I ordered from him last month )

I just added it (to my demo version) and it fixed the problem.
I was able to add (5) Spiders, add Exarch, and remove one of the Spiders to make 5 again.
Hope that helps.
BTW, the update has the new Ork codex included. :D

The same one. Version 3.x from Lone Wolf. This is update v1.29b if that means anything.
Go to that link I put above, then click 'downloads' on the left, and download the 'current release' data file for 40k.
Then import it into your AB. (Just save all your lists first, because it may wipe them out.)
That's the site (as reached by links from wolfair.com) of the guys that maintain all the 40k data files. It shows the status of updates, bugs, etc, and is where you can get all the latest info.

I don't think they've necessarily made it public... and it's not like it's been up there for more than a week or two, so you weren't missing the boat or anything.
But it's a good site to know if you find any bugs... that's where you can report them and they will get fixed. B)
