Title: Specialist Games

Meaphet Ran - April 6, 2006 01:34 AM (GMT)
well just thought id find out, does anyone here play any specialist games?

i personally play a bit of Mordheim, with my Skaven warband (every hero has for some reason lost an eye...) my Assassin has been the death of a great many warabnds, with his weeping blades and tail fighting :ph43r:

i also have the rule books for, inquisitor, Battlefleet gothic, Blood Bowl, Necromunda and Epic, although i dont generally play them

I get into Inquisitor, some times, suprisingly it is more popular than regular 40K up here.

I dipped into Necromunda for awhile there, but our group discovered that after awhile, your gang that you have grown to love, is now rife with special rules and the such, kinda slowing gameplay RIGHT down. So we gave it the ar$e.

I currently have the 40k, 6th WHFB, Gorkamorka rulebooks, but I plan on increasing that list to include =][=, BFG, and Epic. I think that these three combined with 40k could allow for some serious campaigns.

I would also love to find the warship rules for WHFB, that could be cool. Have a campaign for some form of lost treasure in Lustria, but instead of starting there, you have to travel there by ship.

I've always wanted to try Mordheim, it looks like alot of fun. Haven't yet, though. To lazzy  .

I would really love to get into Battle Fleet Gothic, but unfortunately, my finances don't extend so far as ordering from the UK, even though the rules for most specialist game systems are availiable from the Specialist Games site.

i collect and somtimes play BFG, but not many people play it... shame, its one of the less messed up gw games

I'm part-way through reading the Battle Fleet Gothic Rules, and from what I've read so far they could very easily be used to represent Fantasy battle ships. You'd jsut have to change weapons batteries to cannons and Lances to bolt throwers or Nova Cannons to flame launchers. I reecon it would very easily work.

i am just getting into BFG mainly due to the superb forge world tau ships and the fact the rules as with all specialist games are free to download from GW web site
the new forge world fighter combat game could also be good

Well, that was different...

Anywhoo...

I play Necromunda, Mordheim, Inquisitor, Bloodbowl, dabble a bit into BFG, and has anyone here played the Warhammer Ancient Battles?

For some reason i like the Specialist games. I am looking forward to the Aeronautica Imperialis. Air combat in 40k? Whats not to like??

And Boris, do you mean Man-O-War?
