ok so i am writeing a story it is a romance about a sniper who falls in love with this women i have the first chapter but i have runout of ideas at the moment it is set in WWII
but i think i will set on a 40k world now this is where i need your help give me some ideas tell me what you want too see happen

What about something during the Gothic War (for a bit of a change), although for that it would be more fitting for it to be a ships captain, and then why would they be on the surface of a planet long enough to fall in love? But then again... *wanders off waffling something about battleship captains, love and planetfall*

Seriously though, it would make a neat story, but why does it always have to be a sniper? Why not a storm trooper or matybe even an Arbitrator for something different. About the world however, I'd recommend either making up your own, so that way you can design it how you want, or look through GW archives and WDs and find a suitable sonflict to set it in.

well i like the sniper cause he would be alone so he would not have say a commissiar yelling him too shot her or another leader

Its an interesting concept. Personally I think its better explored outside of the 40K universe, but if you want to have leaping aliens and what not in the story then 40K it is.

I suggest that this woman is a citizen on a world your sniper is deffending. Maybe while he is scouting out a place to sniper from, he rescues her from a village that was evacuated but for some reason she did not wish to leave. Then she is alone with him for a while why he goes about snipering, watching enemy movement and the likes.

You could explore some cool relationships. ie: Is this sniper a ladies man and very cocky, swaggering about and so just about falls in love with anything with two legs. Or is he a loner and reluctantly falls in love with her? Does he have a passion for snipering and loves his gun more than he has anyone else, except for her now. Does he have issues with people, or girls? And how did he become a sniper.

Essentially to make this into a good story you'll need to get really far inside this guys head, to compensate for the lack of other people around.

I like Cals possible idea on the Guy being ery reluctant. If thats the case I can jsut see him now: A career soldier, with nothing to love but his gun and his own prowess, a cocky bugger, but a social recluse, a scout who distances himself from the rest of humanity (and xenology); and then this annoying little prate of a girl comes along, falls in love with him and won't leave him alone. Eventually he admits that he has feelings for her, and then right at the end, once they've both acknowledged this, either the girl gets killed and the guy goes on a rampage, either dying in a bloody glory or surviving and becomming even more of a recluse, or they guy takes a bullet for the girl (either that or EXTERMINATUS!!!!!).
