OOC:Whoa. I call next.

PaladinGC - January 29, 2007 04:24 AM (GMT)
I'll take... 2 on for the first round, then either switch off or add someone if I'm feeling a bit more confident.

I assume I just make most of this up as I go, except for Virii of course.

(EDIT: I need to do a little homework on Virii.... one sec...)

Kazuhiro - January 29, 2007 04:27 AM (GMT)
OOC: I'd like to be modded by Paladin here too, if there's room.

PaladinGC - January 29, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
((There is. I'll add you and Eon in the next round.))

EDIT: ((Alright, I've got it covered. AimMan and Zanallen... post away!))

(( Ready. AimMan and Zanallen... post away! Eon and Kazu are up next round. ))

AimMan - January 29, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
MeleeMan appeared on the net, not knowing what to expect. He stared blankly forward, waiting for Rania's voice to greet him. Strangely, she said nothing.

"Rania? Rania, you there?" he barked, frowning more deeply. The entire net space seemed clear and devoid of activity, almost ghost like. It was definitely unfamiliar territory.

Zanallen - January 29, 2007 04:50 AM (GMT)
"The hell?" Chaos asked as he entered the unfamiliar Net.

"I don't know." Rayth answered.

"Of course you don't, fool."

"Don't make me disconnect the Pet and leave you there."

"I'd be better off."

"I doubt it, you've got company."

Chaos looked around to see a very familiar fire Navi. MeleeMan stood in the distance attempting to get a hold of his NetOp. Chaos laughed heartily at MeleeMan's misfortune. Perhaps he would be able to delete the fool before he could even get his hands on a BattleChip.

SpaceMonkeySteve - January 29, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
((I'm eager to see your leet skillz in action. If you'll need me, which I doubt, just holla.))

Savage King - January 29, 2007 06:20 AM (GMT)
((Congrats, Pally! ^__^
In the continuing tradition of a training whore, I shall join for my own personal gain. That is, of course, if I am needed.
... Probably not, though. I can see we have quite a lineup already.))

PaladinGC - January 29, 2007 07:31 AM (GMT)
((Sorry for the long delay. To make up for it, I've endeavored to make this... interesting for you.))

For a few moments, the only thing that could be heard in the eerie gloom and mist was Chaos' cruel laughter. That is, until Meleeman could just barely pick out a faint, shallow rumbling noise in the distance... A noise Chaos could not hear over his own laughter... A noise that was becoming louder. MeleeMan's ears told him he should have been looking right at whatever it was... Yet, strangely there was nothing to see but the sea of densely flowing mist that blanketed the ground in all directions for as far as the eye could see.

As the sound continued to get louder, the rumbling became deeper, and a higher pitched shriek was soon added. The noise itself was now reminiscent of an ancient jet-turbine as heard from a distance, and now the mist was visibly being kicked up in a kind of smoky wake behind the invisible force causing the noise... And that invisible thing was approaching absurdly fast.

Too fast.

It roared it's way past, between the two Navis, kicking up a wall of mist in it's wake. Suddenly, there was a series of bright flashes, and a large cloud of fog was generated as whatever it was came to a stop a few yards distant.... Then, with jarring suddenness, the jet-like roar abruptly and completely died, to be replaced by an unnatural silence, as if the mist had simply swallowed it... The wall of mist began to glow warmly from within...

Out of the fog, they came with malevolent growls and the glow of their fiery breath... Four Spikeys walked into view amongst the now settling mist. Yet, a faint but steady whisper of sound alerted the two Navis that the Spikeys were not alone....

---Battle Start---

AimMan - January 29, 2007 12:43 PM (GMT)
"Haha, so this is what you're like when nobody's around to witness? Vile-" MeleeMan growled through gritted teeth.

"I don't care what he is," Rania's voice suddenly piped up. "You're going to need his help to delete those viruses. Those are only the first four; it sounds like more are on the way."

"Hmph. You don't think I could handle a small group of viruses like this?" MeleeMan scoffed. "Well, I assure you, I'm more than capable. Send me some chip data, quickly."

"Alright. We'll start you off with the cannon. Honestly, I don't want you to use up too many chips on these guys. There's no telling who the next opponents will be; they might be tougher than these Spikies," Rania pointed out, slotting in a cannon battle chip.

