Hey guys you ever played shoot'em up games. Cause you know what I like about them, some funny things can happen in those sorts of games.

So have you ever had a funny or wierd moment while playing a shoot'em up game?



Yeah this is my 50th post, yeah two crosses for me. :D :P :D :P :lol:

I say only five words:

Rocket Launcher, Team mate, BOOM!!! :wacko:

oh god where to begin (im a big nline FPSplayer)

killing 2 people so it looks like theyre in a headlock, when theyre lying dead on the floor
in a game realistic damage managing to walk through to the opposing teams bease without gettng killed only to be killed by a team mate that followed me in
seeing 2 helicopters collide in BF 2 (the first casualties of the game)
the list goes on

I remember watching my brother play the 'Assault on the Control Room' level in the first Halo.

1. He was running about in the snow just infront of one of those huge purple Covenant tanks that hurl blue energy balls (the name escapes me at the moment.) trying not to get hit by it. He fires three Rockits directly at it, and it still survives. Having no ammunition left in his rockit launcher, he pulls out his only other gun...the pistol. One shot and this thing lights up like our neighbourhood at christmas.

2. He was carrying around an empty rockitlauncher. Another for the Covenenat tanks was lobbing blue energy balls at him from a distance, but he was to concerned with the Banshee flying over head. The thing swoops down on him and starts shooting at him, so he thinks he's gone (having very little health.) One of the energy balls from the tank gets a direct hit on the Banshee by accident blowing it to pieces and saving my brother.


Other times include when Arrowen kicked a friends butt in Halo two using the sword. When I fought Euleze in Halo and the bugger is a master with the plasma grenades and getting them stuck on peoples heads.
And when I was playing Quake 3 Arena, and my brother leapt at me from a gravity pushing platform thingy. Snipered him as he sailed through mid air...actually now that I think about it I also Snipered Euleze in mid air during a game of Halo, twice!

Anyway my story also involves Halo 2, one of my favorite games. I had a couple of friends over for an Xbox lan part and it was two on a team, and there were two teams. So my friend and I (his Halo 2 name is Red Hawk, mine is Scope) anyway we thought we'd gang up on this other guy Scarlet, so he was standing there trying to find use with the sniper rifle and Red Hawk was suppose to come from behind Scarlet and Wack him and I was back up I stood there with the Sniper Rifle aimed at his head just in cause he saw Red Hawk and decided to move.

Anyway so Scarlet sees Red Hawk and goes to hit him and I step in and fire a bullet into his head. Yeah okay so it is a normal straight out kill normally! What happen was there was a glich in the game and the bullet went straight through Scarlets head and hit Red Hawk's head and killed Red Hawk.

The screen after that said, Betrayal, You killed Red Hawk.

And those tanks are called Wraiths, Cal :)

And Sniper Rifle (hence the reason my friends call me scope)

Ahhh lets see......

I was played Rainbow 6:Lockdown and i approached a door that was closed.....

I turned on my Thermal vision (the heat sensing one) and i could see that there was 2 guys standing right behind the door........

So i waited with my shotgun untill one opened the door and as soon as he did i blew the first ones head off...........

The second one just looked at me and screamed " HOLY SH#$" As i promptly filled him with lead........

(yes, this ACTUALLY HAPPENED, i didnt know they swore but they do)

Also sticking many plasma grendades on peoples visors (so they cant see a thing)

OH and changing your name to something like "A flying tomato" so when you kill someone, it comes up as "You were killed by a flying tomato"

Out sniping a n00b with a scope, whilst I used a Kar. Spray'n'pray through a hedge, and achieving a headshot (never an easy thing to explain!). Bashing a camper to death with binoculars, which in the expansion for CoD results in 'owned' appearing in the kill dialogue.

So very many more as well...... :)

Like screaming "BOOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!!" everytime he nailed somone in the head

Its actually just by coincidence my brother showed me that not to long ago. It is so funny, a must for anyone who plays over the net alot.

My favourit part would be when he goes for a run, carying a knife. :lol:

As to crazy gaming moments, I was once playing Halo 1, "the two betrayals' level. Towards the end when you come up against almost an intire convenant army, I usually sit back and sniper most of it before I fly in on a Ghost and own. I snipered a grunt in the head, but by some freak chance an Invisible Elite just happened to be in the way, so I got two kills for the price of one. :D

oh god, as a long time planetside player i dont know where to start really.

flying a dropship, getting my tail stuck under a bridge, going allmost vertically up before going horizontal again, doing a barrel roll, and performing a perfect landing all by chace.

landing a one man tank perfectly on a roof of a complex after dropping from a drop ship, and seeing the snipers that were there run for their lives.

getting the front of a fighter stuck through an enemy tower and shooting everyone inside to peices...

oh, and a bug that caused a flail (large artillary) shot to come out of my beamer (laser pistol) into spawn campers.

there are more, i will post them when its not nearly 1am

well, i have had many funny moments.

recently me and my friends have been playing lots of day of defeat on lan. the very first grenade kill i saw was as soon as i respawned my friend had a grenade land at his feet and was blown over a building :D

my friend was camping on a 2 story roof so i threw a grenade up there which he didn't notice and then seeing him fly off the roof and fall flat on the ground

killing 2 people with one bullet (3 times in one night :lol: )

and me personal favourite firing a grenade at my friend and then killing him by hitting him with the grenade and then waiting a few seconds and see his dead body fly across the screen as the grenade exploded :lol:

I love blowing people away with grenades, then placing anotherone before their body lands and blowing their body into the air again. I've only managed to do this really well once, but I think I blew hos body back into the air 2 or 3 times. :D


What annoys me are the old FPS games, is the fact that there were set respawn places, and so you were bound to popout at one of a given number of locations. My brother (whois a master at these kind of games.) got about 5 or 6 kills on me because I kept respawning in the same place. Given, it was rather humerous to see 5 of my dead body's lying on top of each other in the same place.

lol that would be pretty funny, but i have that problem with Day of Defeat, so it's not just the old fps games :(

I was playing F.E.A.R. with my friend and his brother. My friends brothers favorite weapon is the nailgun (isn't actually called that but it shoots large nail shaped thingies so thats what we call it) For people who haven't played this game (you should though) if you kill some one with this gun the last shot will be visable on the body (you can nail people to the wall :)) My friends brother is shooting my friend with this gun, in an effort to dodge the nail thingies my friend jumps and promptly gets shot in the face (my friends brother is a really good shot) and gets his head pinned to the roof, it was very funny looking.

As for Halo, on the first level of Halo 1 I threw a plasma grenade at an elite behind one of those energy shield things (always wondered why they never seem to be able to see through those things) and the grenade lands at his feet, it does not land on him. Normally elites like to jump away from the grenade like any smart person, however this elite didn't instead he looked at it after about 3 seconds made a loud sound and then gave the wall some nice new paint.

This isn't from a FPS but it is still funny and shows how stupid AI can be.

I was playing Dune 2000 (very good RTS game) and anyone who has played it knows how good the siege tank is at killing infantry (think hammerhead submunition against ork basic infantry) I had about 5 siege tanks and I airstrike the comp once and it promtly sells all its buildings (in this game when you sell a building you get 1-2 basic infantry) and promtly charges me. I won this skirmish in about 5 minutes (thats got to be a record)
