Title: My Cod Table With Scenery
Red - December 3, 2006 07:49 PM (GMT)
So I`ve set myself the following goals:
1. build enough CoD scenery to play omega battles on a 6*4 table
2. build a modular table, not reserved for CoD only though.
Here`s my work area:

Pretty messy but I do have a system!
Here`s some WiP stuff:

I put these on 60mm round bases since it`s easier to move them around this way and customise the set up just a tad more than if I`d put them on larger bases. I quite like how these turned out.
Here`s the tank traps and minefield all done:

CoD, various bases for the table:

Just to spice up the table some more. Some street lights, ammo dump, fuel dump and more tank traps (hey I field all infantry so not my problem -lol-)

CoD, my current 3*4 feet CoD "omega level" gaming table
(please ignore the crappy grass table underneath...)

I`ve split the main table into two parts of 2*3 feet each for easy transport.
All buildings/scenery pieces are mounted on 22*22cm bases.
The table is a 100% modular
All the large rubble you see are made out of sprues, very handy for getting rid of all that garbage!
I`ve mixed stuff from the CoD ruined buildings sets & the barricades & walls.
(GWs best sets EVER!!)
The buildings and everything look a lot more bright than it actually is, the "real life" colour has a lot more "moon blue/grey" to it.
Thanks for looking :)

Fantastic, I love it. Im actually working towards somthing very much like that myself. :)
Must admit though that I want my table to be REALLY crowded, with most of the roads just wide enough for a rhino, some a little wider for other stuff. Back alley's, split level's, that sorta stuff.
Anyhoo, back on subject, the only thing I dont like is the barbed wire on 60mm bases. Personally i've always found that 5inch piece's of barbed wire to look better on the battlefield.

Thanks :)
Well the roads are only 4" wide, so a Land Raider will just barely have his tracks on the road. The sponsons however will stop a lot of maneouvering since some buildings are quite close to the road.
The benefit with the 60mm bases are that I can just put them where I want them, or not even place them at all.
Otherwise I`m in the planning stages with the last half of the total table. Don`t have anything solid yet but I do know this:
- bridge w/toxic river feature
- more industrial stuff
- hangar for various vehicles
But again thanks for the kind words :)

All the buildings are nice but the table in general looks very open. Not exactly what I had in mind for a city, but it's not my table and overall it looks great ;)
Are you thinking of adding catwalks and such?
Red - December 4, 2006 08:39 PM (GMT)
Well it really isn`t as open as it can seem from the pic, but of course not having xx number of x storey high buildings add to that impression.
It`s worked a charm so far, played approx 20 games on it this previous month.
The next part of the table will have some other features but some loose walkways that can be added here and there would be a cool addition. I`ll have to think on how to make some.

Well The GW site has a way to make them from I think floor panels. Just go to their home page and go to the CoD section then to the terrain stuff.

The image URLs are probably broken for some reason or another. They might have been deleted or moved. This happens a lot in really old posts, If Red finds his way back perhaps someone can PM him and ask him to edit his post with updated URLs.
