This list is very good.

I'd say your HQ is a very good choice, especially your choice to psychic powers and the spirit stones. Makes him all the more helpful.

Scorpions are a great squad, especially with all the attacks they now have in the new codex. They will really be crushing to any 4+ save T3 armies like Guard, Tau, DE and 'Nids. Not only do they have S4 attacks, but they also have loads of them so that even a small number of scorpions can take down large hoards. They're also good against SM, but perhaps not the larger squads. Scorpions, as you have likely guessed, are also good at grabbing ground early and striking at quickly as possible.

Avengers is a good solid choice. The Shimmer Shield and Power weapon are an interesting choice, but if you ever come up against T5 oponents (like Plague Marines) swap to the Twin Shuriken Catapults. Remember that Avengers are not a cc unit, so don't charge them in unless you really have to. Charging is better than being charged.

At first I would have said that the Guardians were a bad decision. I am an anti-god of Guardians, and hate them with a passion because alone they are worthless! Most Eldar players love them, but if they do field Guardians it is usually in a large hoard style army. They have numbers which is helpful, but in your list they don't have numbers.

However with the Farseer casting Guide on them and Doom on their target, they may match up to the Dire Avengers yet. DAs do not need Guide cast on them because of their BS4 anyway, but Guardians will. Your only problem is that they won't last as long if shot at. I'd keep them in formation next to the Avengers to make a solid firing line.

Not going to comment on the Swooping Hawks. I am considering getting my own unit of them, but I have never fielded them before so don't know how they will fair.

Reapers rock! They are deadly, especially against SM forces. Lots of high strength AP 3 shots mean you can nearly wipe out an entire squad a turn with them, if that squad is out in the open. My advice is to keep them in cover, but somewhere where they can get a good view of everything. Range is a big factor for them, and part of their deffence is having the ability to outdistance your oponents guns. Don't be afraid to deploy them close to your table edge, they have a high Ld, but obviously don't deploy them right on the table edge. Deploying them first can be a pain in the butt however, because your oponent will tend to high his army from them.

Over all it looks like a really solid list, especially on the deffence. I'll be interested to see how it fairs on the battlefield. Keep us posted.

a nice flexiable list possibly lacking anti tank but you do have the missle launcher and hawks haywire grenades and any armour you will encounter at 1000 pts in likely to be mediums or dreadnoughts

it as with all eldar will need careful use as it is small and fragile but a nice list

thanks. for the DA I was torn between giving the exarch the two avenger shuriken catapults and the power weapon and shimmershield. I don't plan on using this squad for cc, but I didn't want them to be unprepared for it either. I will put the grardians out to protect the DA, but would use DA to assault a weaker squad that gets to close. having never played Eldar befor is my theory sound, or should I just go for all shooting and hope they don't get into cc. thanks for any help.

My personal preference is the twin catapults. It acts as more raw firepower, which the squad needs, epecially when facing marines and their 3+ save buddies (stupid 3+ save club <_< ) and the like. With bladestorm your exarch has five BS5 shots, which is impressive.

I did initially plan on the exarch with the shimmershield and power weapon. The other day however this was completely put out of my mind. In a game against Cal, this squad got into combat, and I realised that this guy doesn't have a second close combat weapon. This means that he's only got two attacks (bar charging), and sure, they'll most likely hit on a 3+, you are going to need 4'd and 5's to wound most opponents. Admitedly we forgot the shimmershield, but to me its the only real reason for this wargear set.
