[There aren't really as many rules as there seems, it's just I had to go into excruciating detail when people decided it was their job to backseat mod and decide to what extent the rules went, trying to take almost everything into their own hands. The Ten Commandments of Role Playing
1. Thou shalt not play God, nor commit Other Person's Character Control
2. Thou shalt not solve all the problems of the universe all by thineself.
3. Thou shalt add details to thine writing to keep it from being boring, and keep holy the Story as presented before thee. Read the posts of thy associates.
4. Thou shalt be true to the character of your character.
5. Thou shalt make sense.
6. Thou shalt not kill other characters or decide what damage they get.
7. Thou shalt be patient for other characters to post.
8. THOU SHALT NOT WRITE IN ALL CAPS AS IT IS HIGHLY ANNOYING.

10. Thou shalt not decide thy neighbor’s actions, or his wife's actions, or his ox's actions....


Rules

Administrators: Do not, under ANY circumstances, heatedly argue with an admin. If you have a disagreement, you may raise the matter privately with one of us, but if we give our final word, then the case is closed. I won't give a "set" punishment, since the severity will probably very from argument to argument (assuming anyone DOES argue). I'm not saying I don't want you to go along like good little sheep with everything, but I don't want to to make a huge squabble out of things. Chances are, we can work things out without the members getting in trouble, or the admins getting pissed, if we comprimise. Besides, I make it a habit to ask members for their opinions before I EVER make any major changes to the site. The way I see it, it's as much the members site as it is mine.

NO 'back seat' admining of other members. If another member had broken a rule, I DO NOT want any of the members to get on to him/her about it. They can raise the subject me me (Ava) PRIVATELY, through a PM. The administrators are PERFECTLY capable of handling the situation WITHOUT the regular members trying to fix the problems themselves. While I understand that you may only be trying to help, if often hurts in the long run, and therefore, I do not want ANY regular members acting as a back seat admin at ANY point. If a member IS acting as a back seat admin to you, I want you to PM me about it ASAP, so I can take care of it.

Cbox: No flaming, please. If you are found being hateful, and have been warned, then you will be banned for 3 weeks. After which, if it continues, you will be banned indefinately. Do not harrass other members, period. If they tell you to stop doing something, stop immediately. You never have the right to harrass another member. While we're on that note, sexual harrassment of any kind will not be tolerated, either. NEVER do it. You do not now, nor will you ever ever EVER have the right to treat another member like that, REGARDLESS of whether or not they are comfortable with it. If you are caught doing this to another member, ever, you will be warned once and then banned indefinately from the cbox. Similiar harrassment, bugging, purposeful annoying, and stalking of other members is also prohibited, not just in the cbox.

Expressing Diety Interest: The Admin Discussion is a hidden forum, where we (the admins) discuss future plans for the site, INCLUDING diety appointments. You may voice the fact, once that you would be interested in being a diety. After that, however, please do NOT mention again. The admins have heard your request. If you repeatedly harass an administrator by telling them over and over (after they have heard your request once and know) that you want to be a diety, you WILL be suspended. I (Avarí) am tired of having people tell me over and over, that they want to be a diety, after they have been telling me for a week already. We KNOW, and trust me, we don't just randomly decide to overlook people. If you are intersted, you may also apply to become a deity, be following THIS link. ^^

Copyright: Images/Content – all images and content are copyrighted under law and should not be removed without permission. If you would like permission to use something on the forum/website, contact the administrator. In addition, all members created writings and drawings are copyrighted to THEM and should not be removed without their permission.

Cursing: Swearing is tolerated, but try not to do it too much... too much swearing is distasteful and takes away from the overall feel of a good rp.

Harassment: Harassment of other members is NOT permitted and will result in a punishment that an Admin deems worthy. Usually, this results in a warning and, depending on the severeness, can result in suspension or other punishments.

Complaint: If you have a complaint about the site or one of its member, PM an admin. If you post openly about your complaint, you shall not be listened to, and depending on your tone, you could receive consequences.

OOC/IC: Remember to use IC (in character) and OOC (out of character) when posting in rps. There are various ways of showing ooc; ex- ((text here)) or simple type "ooc: text" "ic"...... or something like that.

IC: If you have any major plotting that will effect all of Taiar in some way (i.e. you are starting a war or destroying one of my towns, main/important buildings, etc.) then DON'T do it without asking me (Ava) AND getting my permission. If you want to kill a few people or something, burn down several common buildings, that's fine, but PLEASE, do NOT destroy my big cities and towns! I have future plots for Taiar, and if you go and screw them up because you refused to ask me before you wreaked forumwide terror on an entire continent of a made-up land, I am going to get very pissed off. Mmkay? Anyways, even if I didn't require you to ask, it's not nice to go and destroy towns that I worked hard on, all in the course of a single topic.

