Title: New Necron Characters

necodermiac - May 14, 2006 08:21 AM (GMT)
This is dedicated to necron players wanting to experiment a little. Whever it b more c'tan (new or old) or even flayed one lords. All ideas are acceptable (though, no eldar-lovin' metal ppl are accepted at all!!!, sorry i had to point it out).

Calaith - May 14, 2006 09:24 AM (GMT)

Yeah he's right necodermiac, this topic would do better elsewhere. This forum is more for talking tactics on the Necron race. Fear not, as it only takes me a few simple seconds.

I'd also like to make a quick attempt at making a Flayed One Lord.

'Flayed Lord' (130pts)

Stats: See Necron Lord entry

Number/Squad: 1

Weapons: Warscythe (Must be a Warscythe, no SoL)

Options: Flayed Lord may not be given a Destroyer Body, however he may be given a Nightmare Shroud, even if another Lord has already taken one.

Character: See Necron Lord entry

Special Rules

Necron: See page 13 of the Necron codex

Infiltraitors/Deep Strike: In the right circumstnances, the Necron Lord may infiltrate, but only with accompanying Flayed Ones. He may Deep Strike regardless of wether he is allowed or not, but only with an accompanying unit of Flayed Ones.

Move Through Cover: See Flayed One Entry

Terrorfying Visage: See Flayed One entry.

This guy would be mean if given a Gaze of Flame. :)

Cheers, Cal

Farseer Concerta - May 14, 2006 09:26 AM (GMT)
sound nice cal

necodermiac - May 15, 2006 06:30 AM (GMT)
mayb also allowing two units of flayed ones as a single elite choice (But there must be at least two units on the table and one accompanying him at all times)? Possibly upgrades to deep striking, i was thinking something upon the lines as "may choose to re-roll their scatter, but must stick with the second result? Just a couple of things allowing them to be more useful and boost it up another 30 points

Meaphet Ran - May 17, 2006 09:43 AM (GMT)
hmm ok lets give this a go

Scorpians

QUOTE

              WS| BS | S | T | W | I | A | Ld | Sv+
Scorpian  4    4    5    5  2    3  3  10    3+

weapons: tail and claws

Special Rules: Monstrous Creature... (big supprise for those who have seen my scorpian lord)

even just like this i feel hes missing seomthing (other than points and squad size)

and heres something i stole from the CSG.

traitor tech preists
ws: 3
bs: 4
s: 3
t: 3
i: 3
w: 2
a: 2
ld: 9

Equipment:
Power Armor (3+ save)
Refractor Field (5+ Inv. Save)
Power Weapon (no armor saves in cc)
Plasma Pistol (Str. 7 AP 2 R 12" Pistol)

Special Rules:

Traitor: All Imperial models hit this model on a +3 in close combat

Improved Bionics: uses normal Binoic Rules, but model gets back up on a +5 instead of a 6

Tech-Master: any model within 2" of the Tech Priest that fails a WBB roll can re-roll it once, the 2nd roll stands. Tomb Spyders within 2" of the Priest can re-roll their attempt to produce a Scarb Swarm.
If the Tech Priest uses his Tech Master ability to attempt to repair any Necrons, then he cannot shoot in the shooting phase, or make any attacks in the assault phase of thsat turn. He may move as normal.
Tech Priest re-rolls cannont be used in combination with the Monolith's Portal in an attampet to get a until multiple re-rolls for it's WBB.

I'm not sure about the points, I was thinking maybe 50-60. or maybe even 70-80

he'd be a 0-1 Elite choice, with each choice being 1-3 Tech Priests that deploy and move as Independant characters.

I think it's fairly balanced, as his ability only applies to models within 2" of him, and not whole units. I think he'd be useful to keep around a unit of Destroyers to make sure they came back, or running with a pack of 2-3 Tomb Spyders to make sure they keep pumping out Scarab Swarms with little risk. Heck, he could even be a caddie for a Necron Lord and make sure he got back up.

Gauss flamer: str 5 ap 4 up to 1 immortal may exchance his blaster for the 'ere flamer for no extra cost...

necodermiac - May 17, 2006 10:49 AM (GMT)
Scorpions sound great, heres some sp rlz 2 boost it up a notch

Scuttlers: Scorpions, despite their size, are incredibly agile due to numerous spindly legs and so are treated exactly like cavalry in terms of movement

Stinger: The scorpions were designed for fighting other necrons ( jst a little bit of fluff...) and so there stinger is designed to destroy living metal. Super-heating linear acceleration chambers to forse the gauss-technology to evaperate it is then released in a cooling system, thus triggering the condensation process. The newly formed acid is only penetrating after a certain time period (usually 5 seconds, depending on the substance) and so does not affect the scorpion as it is sprayed out in half this time.

