Ok, as there isn't much time until the end of the year I figure most people don't have the time they require to work on a new masterpiece model. We're all sort of just counting down the days until christmas and we can expand our armies and get new projects.
So for now I think it apropriate to have a fiction competition, with the following criteria:
- All stories must be based on a facet of the 40K universe. No Fantasy this time around, however you can write stories concerning BFG, or anything to do with 40K.
- Stories should be between 600 to 1000 words. Allowing people to enter both shorter stories, but also allowing the more rabid writers to roam free a little bit. (All writers are expected to reach 600, and not very far over 1000.)
- Writers should approach the story with a comical attitude. In the spirit of festivities, the story must include the theme of christmas somewhere in it. This can range from a snowy planet with christmas tree forests as the staging of an epic battle, to a Chaos Lord planning to ruin christmas. (not disimilar to the grinch) Writers are encouraged to take this include this theme but keep the story serious, or go to town on this theme and give us a real comedy. Just remember that it still has to be 40K themed, (some seriousness) but has to include christmas (some sillyness.)
Now we require judges. Anyone who isn't entering and is going to be around for christmas should volunteer. I myself am leaving in less than a months time for a couple of weeks, and so won't be around to judge it. If I put an expirey date before then you may not have enough time to let your creativness really run free. Can I get anyone who will be around to put their hand up?
All entries should be PMed to this person, who ever they may be. Then from the 17th of December (expirey date) that person will post one entry a day for everyone to read. Once all entries are posted, then a voting topic will open for people to vote for which sotry they liked best.
Entrants may vote, but they shouldn't vote for themselves.
So get writing everyone, and most of all have fun!
