imopen2 - January 20, 2006 09:45 PM (GMT)
Minnesota BIZNATCH

I was thinking about attending, but the event organizers don't do deck registration, so cheating is just another part of the game. The same goes double when it isn't a base set.

tidal kraken - January 21, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
Nope, since there isn't a good store within a hundred mile radius of me.

ChocoCid - January 21, 2006 03:51 AM (GMT)
L1 testing in atlanta prerel.

wtf?
no registration...at all?
that is fucktarded, we used to have to exchange decks with others after we registered but now we just register our decks and then play them.
it suits me better that way because i am such a lucksac at opening packs.
i mean come on, i have never missed the prize payout in 7 prereleases.

Maybe for you, but in general only one the first day do they let you keep your packs, after that people have cards so you give them to someone else. No regisration is really odd though, if you can just remember the rares he might show, have him deck checked, it is very rare that you will see all 5 in his md.

Horos - January 21, 2006 05:34 PM (GMT)
I would go if it weren't for that Lab Report and 7 pages worth of Calculus homework due Monday and Tuesday. Not to mention I have to start on my English Essay as soon as I get the chance (right now I'm just killing time since I just woke up and am waiting on my parents to arrive so I can meet them for lunch).

goblinmatt - January 21, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
No deck reg. at mine too.

I started off 2-0 then got mana screwed/flooded the next two games :bangwall

At least I pulled a w/b dual.

SnK-Arcbound - January 22, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
I went 3-1, getting 8 packs+challenge round. I got one R/G dual that I traded. Someone opened a tourny pack containing 18 rares!!! He had to draft with other cards, but he got the rares back after, including a foil watery grave!

I wasn't that lucky, I went 0-1 drop at the 2headed giant. But, big but! I pulled a life from the loam and the B W dual plus bought a VF unlimited Underground Sea for $25! The dealer thought it was revised. Then I asked the other dealer how much they would buy from me from and they said $28! So I feel that I won! I hope that all made sense!

P.S. -- 12 years olds are annoying!

topdecker - January 22, 2006 03:49 PM (GMT)
went 4-3 just missing packs, as usual (i always place like 36-38 place at these things), then went 1-1 in the draft for a pack. hooked my dad (who is a SAVAGE noob just learning the game) with the guy who won the last seattle ptq and they won their 2HG flight for 40packs lol. it was my dad's first tourny, and was pretty much along for the ride, but it was cool for him, and me with the packs hehe :).

????
There were 2 tourney packs opened in a flight I was running that had 18 rares...
We had to switch out the tourney packs and they then had the option of keeping which onw they liked the best.

PLUSt - January 22, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
I stayed at home and studied about such wonderful topics such as the Pragmatic Sanction and the The Treaty of Utrecht.

However, I finally got these cards from MOTL that I've waited like a month for. They were:

1 Morphling
3 Control Magic (1 Asian BB)
4 Ophidian
4 Dance of the Dead

Meh.

imopen2 - January 23, 2006 12:56 AM (GMT)
i pulled birds and the w/b dual and made a savage W/B/G deck but then missed prizes after losing round 4 against fallenomnipotent.
so we brought 5 people:
1 got 1st, another 2nd, another 6th, another 14th, and the last got 16th...not bad imo.

HungryForPonza - January 23, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
I went 6-2 overall (3-1 individual, 3-1 team) and won 12 packs. In all the packs I opened, I didn't get a single dual land. I did however, manage to open 4 Rumbling Slums (hot) and 4 Sword of the Paruns (not).

There wasn't any registration at my prerelease. Savage cheaters >_>

SnK-Arcbound - January 23, 2006 03:29 AM (GMT)
My first match was a guy who was at his first tourny, hung over, and running a 60 card deck, CA-CHING!!!!!!