The scorpions stinger is highly acidic and so any wounds inflicted by the scorpion are treated as poison 2+ weapons.

Necron: Uses the rules for necrons as described in page 13 of the rulebook

Attacks should be 4 (1)- the (1) standing 4 stinger attack

75 PTS EACH

UNIT SIZE - 1-3

COUNT AS SPYDERS IN THE FACT THAT THEY CAN MOVE AS independant CHARACTERS, CAN....

necodermiac - May 17, 2006 10:50 AM (GMT)
mayB u should write fluff Meaphet Ran, u had the idea (i think)

necodermiac - May 18, 2006 09:30 AM (GMT)
0-1 PARIAH LORD

Sometimes religious leaders are the most powerful threat in battle. Using this knowledge the Deceiver has decided to create a new power. Giving the illusion that there gods are fake or somewhat trainted (referenced inside of codex)

These leaders forfeit both their souls and their bodies in the fanatical belief that there is a possibility of escaping damnation or the wrath of their old gods. They are fortunate enough to keep their mind and act as super-cyborgs on the battlefield as they draw the ones like themselves (Pariahs)

Stats
WS| BS | S | T | W | I | A | Ld | Sv+
Pariah Lord 7 6 6 6 4 5 3 10 3+

POINTS- 165

Lonely: When a pariah lord walks the battlefield amongst a horde of brainless skeletons they become extremely lonely and so prefer pariahs in their midsts. Note this is only because the pariah lord's still have consciousness and so feel like they don't belong otherwise and so choose to have lots of them.

The normal 0-1 rule for pariahs does not apply when a pariah is chosen, but it now applies to immortals instead.
Also there must be at least one unit of pariahs in the game

Mark of the Deceiver: The deceiver has created illusions powerful enough to make the Pariah lord's believe that they are on the road to becoming Demigods. The paria lord and any unit he joins become fearless, note that this does NOT remain if the Pariah lord leaves the unit.

Pariah Lord: A pariah lord is the equivelent of a pariah and is thus armed in the same manner and is counted as a psychic abomination. Also, they are so powerful that they count as 2 lord choices.

There's all my ideas, please feel free to add your opinion if u feel like something is not right or if you have any changes you would like to add.

Farseer Concerta - May 18, 2006 09:50 AM (GMT)
no invulrebel save

necodermiac - May 18, 2006 09:54 AM (GMT)

Meaphet Ran - May 18, 2006 11:06 AM (GMT)
yeah it was my idea, ive had a scorpian lord for over a year now, im not the biggest fluff writer, but im one hell of a general

necodermiac - May 21, 2006 02:52 AM (GMT)
Cool, so what's really killing me is how you made it, could you share it with us?
Thnx, neco

Meaphet Ran - May 22, 2006 04:05 AM (GMT)
no worries, theres verylittle work actually involved.
first youll need to go out and buy, a destroyer Lord, a Tomb Spider and a Wraith.

then assumle destroyer lord but cut out the small tail section between the main body of the destroyer. pull out all the legs for the tomb spider and cut them so theyre seperate. then fill the exhaust ports of the destroyer body with green stuff and stick the legs in, this will take a little work. finally the hardest part. cut the tail of the wrath off just under where the body starts and then place it where the destroyer tail thing was and then green stuff it in so it doesnt look off.

ill try and find the link to my picture so i can show all of those who havnt seen it

necodermiac - May 31, 2006 08:25 AM (GMT)
oh... I just started making one REALLY big, kick-arse tomb scorpion using the defiler body, green stuff, necron gauss weapon bitz, stuff outta my Bitz Box and more green stuff. It's about 6" high, towering over the battlefield, lookming over daemons.you've really impressed me in the way you've modelled such a cool thing without a) stretching the budget; and B) it's effective. luv 2 c that picture

Farseer Concerta - May 31, 2006 10:51 AM (GMT)
well what about a cron titian

jerseydevil - November 11, 2006 11:08 PM (GMT)
Wraith Lord. before the Medusa V campaign, the GW store I play at had a pre-campaign campaign. they had commander upgrades for each army. the Necron Lord could be given a Wraith body for 30 points, and either +1 A or WS for 10 points. this gave him the Wraith Flight and Phase Shift special rules. I equiped him with a resorb and warscyth. he kicked alot of butt.

even made a model to represent the upgrades.

Calaith - November 12, 2006 12:24 AM (GMT)

I think someone is looking for that model on the CSG! You might want to go and check out a post in either the Painting or Converting part of the board. I can't quite remember where it was...

