Meaphet Ran - April 10, 2006 03:43 AM (GMT)
ok im in the process of writing a very long necron tactics article, and im looking for name for is (tactica Necronis is already taken...)
thanks for any help
EDIT: to give you an idea how long it is, i only just finished writing about the wargear and im up to 1500 words (almost 3 pages)
Meaphet Ran - April 10, 2006 08:10 AM (GMT)
oh and euleze and brak, may i ask you a favour and get you to write a couple of lines about each of the dark eldar and ork units and what they are like fighting necrons, aswell as any wargear that is particually devastating aainst necrons (you will receive proper credit in the document, as will anyone who submits information that is included)
Cal feel free to help with the Eldar side of things, as im not to sharp on my eldar skills
Calaith - April 10, 2006 09:17 AM (GMT)
Sure Meaphet
Number 1 tactic for not loosing to Necrons with Eldar: Never play Meaphet Ran!
Number 2 tactic: Make sure you have very lucky dice, or at least not the cursed ones I played with when I vs. him.
Kidding obviously, I'll be happy to help.
Cheers, Cal

Well ill do whatever i can to help, but as i said i havnt too much knowledge when it comes to necrons.....just enough to beat them
Meaphet Ran - April 10, 2006 11:54 AM (GMT)
well just enough is good enough, ill probally combine what you each write
as the followers of khorne say :blood for the blood god!
but in this case its:info and knowledge for the tactia!
i actually topped 10,000 characters just before and im only part way through the elites
Meaphet Ran - April 10, 2006 03:02 PM (GMT)
well i was up to till early morning but the tactica is up to 4000 words and im only just passed deployment...
Meaphet Ran - April 11, 2006 04:35 AM (GMT)

Ciartan - April 21, 2006 03:48 PM (GMT)
if you're still looking for stuff for the "know thine enemy" i've written up an anti-eldar unit breakdown recently... should be easy enough for me to adapt to be necron based for you
Meaphet Ran - April 23, 2006 12:13 PM (GMT)
anything wwould help concerning eldar, the tacticqa may be further away than anticipated *cough* oblivion *cough*
Commissar-Craig - April 30, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
No.1 Tactic for Necrons: Take 20 Warriors for every 500pts.
No.2 Tactic for Necrons: C-tan may be Gods but the suck a$$ on the table top.
No.3 Tactic for Necrons: Never play Guard or Eldar, if you can help it.
Calaith - May 1, 2006 08:49 AM (GMT)
Never play guard? I almost laughed when I heard that. A total of 6 games maybe where I've vs Guard with my small Necron force, and I am yet to lose.
Given, his Ulthwe' Eldar kicked my butt......stupid Wraithlord
for tactics vsing Necrons...
-Wraith Lords are good.
-Lots of high strength or ap3 weapons. Don't bother with crappier weapons as they simply won't do anything.
-Focus your fire power. ie: Attempt to wipe out an entire Destroyer unit before swutching targets, as this means they won't be able to get back up (often).
-Beware of Heavy Destroyers, especially if your taking Vypers or Falcons.
-Beil-Tan battle plan: Probably best to target the destroyers first. I'd take lots of Falcons or Wave Serpents with troops inside. Vypers with heavy weapons (though don't expect them to last.) and reapers. Be really careful of destroyers or Wraiths when using reapers, its often smart to either get the first shot, or hunt them down with Vypers.
An Avatar to protect the reapers if you take alot of these guys can also be helpful. (for only 80 points its worth it.) And seeming not many Necron equipment really messed with your stats a Farseer isn't necasserily desperately needed. Probably a Pheonix Lord would be smart to simply take out mass Necrons in cc.
and yes: KILL THE LORD!
Cheers, Cal
Meaphet Ran - May 2, 2006 12:51 PM (GMT)
sorry about this reaper but is has to be done
HA! haha ha he hmmm
take 20 warriors every 500 points? sure if you want a horde 10 forey 500 is fine, that said i only take 20 in my 1500pt list
ctan suck? well if you dont know what the hell youre doing, ctan are awsome if you can fit one in the amont of strategies the bring up is incredible.
dont play guard or eldar? i dont know what necron youre using but all i watch out for are nids and khorne
guard is simple and i walk all over eldar
necodermiac - May 14, 2006 08:31 AM (GMT)
Monoliths are real good in meat grinder missions as your necron warriors won't phase out in these kill all missions, don't focus on pariahs as for the same point cost of 10 you can hav the nightbringer instead.
Farseer Concerta - May 14, 2006 08:46 AM (GMT)
but for the same price of a nightbringer you can have 10 pariahs
Calaith - May 14, 2006 09:27 AM (GMT)
lol, its a tough one actually. I'd probably go with the Nightbringer though, simply because it would be cheeper to buy him than 10 Pariahs, and because ultimately he can't be shot to pieces and become less affective when he reaches close combat. (though he can of course be shot down.)
Meaphet Ran - July 25, 2006 02:55 AM (GMT)
ok im planning on starting part 2 of my tactica soon (about time...) and i need those of you who know the ways of the Necron to help me cover all the individual tricks of the units (just the name and what it is what i have so far is
