Hello fellow Eldar,
Sorry about this belated hello. Just wanted to make sure I touched all my basics.
I am newly into the Eldar (around 1000 points), after spending a long time with the Necrons (around 3000 points).
My major reason I came to the 'good' side is the lack of versality with the Necrons. With them the majority of your army shoots at 12" doubletapped (since redundancy is the case with necrons that is why i say majority), also the limited selection of the Necrons is too constricting...(i mean 9 different unit selections)
The Eldar I love the fact that there are four different troup choices...all viable selections...DAs for assault shooting, Guardians for Heavy weaponry, Rangers for snipers, and Jetbikes for hit & run shooting.
I believe I know how I want to set up my army...I want to focus on stealth units primarily...these are units such as pathfinders, warp spiders, scorpions, warwalkers, and harlequins.
IF any could give me pointers on my army, it would greatly be appreciated.
Welcome to the Craftworld. We actually get a lot of Necron players turned Eldar around here, like my goodself...though I'm vice verse. Necrons were my second army.
I hope you find this site useful to you. We'd be more than happy to help with any lists you want to get advice on, and any questions regarding rules and tactics. Plus if you get your models painted we would love to see them.
I like the style of army you're going for actually. Why not try a squad of Avengers, a squad of Pathfinders, a squad of 10 Harlequins, and a squad of Dark Reapers backed with some War walkers and led by a Farseer for a beginning? This was just a rough list I threw together in my head though, so you might want to refine it. ;)
Cal
welome to the craftworld.
I myself have just started to collect an elder army, (already have darkelder and necrons.) and hopefully in a few months time ill have it up and running
And i feel your pain with the old necrons too, not much to do but march foward and shoot when in range can get boring after a while
