I've heard that the orks are after the Eldar (40K that is, I think the fantasy orcs are being released next months for memory).

Calaith - August 13, 2006 07:44 AM (GMT)

I'll agree with Lictenstein. I'm guessing Orks early next year, followed by Dark Eldar late next year.

I've also heard rumour of the Necrons being re-released in 18 months or so. Aparently theres going to be new warmachines, a larger Tomb Spider, and an Outsider model. These are just rumours though I got off another site, not sure if any of them are really true.

i've heard that Orks are going to be the next xeno team to be redone, but somewhere i read that the Dark Angels are getting a redo either late this year or early next year

Calaith - August 13, 2006 08:09 AM (GMT)

Wouldn't surprise me....my guess would be:

Eldar, then Orks, then Dark Angels, then Dark Eldar (get the Dark's out of the way :P ), the the Blood Angels I reckon,

Farseer Concerta - August 13, 2006 08:15 AM (GMT)
what about the space wolfs cal?

Calaith - August 13, 2006 08:18 AM (GMT)

Maybe...but douptful for a few years. They kinda got an update with the 13th company in my opinion, and the Dark Angels and Blood Angels chapter are far older.

Inquisitor Liechtenstein - August 13, 2006 10:12 AM (GMT)
I don't know about the other space marine codexes (such as DA or BA) but the Space Wolf one probably won't be re-released for a while, as it is still very usable, and there are only minor bits and pieces that arn't right, such as entries that can be found in the SM codex and a couple of things arn't right points wise. Other than that, it still works pretty well.

Chivi'queleste - August 14, 2006 01:06 AM (GMT)
As GW tends to swap between the myriad Space Marine armies and the lesser imperials/xenos, I'd wager that Dark Angels (or another MEq army) will follow the Eldar. Then, let the Orks WAAAAAAAAAAGH until their little artichoke hearts' are content.

Personally, I'd like to see the DA, BA, SW, and BT rules all done simultaneously, in order to insure their 'equality'.

Yeah, I know what you mean. By the time that these four are re-released, it will probably be time to re-release codex SM again! (a slight exageration...) I personally think that they should either be all in the same codex, or all released over the course of four or so months. Now, they are just too spread out, and they end up superceeding each other with shared pieces of wargear, etc....

Reaper - August 14, 2006 10:53 AM (GMT)
out of the main chapters i would much like to see the Dark Angels get the next update, they really aren't unique enough to be a stand alone army right now imo. and i would really like to see them get a decent amount of fluff, even though for the DA lot's of fluff would be unfluffy

farseer of beil-tarun - August 16, 2006 12:43 AM (GMT)
i'd love to see dark eldar redone, they have the oldest codex for 6th ed.

Farseer Concerta - August 16, 2006 07:31 AM (GMT)
where in 4th ed fantasy is starting 6th or 7th ed like now or something

Hardrainfalling - August 16, 2006 06:49 PM (GMT)
another marine chap is due at xmass proberbly blood angels
then orks are long over due (orc rules are being redone for new warhammer game) then possibly the last inquisation book
for warhammer , the army of cathay is due soon (chinese)
A boarding actions 40k rule book is also a possibilty as city fight is supposed to be the first in a series

Chivi'queleste - August 17, 2006 12:25 AM (GMT)
They said cityfight was to be the first in a series 3 years ago, too.

GW seems to be pretty much like any other business I've worked for...

Kinda scattered when it comes to organization. Seems like they (GW's departments) keep stepping on one another's toes, forcing them to begin again more often than not.

Inquisitor Liechtenstein - August 17, 2006 11:52 PM (GMT)
I think I remember hearing somewhere that the next SM Chapter to be released would be the Dark Angles.

Harlequin111 - November 19, 2006 07:45 PM (GMT)
i've also heard that the DA's are next

the pattern is supposed to be SM - xeno - SM - xeno etc so it'll probably be Dark Angels, then orks then Blood Angels then Dark Eldar
im not sure about the order but those four are almost definitely the next four to be done (having spoken to Gav Thorpe myself...)

however, there's no mention of a full cathay army i've heard that its unlikely that there will be any 'new' armies for warhammer for a long while...

Farseer Saitha - November 19, 2006 07:56 PM (GMT)
As for fantasy, Empire are the next army set for January, but this isn't a rumour, it's been confirmed and advertised in WD.

Reaper - November 20, 2006 02:15 AM (GMT)
I dunno about the 40k universe, but empire are definately the next fanasty team (they're already showing sneak peaks), after that i think it's meant to be High Elves, although if not High Elves are early in the next lots of teams to be redone, Cathay are miles off release, they're going to update the army books for every team to bring them to 7th edition before any new teams are released, and a lot of people say that chaos dwarves are making a comeback because their stats were put back into the rulebook, i think after all of those you can expect to see Cathay, so they're years away :D
