This list is to help me learn the game, as well as having a good time ;)

Seems like a nice enough list. Has a good variety of troops in it, a cc squad, a shooty squad and a tank.

Tactics wise, your either best infiltrating your scorpions and keeping your Avengers advancing near them in support. The War walker acting like a supporting weapons platform.

Otherwise you could go on the deffence keeping the Avengers and War walker together to shoot down any troops bearing down upon you. The scorpions hiding near by to intercept or grab and passing enemy troops.

I'll proxie a game using both strategies mentioned by you Cal. Let's see which one works better.

a nice list as cal says versitile and good fire power should do well, might strugle vs a tau force with there longer range and str5 guns but other wise fine and the scorps will get in quick vs tau

Great my friend has tau and has 18 Fire men. Darn :angry:

Scorpions go through Fire Warriors faster than Banshees through Terminators. If you can get them into cc they'll tear the Fire warriors apart.

You'll need to keep them in deep cover and advance them really carefully. Meanwhile you may need to attract fire with the Avengers so that the scorpions aren't shot at. If the scorpions are fired upon however, at least you have a chance to get your Avengers up close and personal.

When vsing Tau, give your Avenger Exarch the pistol and Dire sword. (Pistol gets him extra attacks.) You've got a better chance of shoping the Tau up in cc than attempting to take them down in a fire fight.

With eight scorpions, you should ahve the bodies needed to get into combat with a reasonable number of survivors in this size game. With effective use of cover, I don't see a problem.

Normally I'd recommend a power weapon over a diresword, but against Tau battlesuits a diresword may come into its own. Then agaisnt you're probebly more likely to do the same damage by bladestorming the pricks.

This is awesome because I'm getting some avengers and scorps this week :D And already have the war walker.

For the two extra scorpions I'll use two wood elves painted green :lol:
