Wow a shiny Eldar forum, anyway I have been working on a forgeworld Avatar for quite awhile now and wanted to get some more feedback on it, he is still extremely WIP, comments and criticisms are welcome.

I am going for a molten magma look and I think I pulled it off quite well.

Words almost escape me! That is freaking awesome! It's skin looks soooo...well dead. It looks like a chared corspe, which is a good thing. Or molten rock that had dried over a long period of time. The red motleness in the cracks and crags of his skin really add to the effect.

The gold and bone look nice, althought I am assuming you have not finished high lighting it yet? Same with the loin cloth. The blood on the hand looks a bit dry to tell truth, I think it would look coller if it was oozing more or looked fresh, but it is a bit hard to tell in this photo.


Could you take more shots, of the entire model and from all different angles?

Yeah the gold and bone areas are almost done they just need their final highlight on certain areas, I'm concentrated more on the wailing doom now as it's so damn cool.

I was thinking of doing comission work but I don't think I can compete with other studios out there except for blue table painting as they suck. :D

Anyway I'm trying to get as much done as possible to the avatar but other stuff is getting in the way.

Not bad, would like to see some further shots though. Also, you say that it is WIP, just out of curiosity, what parts (if any) are finished?

The magma body at the moment but I may go back and redo and touch up areas I don't like.

Lol I still remember people taking the piss out of him saying he is too thin, definately an Evil Dead 2 Moment "WHO'S LAUGHING NOW HAHAHA" except without the chainsaw on hand thing :D

Also after looking at the guantlets for sometime I kinda got in me head that they look alittle to dull, I was thinking of giving them some colour like the bluish purple I have with the toga, what do you people think?

LOL, I still think he's to skinny, but what would I know, im a Nurgle fan ;) As for painting yellow, I always re-undercoat with white when painting yellow, otherwise it just takes WAY too many coats of paint!
