Anyway, i've decided to take up playing the guitar, so i've gone and gotten a full starter kit for Christmas, so in just under a month i will be annoying the cr*p outta everyone with my inability to play the guitar :D So in just under a month i will also be a full on metal head, because everyone knows you're not a true metal head until you can blast out some tunes on an electric guitar B)

Anyone else got an electric guitar? Any pointers for how to learn it quickly and such?

I got one. I suppose it depends on how you learn to play. I learn by tabs which I find extremly easy.

Also I think Brak plays guitar.

Well all of my equipment is Peavey, because that's who makes the kit, and the guitar is the Raptor, in black. It looks pretty cool, my friend tells me it's a stratocaster (whatever that is) and has a floating bridge, which he tells me is annoying for beginners because it makes the guitar detune quicker and the jack can get in the way, but i'll get used to it, i'm already getting a right handed guitar when i naturally go left handed :D

umm if your left handed wouldnt it make more sense it getting a left handed guitar?? it should be easier for you...

If you want to beome a metalhead. Here is some good advice.

Build up your neck muscles becasue you will be doing a lot of head banging and guess what they hurt your neck. So yeah build up your neck muscles.

Also find your own stlye of head banging. Just try it out and see what you like

lol,, head banging just doesn't look good for me though, i don't have long hair, it's just not the same <_< , but i'll try anyway :D

and about the right hand/left hand thing, i think i'm kinda ambidexterous (sp?), because i'm right handed in nearly everything, but with things like playing pool or guitar or something i'm left handed, but because i'm right handed in nearly everything i'm still ok doing things right handed when i would naturally do them left. I was playing my friends guitar right handed and i was fine, so it should be ok, either that or i could just restring the guitar and play it upside down B)

With the head banging thing, it doesn't matter if you don't have long hair, I have a shaved head. Head Banging isn't really about how it looks its about how much effort into it. And therefore how much you love the music your playing.