"Well, if all I'm getting is a cannon, I guess I'll have to rely on my good right fist for back up on this one," MeleeMan grunted, discharging smoke from both gauntlets. Under the plate, his eyes glew with yellow flames. "Hrah! Soul Fist Uppercut!" he shouted, running in and attempting to take on Spikey under the jaw with a flaming underhook. As he did so, he summoned a cannon onto his alternate arm to attack another one of the dogs. "I just hope that other guy's got my back. Doesn't seem likely, does it?" he scoffed. Backing up a bit, he attempted to maintain a stance by which he could dodge the heated shots the viruses would undoubtedly release in retaliation.

1) Soul Fist Uppercut to Spikey A [40, lower accuracy]
2) Cannon to Spikey B [40]
3) Dodge

Zanallen - January 29, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
"Vile?" Chaos practically shrieked. "I'll show you vile..."

With those words, Chaos' eyes were filled with a sinister crimson glow. Chaotic whips of energy crackled along his left arm, feeding a small, pure black sphere that grew with every burst of crimson light. He raised his arm, the sphere floating inches from his hand, pointing at MeleeMan. He was about to release the sphere of built up gravity when a Spikey lunged at him.

"Damn mutt." Chaos growled.

He thrust the sphere into the Spikey's chest, blasting back the flaming hound as he dodged away from the remnants of the pack. There were still several of the rabid virii, several nuisances that would no doubt interfere with his battle. He would have to take care of the virii if he wanted a shot at MeleeMan.

"Rayth," Chaos demanded. "Send me some BattleChips."

"What? Man, I could probably just jack you out of there. It would save us some time."

"Stop being a fool and send those chips."

"Fine, whatever."

Chaos felt the familiar surge of energy as the BattleChip data was uploaded to his temporary files. Black flames engulfed his right arm, melting the bone armor to form a skeletal buster that crackled with lines of crimson energy. One BattleChip slid into place, the ShotGun loading into the buster. Chaos peered into the smoke and mist, trying to make out some of the virii. A wounded Spikey limping next to another of the hellish virii caught his eye. Chaos took aim and fired, the spray of pellets ripping through the air and hopefully the flesh of both of the virii.

Regardless the outcome of his ShotGun, a Cannon Chip was loaded into his buster. There was a brief flash of light as the Cannon charged and Chaos fired the shot at the second of the virii, hoping that both of his attacks would take it out as well. Chaos began a strafing motion as he fired the blast of energy, eyes piercing the darkness in the hopes of dodging any incoming attacks.

Summary:
1. Gravitic Crush(40 plus stun) to SpikeyD
2. Shotgun(50) to SpikeyB with Spread(50) directed to SpikeyC
3. Cannon(40) to SpikeyC
4. Dodge

(I'll help if you ever run out of volunteers...)

PaladinGC - January 29, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
Meleeman was first to act, hitting the Spikey with an explosive uppercut to the jaw that caused its shot at Chaos to miss and left it dazed. As the fireball passed over Chaos' head, a second Spikey lept to the attack, but was repulsed by Chaos' quick counter, managing only to exchange ranged blows with the Navi. A third Spikey was caught between the two Navis and deleted before it could so much as move... a perfect example of why getting caught in a crossfire was a very bad thing. It's pack-mate was gunned down seconds later by Chaos just after it took a shot at Meleeman, who'd anticipated the attack and side-stepped out of the path of the fireball...

... Just in time to get tagged, center of mass, by a hail of rapid buster fire. His tormentor quietly and swiftly hovered into view... A sleek and deadly, yet fuctional shape that rode upon the directed thrust of its downward-canted jets, sporting a wicked-looking cannon that also served as its main chasis and a pair of multi-barreled buster-weapons underneath. This small flying monstrosity, blood-red in color with black stripes and white stabilizers, painted it's victims with a ludicrous number of targeting lasers as it began to move more quickly...

This virus meant business.

"Argh," Chaos spat as a sphere of flames exploded into his shoulder. "Damn virii."

"No time to complain," Rayth said. "There is some type of flyer coming in from behind."

Chaos turned to see the ridiculous looking creature, like some sort of mechanized monster, rain a storm of bullets down on MeleeMan. Chaos couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he watched his "partner" being tagged again and again with rapid fire shots. His mouth turned to a wide grin, his pointed teeth gleaming, as he observed this new arrival.

"Hey fool!" Chaos called to MeleeMan. "You finish off these weaklings while I deal with our new friend. Try not to get yourself killed...As I want that pleasure for myself."

A mass of crimson energy rolled along Chaos' skeletal armor, congregating around his feet and legs. His tattered cloak began to flap wildly and the dark Navi rose from the ground. He locked his eyes of the new virus as Rayth slotted in the final BattleChip, RageClaw. Chaos' left arm began to pulse with a crimson aura and his bone claws extended to long talons.

