Title: Sai-bre
Description: One of many 'lost' craftworlds.
Farseer Saitha - May 9, 2006 09:27 PM (GMT)
I was told to post some info and general fluff here and so I shall. This is the first installment of my ideas.
PART 1-
Throughout the history of the Craftworld Eldar, their people have become lost or disenchanted or captured by some devious force. Some of these have reappeared over time, such as the famous Craftworld Altansar. Craftworld Sai-Bre is one of these.
Origin-
No-one knows for certain the area that the Eldar of Sai-Bre are from. For a time they moved around the Ultima Segmentum for a time, at the behest of the Grand Council. They once maintained close links with Ulthwé for an unknown reason. That ended long ago...
Disapearence-
Like Altansar, Sai-Bre was on the edges of the Eye of Terror when disaster struck. A gigantic flare of Warp Energy shot out from the centre of that hellish nether-region. Even the farseers of the doomed Craftworld did not predict the eruption, yet its effect was felt faintly by all the Craftworld Eldar as they sensed their brethern's fear and panic. All order broke down on the gigantic world-ship as it entered the Warp.
New Order-
A group of Farseers, led by the young Saitha, re-enforced order and successfully guided the Craftworld out of immediate danger. They soon learnt that they were trapped in a strange Warp phenomenone which was dragging them across the Warp. For six-thousand years they were in constant danger of being destroyed by malignant Warp occourences and the farseers and warlocks were stretched to their limits guiding the majestic Craftworld and no disturbence could be tolerated. To make sure the most gifted psykers of Sai-Bre could concentrate on finding a way out, the Elite Guardians were created. A force of the most gifted Eldar warriors protected the psykers at all times. Even Eldar sometimes go astray and the Elite Guardians would prove very useful...
To be continued...
I will continue if the response is good.

The interest is here. ;)
Sounds very cool thus far.
Calaith - May 10, 2006 07:18 AM (GMT)
I like the ideas here. Very cool. :)
I'm guessing you use an Ulthwe' list then?
Just quickly, if you are only posting your Craftworlds fluff, I'm moving this topic to a more apropriate board.
Cheers, Calaith
Meaphet Ran - May 10, 2006 11:08 AM (GMT)
not bad, im still yet to write up any fluff for my necrons... something about only being able to do it from a necron lords point of view makes it hard. but its on my "to-do at some stage" list
Farseer Saitha - May 10, 2006 04:04 PM (GMT)
No, not an Ultwé list. You see, there will be rules posted in one of the installments. Just working on a format at the moment and filling in some gaps in the backstory.
Sorry I posted in the wrong place. I got slightly confused when I was told to put some info in the 'Craftworld'. It seems you were talking about the site, not a section with the same name... ;)
Meaphet Ran - May 10, 2006 11:14 PM (GMT)
no that was my bad, i had directed you to the place where you posted it, simply because i didnt know what you were going to post.
its always good to see gamers who still create background and about the layout of their armies, unlike many "new" gamers who pretty much play to win...
perhaps you could try beefing up the sections a bit because origin is just over a line in length, it shouldnt be to hard to up this to a short paragraph. other than that its good, would post more but ETSA just rocked up to replace my meter gunna loose power for a few.
Calaith - May 11, 2006 07:10 AM (GMT)
Actually this might have been my bad. As I thought this post was only going to be about fluff, I moved it. However if your going to post your amry's rules, army lists, and tactics, put it in 'The Craftworld' board (the 'tactica' one.)
Alternitively if your Craftworld uses House rules, you could put it on the new House Rules board.... Sorry if this is a bit confusing...
Looking forward to hearing more though.
Meaphet Ran - May 11, 2006 11:37 AM (GMT)
well decide when more is posted but i have a feeling it will end up in concertas much loved house rules...
Farseer Saitha - May 11, 2006 05:10 PM (GMT)
Still fiddling around with some of the rules, most likely it will be posted tomorrow.
Inquisitor Liechtenstein - May 12, 2006 05:59 AM (GMT)
Very interesting, I look forward to the next installment.

