Title: A Craftworld Campaign?
Description: based on our tabletop victories

okay just an idea but it seesm some other sites are running a campaign where our table top victories affect a campaign not sure how this would work but interesting
so lets say i fight necrons at my locla club and my iyanden army kicks some then somewhere on the campaign the eldar gain and the necrons loose ground/ a system?

are people interested? could it work?

or maybe just something where we report in our victories / defeats vs certain races and keep a tally of how we do against each race?

I'm part of a site where this has been done for some time. It's a Black Templar forum, so the ongoing Crusade idea works quite nicely. But then again, this is an Eldar forum, so the ongoing Crusade idea will probably work even better. Thie idea is that every battle report concerning a Templar battle, or a battle involving friends/allies of the Templar (like my Dark Angels) was posted in a Crusade Forum. The Forum Director would set objectives for the Crusade - take a planet, eliminate a leader, destroy a faction, etc. If the Crusade could amass 25 victories, they completed that objective, and the Director set a new one. If they suffered 25 defeats before they gained those victories, however, they failed, and the Director set a new objective reflecting their loss. Quite easy, really.

I suppose if you wanted to include factions, you could, but that would make it far more complex. What they do over at Black Templars is just count any victory towards the total. For example, if the current objective is to take a city held by heretics, even a win over Tyranids would counts towards the requisite 25. The logic behind this was that the army was holding the Tyranids back from the city to keep the rear of the beseiging force safe. If there were numerous Tyranid battles, the next objective would most likely be to cleanse the area of Tyranids. It works quite well, and gives you a forum to develop your characters. The Sergeant of my Second Squad, for example, was seriously wounded in my last campaign game. He is going to become my next Dreadnought.

I'd be happy to help you guys start an ongoing campaign if you'd like.

On the C'tan Support Group we were going to start a Campaign, similar to GW one, and run it over a few different sites. We were going to Invite the Craftworld, Boot Camp, the Black Templar forum, and consider going to Warvault to see who else wanted to join.

Problem was the idea kinda fell on its butt when all the people running it (including myself) became to busy, and nothing was moving forward.

I would be happy to try something smaller scale here, maybe just a little campaign to wet our apetites, and if its successful try again and involve other sites. We'd need 2 to three people to run it (not many simply because its a small site) and that includes scorers, a Fluff writer (or two) and whatever other job needs doing.

The 'continuous' campaign suggestion sounds good, but I am reluctant. Wouldn't it just become dull after a while? 24 victories, move onto the next thing, another 24 victories, move onto the next thing.

I think it would be good if people will get on board as cal says maybe something small

I can see what you're saying about the ongoing Crusade becoming dull, it works at the Templar forums because the Crusade forum is the battle report/fluff forum, and because, well, they're Black Templars.

A full-scale, fluff-supported campaign is much more work, but heck, I'm in.

I'll, as always, put my hand up as fluff writer and overseer. I'll gladly accept anyone who wants to help out as well, but you'll have to think hard if you have the time, or just want to participate. We don't want the whole forum running it.

A second fluff writer is also an idea, as I've found brilliant ideas are born from two people working together.

Finally we need to think of a time frame to run it in.
