Title: Skimmers moving fast versus AP1 and D-Cannon

Hey y'all,
Just wondering if you have encountered this problem before, but since all Eldar grav tanks can move 12", you get the "skimmer moving fast" benefit and weapons can only glance. But how does that work with AP1 weapons that always penetrate if it glances... which rule takes precedence?
Also, does the D-Cannon or Wraithcannon penetrate a skimmer moving fast on a roll of 5+?
Thanks!
K

Actually, I realized after reading some other forums that the Eldar FAQ was pretty clear about this... All shots, no matter the source, at a skimmer moving fast counts as glancing, including haywire grenades and wraithcannons (I assume that includes AP1 too).
That cleared it up!
:D

It's a very common question. Made me think twice when I first started Eldar as well, and again when the new AP1 rules came out. This rule, I think, is one of the Eldar's greatest benefits.

It is what makes their vehicles so difficult to destroy, especially now with Vectored Engines, as you need a six to destroy it.

The question is, do you guys take Vectored Engines? I usually take stone and holo field, but by then the cost of the vehicle is quite high that I can't take vectored engines...

I think for your Transports the cost of Vectored Engines is balanced out by the safe disembarking of the unit inside. If the tank is only immobalised they won't take any wounds, nor will they be entangled.
For Fire Prisms and Vypers it is really up to you. Do you want the tank to continue firing once it is immobalized, or do you not think the cost is worth it?

Good points Cal. I'll take that into consideration...