PART 2-
Demonic Incursion-
As the Grand Council of Seers (Different from a Seer Council) guided the Craftworld through the Warp, evil stirred onboard... Despite the hundreds upon thousands of Psychic Wards, Demonic influences had crept on to the Craftworld. It took hundreds of years for their presence to become noticible, but it did. Eldar succembed to the influences in the lower levels of the Giagantic World-Ship and singular devotion to an aspect of Khaine came second place to the worship of the Dark Gods.
The first inkling the Grand Council had was not very subtle... While guiding the Craftworld, a demon became attracted to the power of a young Warlock. The demon ripped through the unfortunate Eldar, and the two others he was conducting the rites with. Just in time, Farseer Saitha Ulbre used her powers to banish the demon, though she was nearly taken by the demon in the process.
The Grand council met, and using their power they discovered the location of a group of Eldar who strayed from the Path. The cultists had summoned the Demon, as they believed that the Dark Gods would lead them out of the Warp if they could have the souls of the Grand Council. The Elite Guardians mobilised and descended to the depths of the Craftworld.
Blood ran thick in the Wraithbone streets of the Craftworld... Just at the height of their victory, the cultists killed themselves and a Greater Demon appeared. The Demon slaughtered the Eldar, yet it alone could not defeat a Craftworld. Aspect Warriors poured from all corners of the Craftworld and hacked down the Greater Demon. The remaining cultists took advantage of this and sacrificed the wounded. Demons appeared throughout the Craftworld. All over the Craftworld the denizens of Sai-Bre paid the price for the treachery of the few. At the end of the day, the Eldar were victorious and celebrated their grand victory.
The Dark Gods became bored with Sai-Bre, and the Craftworld was ejected from its horibble prison. The next chapter in their history was to be revealed...
Elite Guardians-
Assigned to protect high-ranking members of the Grand Council, the Elite Guardians have become an aspect in their own right after the Day of Darkness.

Calaith - May 12, 2006 11:00 PM (GMT)
Once again a brilliant story Saitha. I really really enhoyed that. :D
As to your unit though....I don't see why you don't just use Dire Avengers and call them the Elite Guardians? Their pretty much the same, apart from the fact that you can't take a warlock with them, and your oponent would be more willing to let you use them. Still, I'll wait for more to come out before I give my final judgement. ;)
Cheers, Cal
Inquisitor Liechtenstein - May 13, 2006 08:56 AM (GMT)
Very very good. This is really interesting.
I agree with Cal though, it would be easier to just use Dire Avengers. Also, with this path, you could use Warlock models to represent the Exarch, and use a Dire sword and distract (which can have some kind of background behind both).
Farseer Saitha - May 13, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
Good point. I didn't realise the similarities. Still, it has a relation to the next chapter. A reworking of the unit may be in order...
Meaphet Ran - May 14, 2006 03:59 AM (GMT)
its good, but i shall reserve my final judgement till theres more to critique, but so far it is excellent
Farseer Saitha - May 15, 2006 09:38 PM (GMT)
The whole next part is in doubt, after seeing the new War Walkers, I have begun to think of a Tyranid attack on Sai-Bre which has similarities to the Machine attack on Zion in the Matrix Revoloutions... I'm curious as to opinions on the next part.
Basic idea:
War Walkers and Wraithlords defend the docking area against Gargolyes and Winged Rippers to give the rest a chance to fortify the Inner City of the Craftworld.
Farseer Concerta - May 16, 2006 07:45 AM (GMT)
Calaith - May 16, 2006 10:10 AM (GMT)
The Tyranid thing has been done before. I advise a Necron one?
Alternatively the craftworld could be a 'scout' Craftworld using a large number of Rangers and War Walkers, and then the Elite Guardians when things turn ugly as the cavalry?
These are just suggestions, its entirely your Craftworld.
Meaphet Ran - May 16, 2006 10:22 AM (GMT)
yeah you could make a good one with necrons, with the necrons teleporting into the craftworld whilst a harvest fleet closes in for the kill
Farseer Saitha - May 16, 2006 08:19 PM (GMT)
Hmmm..... I like it... As for scout elements, Sai-Bre uses Armoured War Walkers as Heavy 'Infantry', while also using the lesser ones as scouts. Armoured war Walkers are an opportunity for me to use some War Walkers converted from the new ones coming out later this year.
Inquisitor Liechtenstein - May 18, 2006 06:13 AM (GMT)
Just be careful that the Tyranid attack (if you choose to do it) doesn't too closely resemble the Iyandan one. Otherwise, it's still sounding great. ;)
