Firestorm was HOT in several decks..... like Scholarship!!! Firestorm saved my ass several times.

It is bad in Aaron's point of view because it doesn't:

Allow you to draw 3 cards for U,
Play all your cards from the graveyard, or
Take an extra turn after this one.

It caused a turn 1 (kinda) kill in Standard at Perilous like a decade ago; it was pretty hot. I bet Adam remembers it too.

Player 1: Mountain, Jackal Pup, go.
Player 2: Mountain, go.
Player 1: Attack for 2, Mountain, two more Jackal Pup, go.
Player 2: At the end of your turn, Firestorm for 5, targeting you, myself, and the three Jackal Pups. Take 20.
