Title: Eldar Runes
Description: Need a good source

So..... I was hoping that someone could direct me towards some reference material on Eldar runes; is there a general listing for meaning/appearance?

Nothing substancial that I know of. There was a page in the 3rd edition Eldar codex that contained a page with a slab discovered on some world covered in Runes. There are the meanings of those runes in it.

And I guess it is safe to say that the runes you find on the aspects armour would mean the name of that aspect and what they do. And you'd assume the large rune on the Avatar's cloak is the insignia of Khaine.

Nothing else that I know of off the top of my head though.

thanks!

Hmmm... Maybe we should start creating a definitive guide to Eldar runes? Maybe it wouldn't be anything official, but it might be fun at least!

I found some sites to Elvish runes and all seem to direct me to the stuff that Tolkein used in his books. Apparently he used Anglo-Saxon runes. Here's what they looked like, Anglo-Saxon runes and More runes.

Those are some nice links; they give some very good ideas! Thanks!

Try the Warhammer Fantasy High Elves army book. I happen to have a copy and some of those runes could easily be on Eldar models. There may be a copy on one of the GW websites too, but I'm not too sure.

I've seen that page, just to so how GW fails to notice how 40k and Fantasy are different games, the crescent moon is a symbol of darkness, failure and despair for the High Elves just as Eldanesh's Moon is for the Eldar.

I suppose that would make it all the more reliable.
