Alright, so I was just looking at forums somewhere and someone said something about FBB Mana Crypts? Are there really FBB Crypts out there? I've never heard of that...
It was Portugeese.
Are they worth more or less?

They're foreign so they're obv worth more. There's a white-bordered Port Crypt that is simply amazing. I'm not sure whether it or the BB one is worth more though.

I still don't get why cards from other countries are "worth more." Its bullshit. The portugeese card looks horrible.

Because international merchandise is almost always, if not always, more expensive than domestic merchandise. It's basic economy...

BTW, the white bordered mana crypts are simply amazing, worth it being in a language I can't understand.

But cards are a world market, not domestic vs import. The english cards are worth more because they have the original art and coloring (see italian legends vs english legends, and english revised vs every other revised out there). I can see how russian 9th are worth more than english 9th, because of their black borders, but whats the point otherwise?

Because since I/we are not in the foreign country it's harder to find cards in that language, making another symbol, such as foil, black border or textless.

Mana Crypt isn't easy to find anyway. Its a freaking promo card.
I can understand foil, it shiny and looks good (in most cases, some cards just don't need it, like goblin welder). Dropping a black border for a white border, are you insane? FBB BOP's go for 15 - 20% more than revised. The ravnica ones are starting to creep up on unlimited! UNLIMITED! Foil birds are getting close to beta birds. I can still understand this.
But WTF on port crypts?!?! They fucking suck. Same with italian mana drain (which I already know Doug disagrees with me about). The english ones are worth more because they are originals, not crappy italian ones. The same should go for all the other cards out there.
Now, there are exceptions. Pip pointed out to me how awesome Mindslaver sounds in german, and I will agree that screaming out the german name for slaver would be cool whether you are in the states, Japan, or The Fatherland. But come ON man, I wouldn't want the damn thing if it didn't have black borders.

I havn't seen the Mana Crypts in question, I was talking about foreign cards. Certainly I'd rather have English Drains, but in my posistion I wouldn't refuse either :/
Without having seen the Crypt, getting the (I'm assuming) much rarer copy is just a way to show off or "compinsate."
Personally, I don't make an effort to find them, but if I could get BB playsets of foreign cards (that won't cause arguments: foreign Shock or NB Land = good, foreign obscure card with lots of rules baggage = less good IMO) I would prefer them to BB English cards, just to feel special.

Alright, so I picked up the Crypt. I was just making sure that I wasn't getting ripped. After all, I didn't want it to be something like Italian Drains, where they aren't worth nearly as much.

White bordered Crypts???? I thought the only crypts available were from those books in the early 90's?????
Anyway, I like Juzam... Had to sell my 2 to get Mox Jet though, just couldn't pass up the $$$ the old-school collecters offer.