Chaos smiled softly as his command over gravity reached its highest level. He took off like a bullet, a crimson streak that flew parallel with the new virus before turning ninety degrees to hit the virus from below. Chaos slashed once with his RageClaw before dashing away. He flew up, over and around to confuse the virus' sensors, before zeroing in to attack once more. His claws glinted with a crimson light as he plummeted down onto the virus, attempting to ground, all the while slashing away.

1. Wind assisted flying dodge

"Hah! You kill me! You couldn't floor me, much less kill me! I'd like to see you even hurt this," he paused, flexing his muscles, "impervious, rock hard body."

"You can show off to your little friend later," Rania laughed, although she was beginning to feel ill about the navi herself. "For now, let's try to take down those other virii. It looks like he's going to try to take care of the flying virus, at least."

"Hmph. I'm not concerning myself with him any longer," MeleeMan scoffed, attempting to slam his Rageclaw into the Spikey he had punched with one poweful thrust, then casually swing it towards the other Spikey. "I could take down a guy like that, no sweat. He has the drive of a warrior, but not the burning heart!"

"Whatever you say," Rania conceded with a sigh. "He looks pretty dangerous to me, honestly."

"Well, what do you know about the fire of the soul? MeleeMan spat, readying a shotgun. He attempted to blast the Spikey again, in case it had somehow lived through the previous assault. Not certain as to whether or not their new challenger would be defeated, he prepared to duck and weave to avoid further attacks fromt he airbound opponent.

1) RageClaw Spikey A [40] into Spikey D [20]
2) Shotgun to Spikey D [50] and splash [25]
3) Dodge
4) Dodge

PaladinGC - January 29, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
While Meleeman finished off the remaining Spikeys, Chaos set his sights on the new virus, closing in on it, hoping for a quick kill... only to discover that this virus had no intention of being deleted. The virus fired its drives up, and was soon matching Chaos move for move, seemingly able to rocket in any direction it so chose, while trying to hold the range open. It miscalculated one maneuver, allowing Chaos to rake its underside with his Rage Claw. As he passed beneath it, he saw the name "Gunn-Beta" inscribed on it's hull. His strike seemed to shake the virus up a bit as its maneuvers became more erratic. With this, Chaos performed a feint, flew above the virus, and swooped down for the kill... It was a ploy. The virus swapped end-for-end, canted it's nose upwards and blew him out of the sky with its fragmentation-cannon, displaying an unnerving degree of intelligence, but the shot was taken at close-range causing damage to the virus as well. Meleeman dodged out of the way as secondary munitions rained down... followed closely by his 'comrade', who came crashing down next to him.

The badly damaged virus hovered shakily... watching and waiting for its opponents' next move.

Chaos pushed himself shakily to his feet. His legs felt like pudding and an intense pain ripped through his chest with every movement. He examined himself, his cloak charred and torn in several more places, a large wound in his side staining his bone armor a deep scarlet, and cursed. He ripped off his cloak and threw it to the ground, revealing the entirety of his ghastly frame. His eyes, deep pools of ebony, were mere slits with the crimson pupils glowing with seething anger. Chaotic waves of crimson energy, like blood red currents of electricity, crackled across his body, the skeletal armor over his black body suit stained red in reflection of the light.

"I shall teach you to fear the unknown, the darkness that resides just out of sight. You shall learn the meaning of true horror and chaos." The dark Navi shouted as he rose higher into the air.

Chaos' speech faded to a maniacal laugher as he raised his hand, pointing straight at the Gunn-Beta. The crimson wave of energy danced across his finger tips, forming a small sphere of blood red energy. As Chaos' laughter reached a crescendo, the sphere exploded, a beam of crimson light piercing the Gunn-Beta.

"Agh! Hah!" MeleeMan laughed rudely. "What's the matter? Some little flying bug too tough for you to squash? Don't worry, I'll lend a hand!"

"Don't patronize him. Really, you two have to work together!" Rania exclaimed. "I'm not sure if his intentions are... There's no way to be certain. But you're acting like a little child!"

"Rrrah! Don't you insult me!" MeleeMan roared, expelling smoke rapidly from his wrists. "I'll show you what I'm capable of! I don't even need his help!" MeleeMan roared, launching toward the virus with one of his fists glowing with heat. He attempted to slam the virus and assure that the enemies were effectively out of the way.

"MeleeMan! Aren't you worried you'll take Chaos' shot if you're up there?" Rania warned him.

"Wh-what? I hadn't even considered that!" MeleeMan admitted as he seemed to hang in the air at the end of a long trail of smoke. He did a roll as he came down to try to avoid attacks, including the one that Chaos had launched. "I'll teach the punk to fire at me!"

"You lunkhead, you jumped in the way of his shot!" Rania pointed out, feeling almost as enraged as her navi.

1) Charge
2) Charge
3) Charge shot to Gunn-Beta [16]

PaladinGC - January 30, 2007 12:43 AM (GMT)
The Gunn-Beta was severely damaged, and it's programming activated one last protocol before Meleeman and Chaos tag-teamed it: it fired a small signal flare from a port somwhere near the back of the chasis. Seconds later, Meleeman charged the virus, and lashed out with his fist, clipping it as it tried to evade. This caused it to spin out of control in its place as one of the engines simply fell off, and allowed Chaos to nail it with his crimson beam, deleting it.

Chaos landed lightly, the lines of crimson energy fading away. He smirked as he observed the mechanical creature fading to nothing. The virus had paid for its impudence, just like MeleeMan would soon pay. Chaos spit, a bloody wad landing on the floor, as he turned toward the flaming Navi.

"So, shall we end this? Do you wish to for me to end your pitiful existence so soon? Or do you wish to suffer until you can take it no longer, begging me for death?"

"Chaos," Rayth warned. "He's got a bit more enrgy left than you do. Are you sure that you want to push him?"

"This "MeleeMan" is a fool. I shall have no trouble finishing him off."

"Yeah, but there may be more of those virii. I wouldn't mind seeing you deleted, but not before we finish out current mission."

((Basically, you can give us another battle, switch us out, or add some more Navi to the mix. I'm enjoying your modding style, so I'm up for anything.))

AimMan - January 30, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
"Hah! Bring it!" MeleeMan laughed, crossing his arms and clenching his teeth angrily.

"MeleeMan, I wouldn't pick a fight so soon. It can sense another opponent coming to you," Rania warned him. "Call it a hunch, but I'd say the fight's not over yet."

"Damn right the fight's not over! It's not over till I punch that guy enough to make his eyeballs shoot out of their sockets!" MeleeMan replied, releasing more smoke into the thick mist around his arms.

"Well, for now, just shut him out or something, okay? Focus on the battle that's sure to come," Rania instructed him, fed up with his battle hungry attitude.

"Alright... but if you ask me, the only 'battle sure to come' is when I finally get to shove that guy's face through the floor of the cyber-bridges!" MeleeMan growled, cracking his neck as he waited.

PaladinGC - January 30, 2007 02:14 AM (GMT)

The blurred outline of a white-bodied Navi entered from the far end of the arena. Its features gradually smoothed out as it neared the others, and then as soon as Chaos caught sight of it, he saw the same tall, slender woman as he had at the NetSquare opening party: Titania. She nodded to him with a smile, then to MeleeMan, as she again slung her bow into her hands.

Raina's hunch proved true all too soon as the familiar sound of those strange flying virii was soon heard... But there was no tell-tale wake this time... Instead, they came screaming down out of the 'sky,' pulling out of their dive a safe distance from the mist-covered groud, and then flew over the trio of Navis. As they passed, they dropped 3 capsules apiece... Upon impact the capsules each produced a bright flash that resolved into the forms of more viruses... 4 MarkCannons stood ready while 2 Boomers rose from the mists. A bright flash in the distance heralded the arrival of a single Kabutank.

The two blue-colored Gunns swapped end-for-end, fired their jets, and came to a halt, facing the Navis, a fair distance back, side-by-side... other than their new blue coloration, they seemed identical to the recently destroyed Gunn-Beta. Unfortunately, they were not alone... a third Gunn rose silently from the misty ground, both between and behind the other two. This one was green, and sported black boxes upon it's back. None of them made any aggressive moves. They simply hovered and watched....

"Hah! Well, at least they're all here spread out for us. It's like a platter... and man, am I hungry!" MeleeMan smirked. "We'll make short work of the chumps. So chick, I assume you're planning to help us out here?" For some reason, he honestly didn't seem to recognize Titania as the navi from Sharo. It was possible he had only paid attention to Oberon while he was active.

"Since you're probably hoping to use your fists, it might benefit you to attack the enemies closer by. How about those Boomers? You're a fire elemental navi, so your fists should do them good damage!" Rania pointed out. "Use your Soul Fist Uppercut!"