Gender: It is recommended that your character be the same gender as you are but it is not required.

Username: Your username should not contain any numbers, and should correspond with your character.
--All accounts with random numbers/letter.etc will be deleted WITHOUT warning, ASAP.
Effective: ALL members must join under their character NAME. We have had too many people use words that 'relate' to their chatacer, rather than just using said characters name.
--All users who have NOT read the rules upon joining, and therefore joined using an incorrect username will be notified via Personal Message, after which, if no reply is given within 48 hours, said account will be deleted.
--On a side note, ALL accounts that have joined previously will be spared, however, I ask that you PM me if you are willing to let me change your account name to that of your character. But since you made your account before I changed the rule, I won't make you, if you absolutely don't want to. I would prefer it however.... All accounts made AFTER Aug. 24, 2005 this date will be deleted WITHOUT warning.

RP Length: When rp'ing, all posts must be a minimum of 300 words. If you cannot do this, then don't join, as you won't survive.

RP Quality: This is a moderate-literate to literate RP site. Therefore, the quality of your work must be considered literate by the over-all member base. If we receive to many complaints, you may be deleted.
-----Also note that this is a medieval/fantasy role playing board. No riding along on a skateboard listening to Eminem on a boombox, no guns, or anything like that, okay? If I wanted this to be modern, I would have made it modern. Be true to the times.
-----God-moding: When you role-play avoid god-moding because it is a demonstration of poor role-playing skills. You will not be punished if you accidentally do god-mode MInORLY once in awhile, but if you do it too often (to the annoyance of your fellow role-players), or do something that is quite blatantly a serious god-moding offense, you will be warned at first, and if it continues, and administrator will see to it that you are punished accordingly.
-----God-moding: in role-playing, it is the act of taking another persons’ character and moving them about as your own, also, the creation of a character that is all powerful, or nearly all powerful, with godlike abilities making it immortal, etc.
-----Power-playing: Power playing is very similar to god-moding, in which a person makes their character extremely powerful, and/or in which a person role plays with themselves.
----Actual God/desses are, of course, the exception to this rule, provided they do no misuse or abuse their power.


RP Quantities: You can be in as many threads as you like, so long as you are able to keep up with ALL of them!

Absences: Though not required, it is a courtesy to post when you are going to be gone for awhile. This way nobody wonders where you went. If you disappear for a month and a half or more, and have not posted in the absense board, then you will be deleted.

Adult Content: For adult situations (drugs, extreme gore, sex, etc.), post a warning as OOC in that post. If the thread is based on adult situations, post a warning in the description. You absolutely MUST post a warning. If you don't, the WHOLE thread will be deleted, and the poster (or possibly posters) will be warned. If it continues, you will be deleted and/or banned.
---Another note, I would STRONGLY suggest to all members that they carefully review the material that goes into their sigs and topics. Nudity will not be allowed, and if anyone has a problem, and thinks a picture is inappropriate, contact Ava asap, and she will take the required actions to resolve the conflict. PLEASE avoid posting offensive material. If you did not mean for it to be offensive or pornographic, I might just let you off with a warning, but if things get out of control, I will take whatever action I must to ensure that the majority of the members are no longer offended. I cannot take 'sides' but I CAN do what is in the best interest of the overall members, and I will not condone something, simply because I don't want anyone to get hurt feelings. Trust me, there will be a LOT more hurt feelings if I let it happen, than if one person is upset.

Advertising: Advertising is NOT tolerated, except in your signature. Please PM Avarí to become an affiliate

Multiple accounts/characters: You may have as many characters as you want, as long as you keep them ALL active. ONE character per account, and ONLY one character. If you decide to have 20 thousand accounts, and you only keep this one character alive, DON'T e surprised if the rest all go *POOF!* Yeah, maybe YOU are active, but those other accounts weren't
---Also, NO double posting IC AT ALL, and preferably not in OOC either. It is USELESS to double post IC, even if it is on two seperate accounts, because what is the point in RPing with yourself? You will get one warning OOC if you are caught doing this, after that, you'll be in real trouble.

Deletion: If you no longer wish to be a member of the site, please let an admin member know so that we can delete your account and get rid of any inactive accounts. All new members have three weeks to post a bio or their account will be deleted.