Cal

jerseydevil - November 12, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
thanks Cal, I'll look and see.

Necros - November 12, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
TROOP CHOICE
Necron Cultist - 13PTS each base
The Necron Cultist is one whose mind has been cracked by the outburst of Necron activity on their area. They have been taken in - told secrets by the Deciever - and seek to let others know of this prophecy
What they actually tell of in the end is nothing but lies soaked into a dead brain set to a endless loop of madness - And to show this the necrons can shut off their pawns whenever they want.

Cultist
WS3 BS0 S4 T4 I1 A2 Ld8
Save of 4+ Normal
10-30 per unit

Demagogue (+15 Pts)
WS5 BS1 S3 T5 I2 A1 Ld10
Save of 3+ Normal
(MUST be taken)

Apart from the Demagogue, none of this unit benefits from the We'll be Back rule. The Demagogue may take things from the Necron Armoury, and all of them may bring Disruption Field for +4pts per model
All of the models with a Ballistic Skill may carry Gauss Flayers, and those without Balistic Skills may pay +4 Points each to gain Ballistic Skill 2
Note: There can only be 2 Cultist Groups per 1 10 man Necron Warrior Squad, or 3 per 20 man Squad REGARDLESS on whether it is Apocalypse or Not

Necros - November 12, 2007 10:14 PM (GMT)
The Undying Legion (Apocalypse Datasheet)

Costs 50 Points (per squad included above minimum) + models
e.g: 3 Necron Warrior Squads + 2 Lord = 100 Points + Models

What is included:
  • 1+ Necron Lord (On Foot)
  • 2+ Necron Warrior Squads
  • 2+ Monoliths (Each Monolith is a separate Squad)
  • 15+ Tomb Spyders (3 extra = 50 more points)

What does it do:
Strike Force: All Models in the formation must remain within 24 inches of a Necron Lord or 12 inches of a Monolith

Despair Aura: With such a formation of devastating Necron Troops in one place, only a daring or dumb person who assault them. All Squads (excluding Squads with Independant Characters) must take a Morale Check at -2 Leadership than usual or fall back 2D6 Inches in a direction dictated by the Necron Player. Once a Squad has experienced this once, for the rest of the battle they take Leadership Tests at -1 When affected by THIS FORMATION'S DESPAIR AURA

We're not dead yet!: The normal rules for We'll be back are revoked except from a 4+ needing to be rolled, however all Necrons in this formation have 9 Leadership unless they would normally have less while within 12 inches of a Necron Lord (this disables, however, any decreases in Leadership later except as a result of close combat)

Inferiority Complex: When the last Necron Lord is destroyed in this formation, each Necron Squad in the formation must take a Morale Check. If they fail this, Roll a die for each model in the failed squad and place a model on its side for each 4+ rolled. During your next Standby Phase, roll normal We'll Be Back rolls for these models. We're Not Dead Yet! Rules are also disabled

Formation Advancement: To allow Lords to co-operate more with this formation, you may add +25 points to each Lord's costs (not included in max wargear allowed from armoury) to give them 2 more wounds each at the cost of 1 Attack and 1 Initiative. However, all Pariahs in the same unit (as a Bodyguard) as the lord gain 1 wound each too

Spacefrisian - December 10, 2007 03:59 PM (GMT)
I also had an idea for some Necron stuff would like to see what you think of it.

Necron Giant:
A huge towering monster who of which some have recently awoken. They once more fight for their masters.

Ws Bs S T W I A Ld Sv Points
4 4 10 8 3 3 2 n/a 3+ 150

Type:
-Monstrous creature

Weapons:
-Gaus cannon

Special rules:
-Such is the sight of him on the battlefield that many have come to fear it. Any morale check that a unit wich is in BtB with him automaticly receives -1 on their Ld.

-Soulless: Pshycic powers wich could affect him won't take effect. EG Force weapons and such.

-No teleport: For being way to big to teleport it may not be teleported by any means.

This is just a first draft but i guess the idea is clear.

darthken - December 12, 2007 08:49 AM (GMT)
Now thats something id like to see. Maybe incorporate some of the tomb spyder rules into him and he could take its place.

Farseer Eldas - August 16, 2008 01:42 PM (GMT)
Sorry to sound like a kill-joy here, but why are we talking about necrons in more than just a fluf sence on an eldar forum,
or conversly how bout we start up a new board for 'foriegn' armies.
Just a thought.....

DarthIbis - August 18, 2008 03:35 AM (GMT)
A: Two years.
Q: How long has this topic been on the board.

At this point, I don't discount any active discussion as long as it's in the relevant forum... but that may just be me.

(Sorry for the mini-rant.)