"Don't tell me how to use my fists!" MeleeMan roared, charging towards the enemy viruses. Growling and stooping forward as he ran so that his fist nearly dragged on the ground, he brought it up with a whirl of smoke and flames as he neared the Boomers. "Raaah! Soul Fist Uppercut!" he cried out, attempting to catch the virus under its enourmous clothes-pin jaw and send it rocketing upward. "You're not getting off easy!" he growled at the other, summoning a cannon onto the fist he'd just used and attempting to pump the virus in the face with a point blank shot. He jumped a little ways back, raising his fists and preparing to dodge if the viruses turned their sights on him.

Chaos sighed as he watched the massive amount of virii being dropped by the strange gunships. So many pitiful creatures begging for deletion. The Dark Navi was going to have a long day ahead of him if he ever wanted to spill MeleeMan's blood. And now the opalescent Navi with the dual personalities had shown up. Was this some sort of crazed Sharo reunion? Was were there so many damn interruptions?

"Well Chaos," Rayth snickered. "You're in for it now. Look how many virii are allied against you. What will you do now?"

"Shut your trap and send me some BattleChips. We'll start off with just the Shotgun. I want to see what our "comrades" have up their sleeves."

"Just a Shotgun? Against all those?"

"Fine, I shall incapacitate that beetle thing first."

A crackle of crimson energy flowed along Chaos' arm, coalescing to spiral around his skeletal claws. He thrust his hand to the floor, claws piercing the earth. The crimson energy channeled through the ground to form a jet black hemisphere that encompassed the entire Kabutank. Crimson lines of energy rippled through the opaque black sphere, the force of gravity no doubt crushing the Kabutank trapped inside.

"Now will you send me the damn Shotgun?" Chaos snapped.

"Fine."

The BattleChip data surged through Chaos, the sinister skeletal cannon replacing his arm with the sickening crunch of broken bones. Chaos sprinted toward the group of MarkCannons, studying the movement of their shielding plates. He strafed to the left and to the right, dodging quickly to throw off the advanced targeting systems of the Cannons. Chaos rose the Shotgun, aiming for two of the turrets, and fired. An explosion signaled the spray of iron pellets ripping through the air to smash into the MarkCannons. He couldn't tell whether he had actually damaged the virii, and he didn't really care. He was far more concerned with zigging in and out of the combat zone.

Summary:
1. Gravitic Crush(40 plus Stun) to Kabutank
2. Wind dodge
3. Wind dodge
4. Shotgun(50) to MarkCannonA with spread(50) directed to MarkCannonB

Titania's white eyes found their mark in the airborne Kabutank, and she immediately nocked an arrow that appeared in her waiting hand, loosing it at the very peak of the armored virus' flight. As it flew, a spark of light starting from the flat-bladed head left a trail of light in the air behind the white shaft, then finally exploded on impact. The bow was still vibrating slightly from the first shot when she drew again, with another arrow between her fingertips, and fired.

The string and the feathers made a pleasant zipping sound as this projectile flew, and when it struck its final mark, the long arrow melted into a breath of flame, engulfing its target and then continuing forward, a linear explosion.

There was nothing but combat now. No explanation, no justification, no time to think. Only to fight. The jewel on her head did not even shine in the low light, as if it was isolated from the rest of the battle, a pretty ornament, unfeeling and unseeing. It flickered a little as Oberon saw the danger in the number of enemies, but was soon still again.

Titania smiled. He had faith.

PaladinGC - February 3, 2007 04:44 AM (GMT)
Meleeman started off the allied assault by reducing one of the Boomers to chared data fragments with a blazing pile-driver of a punch that seemed to start from somewhere around his ankles, shot for the sky, and just ended the Boomer's existence... His follow-up Cannon shot spalled off of the blade of the Boomerang held in the other Boomer's mouth. It quickly retaliated for it's cohort's demise, but Meleeman easily evaded the attack, neither having damaged the other.

The Kabutank lined up to take a shot at Meleeman as well, but found itself caught between Chaos and Titania... it never got the chance to attack as it was crushed and shot...

The MarkCannons focused their attention on Chaos, each attempting to get a solid lock on the flying Navi... they failed. Each fired a shot at the fast moving target, but none could manage to tag him. To add insult to injury, they became targets for his and Titania's return fire, which DID hit their marks, causing massive damage to the gun-emplacements...

Off in the distance, the hovering virii made preparations for their attack. Each of the blue virii began projecting an energy field before them, shaped much the same as a Guard would be... Except these were mostly transparent, and seemed to be made of countless tiny hexagonal panels in a sort of honey-combed pattern. Once these fields were up, they began to drift away from one another, as if clearing for action...
