Title: I Ran Over A Farseer!

Inquisitor Liechtenstein - September 20, 2006 11:52 PM (GMT)
OMG! What have I done! I've run over Cal's farseer! :D

Well, what happened is last weekend I had Cal over to my place, and the first battle we had was Guard vs Eldar.

Essentially, except for taking two wounds off a wraithlord, my main line of Guardsmen didn't do much at all. I ended up taking on most of Cal's Eldar with a Demolisher Russ, a Hellhound, and an eight man storm trooper squad. Of these heroic units, the Russ and storm troopers were eventually dragged down, but the hellhound had a moment of glory in the last turn or two of the game. My Hellhound was shaken by Cal's farseer in combat, so I hit the accelerator and tankshocked his Banshees and Farseer. The Banshees happily stood aside, but Cal, in a moment of his divine wisdom, thought "what the hell" and decided he'd try out a bit of glory, and stood his farseer up again the speeding monstrosity. The room was soon pierced by a high pitched shriek (whether it was Cal or the farseer, I don't know...) and a loud thud (whether it was his farseer being un over, or Cal fainting on the floor, I once more, don't know...), and all that was left of Cal's farseer was a red streak on the dozer blade of the hellhound....

Arrogant pansies. Well, some of them. :P

Couldn't have met his end in a more mundane and egotistical fashion. I love it.

ok ok so I sacrificed my farseer to be horribly crushed and mangled under the treds of the hell hound!

Why don't you tell him about the two battles we had afterwards Lictenstein? ;)

We had an Eldar rematch later that day, and using a Wave Serpent I got 10 Banshees right in the middle of his firing line. So with nothing much left to do, he charged my beauties with almost ALL of his infantry! It was rather amusing to see 10 Banshees surrounded by about 30 Guardsmen including Storm Troopers.

:D Oh that was fun! As Cal said, I charged in 30 or so guardsmen. After seven were cut down by the Banshees, I rolled 45 dice for my attacks, and I dragged down seven of them myself and managed to draw the combat!

In all I didn't do too badly in that second Eldar Gaurd one, and my loss to the Necrons wasn't nearly aas massive asa its been in the past.... <_<

You guys make me wish there was a decent gamer here abouts.

Calaith - September 21, 2006 12:43 PM (GMT)

What would have been funny had you only killed six banshees, and the rest of the Guardsmen fled. 30...or by that time 23 Guardsmen running in all directions from the side of a hill! :D

The Necron game was actually quite good for me. It wasn't the biggest margin I've ever won by, but those Wraiths and Scarabs werepretty quick getting into your lines and tying up that entire flank. It's a pitty they got caught out in the open a few times...

@ Chivi,

Don't have any friends about to game often? Or don't have any 'decent' players about to play?

Chivi'queleste - September 22, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
I have a problem with the locals being arrogant jerks or adolescent babies. No one seems to be able to have a good time playing. They either moan about every 'casualty' or rules lawyer and harrass their opponent until the game ceases to be a game, but a personal contest of just who is the better person regardless of the game being played.

My IG are 17W-2L-1D in tourney play.
My Eldar are 3W-0L-0D in tourney play.

My temper for the jerks that show up: 0W-6L-1D in tourney patience.

Yeah, Cal and myself get along pretty well, and we're pretty fair to each other during our games (half the time we remind each other of things the other has forgotten). Unfortunately for me, Cal is my only opponent. Cal however has a younger brother (who I am yet to play) and he has some friends who are emerging with armies, so we may have even more variety in our games soon.

Calaith - September 22, 2006 03:03 AM (GMT)

Yeah it does kinda suck when you have those kind of players. I'm not a very peoples person, so I generally just lay down if they pull me up for something as long as its in the rules and just get on with the game.
