Title: 1000pt 1st Ulthwe List
Description: Lets go kill.............

Lord_Tyrion - January 23, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
1000pt Eldar Ulthwe Army List

1x Farseer T'Yrion (Spirit Stones, Mind War, Fortune, Singing Spear) = 128pts

10x Dire Avengers (Exarch with Power Weapon & Shimmer Shield, Bladestorm) = 162pts
16x Guardians (Warlock with Conceal and Spirit Seer) = 227pts

2x War Walkers (2x Twin Scatterlasers) = 120pts
1x Wraithlord (1x Brightlance, 1x Wraithblade) = 140pts
5x Dark Reapers (Exarch with Missile Launcher and Fast Shot) = 217pts

Total = 994pts - 35 Models

This list is built to generally be a static Firebase, with some flexibility if needed. The Dire Avengers are there to deal out some death and still have some reasonable holding power close up if needed. The Wraithlord will support them in close combat, and the War Walkers will weaken any charging enemy troops. Tanks could be a problem, but i will only be facing light vehicles such as Rhino's, Dreads and such in 1k. The Guardians provide numerous support. The Dark Reaper's role is (To be honest) fairly obvious. The Farseer is there to take out enemy characters and to protect the unit under the most fire (Probably Dire Avengers or Dark Reapers).

Well any hints or tips for improvement?

A nice choice, however I think Guide instead of either fortune or Mindwar would be helpful. Cast it on your Reapers in the first turn to make sure they miss as little as possible (it really does make a difference.) and then cast it on your Guardians once the enemy gets close so that they have a reasonable chance of hitting.

If you are prepared to I'd also take Doom. This power rocks in all situations, and makes shuriken fire trully deadly to almost anything they face, including T5 enemies.

Nice solid choice. The Twin shuriken catapults for the Exarch is a perfectly viable idea, as you only get two attacks with the Exarch wounding on a 5+ most the time. However sometimes those two attacks can tip the balance, and shimmer shields are helpful, so it's up to you.

16x Guardians (Warlock with Conceal and Spirit Seer) = 227pts

Nice juicy squad. It will be able to absorb a lot of casualties, and dish out a lot of shuriken death with Guide and Doom. But I've noticed you don't have a weapons platform. One must be fielded under the new codex.

2x War Walkers (2x Twin Scatterlasers) = 120pts

That is a lot of Scatter laser fire. Such volumes of it will probably make it effective even against Power Armour, so I think you should keep these guys exactly the same.

1x Wraithlord (1x Brightlance, 1x Wraithblade) = 140pts

Good heavy support to take out tanks, and the blade will make it deadly in cc.

QUOTE
5x Dark Reapers (Exarch with Missile Launcher and Fast Shot) = 217pts

Again a delicious choice. These guys ability to throw out massed heavy fire power is invaluable. The missile Launcher and Fast shot were also good choices, as it makes the Exarch effective against Vehicles as well if you need to pop one quickly. Just remember to deploy them in cover.

Over all it's a good list. Like I said the only changes I would make are the Farseers powers, as Guide will come in a lot more handy to a shooting army, and Doom is invaluable no matter what you're going to be doing to your oponent.

Yeah, pretty much everything that Cal said....

With the weapons platform for the Guardians, I would recommend either a starcannon or a scatterlaser. The scatterlaser provides a lot of high strength shots at a reasonable range, so if they are a static firebase, they have a bit of potency at range. I'd personally go for a starcannon though, as it has a little more punch. It makes big difference with 3+ and 2+ save squads because on average you'll get a kill a turn.

its a nice list
i like mind as i can snipe down those hidden power fists in marine and guard squads making them harmless vs your wraithlord

storm is nice vs horde armies like nids and guard

Actually the cost of the squad does include a Starcannon Platform. I just forgot to add it in! :P

Thanks for the comments!
