Over all I say the blocks looking good. But then again I have seen what might be comming in the set a little so far (Like the split mana I just love it).

Im also posting the other cards we have known about for a while. Just so they are in the same place.

Nice casual card. I approve.

Pip - September 3, 2005 05:47 AM (GMT)
well at least it doesn't say "other attacking"

Law - September 3, 2005 05:48 AM (GMT)
Just in case you have not noticed there is one more.

Skankhair - September 3, 2005 06:53 AM (GMT)
I love the split mana costs!

SnK-Arcbound - September 3, 2005 07:40 AM (GMT)
Red/white seems to be aggro again like in kamigawa, have you looked at some of the W/R cards? They are pretty crazy and cheap.

Xoran - September 3, 2005 07:43 AM (GMT)
Ok. The start certainly looks reasonable enough to keep the game alive and kicking. :)

PLUSt - September 3, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
Ravnica actually might get me to play limited.

I agree.

Also, I love how multicolored cards have the guild logo in the text box. Its sexy!

The artwork is truly amazing too!

Barook - September 3, 2005 01:21 PM (GMT)
i <3 ravnica.

incredible artworks, shitloads of flavour (not that crappy Kamigawa setting), sexy design (e.g. guild symbols on the cards) and interesting cards.

and Bob aka Dark Confidant is sooooooooooo sexy - well, except for the art. ;)

Junkcicle - September 3, 2005 02:40 PM (GMT)
The first guy is at least a 5/5 for 5 when attacking. I agree it's good he doesn't read "other". Decent finisher for RW aggro I guess...

All in all the design of the set looks great. It's awkward at first but when you get used to it, it really illustrates the flavor and feel of the cards well.

lordmayhem - September 3, 2005 02:57 PM (GMT)
I like how cards with split mana costs have the two colors fade into each other whilst regular multicolored cards are gold.

Skankhair - September 3, 2005 03:15 PM (GMT)
I like how the cards are well-costed for what they are. A 5/5 when attacking that is a 3/3 with an ability for 5 mana. A 2/2 for 2 with 2 abilities, 1 of which is decent. A 2/1 for 2 with a CA ability. And a 2-color land that is playable.

This sure isn't CoK. If it were, the 3 spells would cost 2 more mana (at least), and the land would come into play tapped.

EnialisLiadon - September 3, 2005 04:48 PM (GMT)
I want to get some of the Dimir guild cards. Dimir Cutpurse, Dimir Guildmage...UB casual fish :drool

Law - September 3, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
They found one more sorry its not in a form that I can just post it up. So its a link click. But its still a nice card even for a wall.

lordmayhem - September 3, 2005 05:19 PM (GMT)
Wall of Blossoms is back? Oh jesus. I am so tempted to go to the prerelease......

EnialisLiadon - September 3, 2005 05:20 PM (GMT)
Nice wall. It's a good medium between jungle barrier and Wall of Blossoms. I like how this wall can actually kill stuff.

Junkcicle - September 3, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
I like the pseudo wall of blossoms too. Very Nice. And it's a spirit too for even more potential card advantage....

...

tidal kraken - September 3, 2005 10:34 PM (GMT)
I think they're sorta cool. I'll probably try to attent a prerelease (which would be my first prerelease).

Dza76Wutang - September 3, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
Umm, alot of the BG stuff actually looks good. Removing the Vial is going to give the ROCK some serious love...I might cough up the $$ to build it. Fuck you DCI for nerfing my goblins post rot!

Law - September 7, 2005 04:38 AM (GMT)
Well this card has been known. But at least it has a pick that fits and looks good. To bad the ability costs just a little to much.

Damn these cards look good. I like alpha through revised and haven't been very happy with the layout of cards, especially the new ones, since re-revised (4th for the uninitiated). This set is the best looking one since then.

supa_tim - September 7, 2005 01:21 PM (GMT)
I'm assuming that the split manacost cards are considered both colors as well. Right?

Yes, it's covered in the Ask Wizards.

Dza76Wutang - September 7, 2005 09:40 PM (GMT)
I know it won't be cut-throat tournament calibur, but alot of this UB attack the library stuff is going to be fun as shit for casual!

Yeah, its amusing how it costs the same as fireshrieker and yet even more considering the colored activation cost.

Oh well.

Dza76Wutang - September 7, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)
It does however, activate at instant speed (I think) so it can make for a nice trick.

ChocoCid - September 8, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
Yeah, because leaving it on the board for a whole turn makes it very unexpected.

DPoC - September 8, 2005 01:49 AM (GMT)
I have the urge to make reanimator, even though it probably wont be too great.

We get a new zombiy.

We get a new akroma.

:)

PLUSt - September 8, 2005 02:20 AM (GMT)
The new Akroma sucks.

Dza76Wutang - September 8, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
I didn't mean that it would be a surprise, but it can make blocking assignments a bitch to manage.

New Akroma??

Law - September 8, 2005 04:15 AM (GMT)
Heres todays card.

Not bad the fact that it keeps comming back and fills the yard at a good amount (give deck stacking tricks a good time). I would say one of the best cards they have shown so far.

So does that mean with the Dredge ability and his sac ability you can draw 2 cards if you so choose too??

Law - September 8, 2005 04:32 AM (GMT)
You can draw a card then during your next draw dump a card into the yard to get him back instead of drawing a card. But its dedje ability can be triggered buy draw spells.

Is also interested in the new one.

[Sorry, no picture yet!]

Razia, Boros Archangel 4WWRR
Legendary Creature - Angel ®

Flying,Vigilance,Haste

T: The next 3 damage that would be dealt to target creature you control this turn is dealt to target creature instead.

6/3

...not really a new Akroma.

lordmayhem - September 8, 2005 08:54 AM (GMT)
So they took away the pro-red, pro-black and trample for a shitty ability? Yeah. No way near a new Akroma.

Also, I like the Scarab!

Scarab seems ok, but the "new" Akroma shouldn't even be compared with Akroma herself... :wha:
