Title: Optimism, Soul, and Peerless Resolve!
Description: The group has it all.
AimMan - February 21, 2007 02:34 PM (GMT)
Following closely behind Seraphim, MeleeMan kept his jaw locked tightly in his usual frown. His arms maintained their position crossed across his chest. MeleeMan was beginning to feel a bit out of place among his allies, as he had just recently realized that he was about the height of the two standing on top of eachother, and his arms, furthermore, were about the twice the width if you measured at the upper arm. He spat onto the ground, looking around grimacingly at the area. "This place looks awfully green and lush. It will be invigorating to burn it all down in the heat of battle!"
"Hey, I don't want you burning up anything but the enemy, okay MeleeMan? You've got to drop the whole 'destruction to the environment and your allies' thing, okay?" Rania warned him.
"No, Rania! We are brothers in blood now!" MeleeMan responded, shaking his fist. "I wouldn't attack my allies! Not even in a heated street brawl! Unless... uh... I couldn't tell they were my allies. Like, if they were a different color, or a slightly different height or something... Then I might attack them!"
"Well that's... reassuring," Rania replied unamused, folding her arms across her own chest.
((Waiting for Seraphim and Rass.))
Skyrender - February 21, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
Following closely behind Seraphim, Rass fell into line, panting heavily as he struggled to keep up. Grimacing slightly at the sight of the two powerful brawlers, he began to feel a little bit out of place among his allies. After all, he thought, somewhat jealously, both of them have shown themselves capable of unleashing powerful special techniques while all I have is my dinky little Tem Scanner...
Hey, interrupted Tem, Don't call my scanner "dinky." Besides, we simply don't have the system resources to manage more than one technique of that calibur.
Rass shrugged then fell into place once again, slightly in back of Seraphim and alongside the imposing MeleeMan. The makeshift party stood strong, gazing outward toward the distant horizon as the Yumland network lay before them, with new adventures and viruses to come.
Rass sighed at the thought. This is going to be a long, long day...
EonOmega - February 21, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
"Ah! Why am I last! I should be leading the party!" Seraphim shouted out indignantly as he entered the area, somehow having gotten lost along the way, managing to just barely make the portal as some random thing happened one after another, a giant rock chasing after him at one point as if it were all part of a cutscene.
"Anyway! On to randomly selected enemies to battle!" The navi cried out, beginning to walk forward in a general direction, tripping, getting back up and spluttering, then going straight back to walking as if nothing had occurred.

"Ha... ha ha ha!" MeleeMan laughed, clutching his forehead as he looked at the viruses with haughty amusement. "A big clump of bamboo shoots wants to fight me?! What a joke! Gwah ha ha ha!" he reeled with laughter. "Oh, yeah, that's rich. Rania, send me the firehit, markcannon, and rageclaw; we're taking these guys out with speed and soul!"
"You got it. I'm glad you had the wit to figure that out, actually. Maybe there's still some hope for you," Rania commented, remaining serious as she slotted in the chips. It actually didn't seem as though she was being sarcastic.
"First of all, I'll instill awe into each of the lowly devils by overkilling this chump here," he smirked, ducking in towards one of the Kilbies. He growled lowly in a rumbling tone, sweeping his fist up to try to pound into the vegitation. With a loud roar, he shouted, "Soul Fist Uppercut! Yaaaah!"
"Was that really an uppercut, MeleeMan?" Rania pointed out. "I mean, what is there to catch under? Usually the opponent needs a chin or something for that to work..."
"Don't question my methods!" MeleeMan grumbled, heading for the next one. He skid to a stop by its side, reeling around for a flaming back fist. "Ha ha ha! Now, for the final assault stage of my assault! Where'd the bugger get off to?" he growled, letting his markcannon's cursor do the searching for him. "There you are! Begone, unworthy foe! Hrah!" he cried, firing a fast shell towards the enemy as soon as he'd achieved a lock on. "Now, for the finishing strike!" he roared, equipping a rageclaw and running for the enemy he'd just attempted to snipe. He reared back his arm and thrust it forth powerfully; if the attack hit, he resolved himself to throw the corpse into the stronger looking Melodies.
"Let's hope your friends will be able to provide you some defense here, MeleeMan," Rania muttered, looking at the other viruses with a bit of worry. "If these guys hit you, it's going to hurt."

"M-m-more of them?" balked Rass, "S-suien! Send me the Rockcube so we can h-hide behind it again!" He backed away slowly, noting MeleeMan's firey demeanor as he bravely charged into the fray. "Hey... h-how come he never wants to hide behind the r-rock with us?"
Argo scowled in response. That's because he's not a namby-pamby little piece of useless... he began.
"That's enough Argo, I think Rass get's the point," interrupted Suien suddenly, "As for you Rass, I think it's a good idea for you to vary your techniques a little. After all, we did manage to get a new chip in the last battle that I've read lots of practical applications for in my viral studies class. I've been meaning to try it out."
Rass frowned in response as Suien slotted in the chip, sending the data flowing through his circuitry and allowing him to read the technical specifications. "Y-you know," said Rass nervously, twiddling his fingers as he spoke, "I think I'd s-still feel safer standing behind a r-rockcube. This is nothing but a b-big fan, right?"
A wind battlechip? Oh thank you Suien!~ shouted an enthusiastic Tem as she streaked across Rass' back and materialized into his hand, Ishamel and I will take things from here, if that's okay with you!
Rass was still not comprehending his tactical system's sudden change in attitude, but attributed it to a feminine giddiness that came from being in love. Sighing as he blocked the mental picture of his two subsystems going at it in a swirl of color, he crouched down and planted his hand on the ground. "Go ahead T-Tem," he said finally, "Execute the b-battle routine."
Gladly! she said cheerfully, sending a burst of gray smoke into the air as the windbox was summoned to the field. Leaping on top of the windbox, long scarf flowing in the wind, Rass felt his hand thrust upward as the virus roared to life. See, Rass? The wind battlechip allows you to reposition things on the field if used correctly! This way, you can have an easier time striking with your most powerful chips! She laughed merrily as Rass looked down at the windbox uneasily, but shrugged. "Y-yeah Tem... that's uh... that's g-great." he said, smiling slightly as the blue subsystem retreated to her gemstone. As the sapphire glowed slightly, Rass heard Tem speak. Ishamel, you're up! she said cheerfully as a crimson bolt shot from the garnet on Rass' back and nestled itself within his otherwise-black hands. AFFIRMATIVE! cried Ishamel, ACTIVATING TARGETING SYSTEM!
Once he was certain that he could communicate with Ishamel privately, Rass nervously addressed his targeting subsystem. "Hey um... Ishamel?" he asked quietly, "D-do you know if Tem and Argo are... you know...?"
ARE WHAT, CORE SYSTEM? demanded Ishamel in a loud voice, CLARIFICATION IS NEEDED TO MAKE A LOGICAL ASSESSMENT!
"...you know, are they together in a... romantic way?"
IS THIS WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT, CORE SYSTEM? shouted Ishamel in a voice so loud it caused Rass to buckle atop the wind virus, LIKENING US TO TEENAGE DRAMA IS INEFFICIENT! Rass' hands sparked with electricity as Ishamel charged it with the mighty elecreel battlechip. With a terrified peep from Rass, the fusion navi let loose a glimmering beam of electrical energy, arcing and slicing as it rushed toward the viruses. The faint smell of ozone tinted the air as Ishamel wasted no time, extending both arms and launching a barrage of powerful shotgun beams toward the remaining viruses. The lances of light streaked forward, glimmering and sending a brilliant glow playing across the fields of Yumland.
Suddenly, as his system resources ran out, the fusion navi felt a powerful surge of pain in his chest. Unable to seek cover, Rass collapsed, exhausted, on top of the Windbox. Looking from side to side to his heroic partner, he spoke. "H-hey Seraphim," he said weakly, "It's up t-to you I guess."

"Right, right right... Erin, do I have any new spells from my last levelup?" The navi asked his operator, the one he referred to as the mysterious deus ex machina plot device sort of person, who was usually found with a cloak and a beard, with shadows covering the upper part of the head, but the navi supposed she had gotten a job as one. The girl snatched that chip up from the thin sheets and stared at it for a couple seconds before slotting in, then a couple more of the 'usual' with a sly grin, beginning to explain this particular chip.
"Boom Erang is the name of this chip, Seraph. It shoots a homing bullet on its target, and can hit up to two targets swiftly and easily, especially since your current 'type' is a targeting, and you'll be able to hit those viruses easily. Especially with your main-character skills, Seraph." She ended on a slightly sarcasting note, but smiling all the same as she set the rest of the unused chips down, the navi nodding slowly as he looked at his operator, then turned toward the enemy, looking at the fanfares.
"If I can get one of their spells... I could get some victory music, or a battle theme!" The navi cried out, raising his weapon and pointing at the tubical monsters that seemed to pop out a not-quite lovely tune, but the obsessed navi seemed persistent on having his own 'tune' for battles and such, raising the weapon and firing, yelling out a call of "Boom Erang!" The bullet that emerged from the recoiling gun was a strange one, as it shot out, then seemed to halt in midair, making a turn as Erin began to explain the various uses of this particular 'spell' in detail, Seraphim's eyes watching the bullet as any good ADD person would be paying attention to it.
"The Boom Erang spell is one that can curve bullets in midair, causing them to head straight for opponents and literally smash them, going straight through and possibly even hitting another target. It might be based on boomerangs in real life, as you can see, they sometimes come back to their owner, but this one fortunately does not, merely disappearing after it has taken its path. I find this chip to be an interesting one because it could be useful for strategical movement of monster- Seraph, what are you doing?" Erin ended as she watched her navi move.
"I'm going to try out a shot gun!" The navi cried out as he yelled the name of the attack, firing at the two melodies that the bullet had been last seen going for as he switched targets after firing out that, going for the final target with a grin, and calling out the attack of two decently powered chips, a pair known as twin vulcans.

MeleeMan dispersed more smoke from his gauntlets, then folded his arms confidently across his chest. "Hm hm hm..." he laughed quietly. "I knew we were good, Rania, but not even I expected to be done with them that fast!"
"Don't get cocky, MeleeMan," Rania warned him. "Things only get more difficult as you tread further into the net area."
"Pfft," MeleeMan spat, frowning with distaste. "Things could only get harder, with enemies like that." Turning to his two friends, he extended one of his thick armored thumbs upward, maintaining his usual frown. "That was some grade A work, guys. Let's keep cleaning house like that and there by prove what men we are!"
"Prove to who...?" Rania muttered under her breath, thinking it a logical question.
EonOmega - February 26, 2007 01:25 AM (GMT)
Seraphim sighed, a work of cleaning up some of the endless creatures that plagued this world gone, although another random batch would be showing up shortly, with his luck as the main character. Saying nothing, he merely nodded and continued on.
Skyrender - February 26, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)
Rass looked timidly between the imposing brawler and the confident hero, sighing as he picked up the guard chip and sidled forward, the metallic shield slowly fading into wisplike strands. Sighing as the two continued onward, he reluctantly followed his two comrades deeper into the network.

"Ha ha... Ha ha ha!" MeleeMan reeled with laughter, his thick jaw rising up and down with his guffaws. The look really didn't suit him at all, and made it altogether uncomfortable to be around him. "Just when I thought... pfft," he paused, knocking himself briefly over his own helmet with one of his heavy hands, "just when I thought enemies couldn't get any lamer, my allies and I are attacked by tissue paper and corn! Gwah ha ha ha!"
"MeleeMan, get a hold of yourselves. And don't laugh," she urged him, arching her eyebrows a bit uncomfortably. "It's kind of creepy."
MeleeMan's pride seemed slightly injured for a moment. "Creepy? Huh..."
"Now, just because those enemies are wood type doesn't mean you need to go for them first," Rania pointed out. "They're also very low on HP, and there are enemies who promise to be much more dangerous. You see those hanging, ghost-like viruses? They're pretty tough customers. Those virii near the back are also toting enormous bombs that can do tons of damage to your entire party if given time to detonate!"
"What? Those cowards!" MeleeMan growled, dispersing smoke from his gauntlets. "They'd bring a weapon like that to a street fight, then have the nerve to hide behind it like that? Of all the... Only some kind of chicken-livered punk would continuously summon a giant cube-shaped object just to hide behind it until he was ready to use it as a weapon!"
"Hold on there, what about your friend Rass?" Rania asked with a critical tone. "He's been using his rock cube as a pretty effective defensive and aggressive mechanism."
MeleeMan bit his tongue; he'd forgotten about his friend's RockCube battle chip. "Well... uh... you see, it's all about how you use it! Rass uses it the proper way! The bombers lack the... uh... lack the-"
"Lack the what, MeleeMan? Just admit that you were being insensitive," Rania scolded him, crossing her arms tightly. "Not everyone is a lunkhead like you, rushing out into battle without any cover for themselves."
"What did you say? Are you trying to imply that you'd do better?" MeleeMan grumbled. As she turned her head to the side, biting her lip, he smirked a bit, seeing that she wasn't willing to lie about the point. "Good. Now that we've got that established, go ahead and send me a boomerang and a rageclaw. I'm going to set to work on the bomb squad!"
"Fine. You're such a brutish fighter though... It pays to use your wits some times! I thought you were starting to learn that," Rania muttered disappointedly, slotting in the chips.
MeleeMan gulped momentarily and frowned. He realized he was wrong in making the insult towards fighters who fought defensively, but his pride was too great to concede the point. "I don't have time for regrets!" he told himself, making a mountain out of a molehill and using the little guilt he felt as a jump-pad for his rage. "Boomerang! Hrah!" he shouted out, launching a blade-like green weapon towards the row of bombers. "Ha! Now, for the smack down!" he roared, closing in and equipping his rage claw. He raged like a madman inside the small gathering, attempting to skewer his round opponents, then slam their bodies into each other.
"MeleeMan! It's not likely your friends will be able to take out all of the other viruses. Be prepared to dodge!" Rania instructed him.
Her navi was surprisingly obediant, raising up his dukes and crouching to prepare to duck and weave around the enemy attacks. His guilt was still bugging him, because he knew he'd lost the point to Rania, but he still couldn't admit it to her or his teammates. Obediance was the least he could do, or so it seemed to him.

Rass' face fell as his puglistic partner painfully pointed out a potential problem with his previous practices. He nervously took a step backward as he looked toward the ground, processing the large navi's harsh words. "Only some kind of chicken-livered punk would continuously summon a giant cube-shaped object just to hide behind it until he was ready to use it as a weapon!" growled MeleeMan, pumping a steam-filled fist into the air as he disparaged those who sought defensive measures in combat. Rass sadly thought about the rockcube and the windbox that had proven to be a cornerstone of his battle strategy thus far as his netOp, oblivious to the fusion navi's internal struggle, went ahead and began cycling through his battlechips.
"Well, as the proverb goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it," said Suien, smirking slightly at Erin as he twirled a battlechip in his fingers and placed it in the chiptray, "Rass, look sharp. I'm sending you the rockcube for defense while you."
"Um... S-Suien?" asked Rass uneasily, "D-do you suppose we can go w-without one of th-those chips th-this round? M-MeleeMan's making me uneasy w-with his c-comments..."
Suien frowned, "Rass, you're not as durable as MeleeMan or Seraphim, you know," he said, "Those two can afford to be frontline fighters, but the way your body is set up prevents you from participating in combat to the extent that they do. You have to fight smart instead of strong to make up for it though." Seeing his navi's unconvinced face, he sighed. "Look, Rass, at least take the Discord with you, okay? You're not the most agile thing on two legs, so if you can confuse some of the viruses into attacking each other, I'll feel a lot better."
Rass sighed as the data was downloaded into his systems. I hate using that thing, he thought bitterly, not at all looking forward to the shrill tones of the discordant virus summon.
Oh no problem Suien! shouted an overly peppy Tem, We'll get right on that...
Tem! I've been patient up until now, but I have to ask you, what the hell is going on?! Rass cringed as Argo tore from his gemstone and appeared as a pair of angry eyes on his chest, You're so disgustingly uppity and agreeable that it makes me want to make Rass puke! Rass' eyes widened in panic at his subsystem's threat.
I don't know what you're talking about, Argo, said Tem cheekily, I'm just trying to help our core system fight in any way possible. Is that so wrong? In a flash of blue light, Tem swiftly scanned the entire battlefield, transferring green wireframe images of the viruses to Rass' memory banks.
Suien bit his lower lip, but didn't say anything. Losing control of the administrator status had doubtlessly been a blow to her ego that the manipulative subsystem wouldn't take lying down, and he knew Tem long enough to know that she was definitely up to something. At the moment, however, she didn't appear to be doing anything besides being helpful and kindly, so he couldn't exactly discipline her.
Argo, on the other hand, was livid. What do you MEAN 'is that so wrong?' I KNOW you, Tem! he shouted as his presence shifted to Rass' back, You don't support Rasshole any more than I do! What the HELL do you think you're doing? I'm not going anywhere until I get an explanation from you! With that, he swirled and disappeared into his gemstone, clearly annoyed and stubbornly protesting the tactical system's actions.
Relax, Rass, we don't need him~ remarked Tem as she thrust both arms into the air and began charging electricity into the palmbuster units. Thin coils of yellow energy snaked across Rass' fingertips as several brilliant sparklets began to rise into the sky. A split-second later, Rass' heavenly appeal was responded to by a swift bolt of lightning that crashed down into the network, showering the combatants with sparks and crystalizing the panels that it struck. Wasting no time, Rass whirled around and charged the shotgun energy into his palms, his hands first turning red as Ishamel arrived on the scene, then bright white as the glow completely enveloped them. PREPARE YOURSELF, CORE SYSTEM! shouted Ishamel gruffly as he released a blast from his right hand which tore forward, scorching blades of grass as the deadly bursts of energy streaked toward their target. Stepping back and pivoting on his left foot, he whirled in place and released the second shotgun blast, sending another powerful spray toward the damaged viruses.
His system resources nearly exhausted and his vision clouded with static, it was all Rass could do to snap his fingers, summon the tuby virus to the field, and cover his ears, protecting them from the audial assault that the discord battlechip promised to bring...

Seeing his allies taking out viruses like overloaded trash to a dumpster, while the Protagonistic navi was left with nothing but a bunch of corn to sway his time, mumbling something about being denied his righteous vengeance via greedy allies.
"The Main character should get something more.. Main charactery! Like a Doppleganger, or a boss! Or a- um.. um... " The navi ended lamely, having run out of ideas completely, the tap running dry as he sighed, then resigned to his fate of popping corn, leveling his sword-mesh-gun at the nuisances and called out the name of his newer attack, "Boom Erang!" echoed across the plain as a bullet flew from the sword-mesh-gun, seeking its targets and piercing through the crowd of corn, the navi sighing as he looked at his enemies once again, obsessing once more over just how stupid they were before moving on to his next line of attack, the usual Shot Gun.
"Shot.. Gun..." He cried out more than slightly lethargically, these things that pretended to be a legitimate enemy was not cute, it was food. When did the protagonist have to fight food? He asked himself as he sighed, firing once more before looking at his net-op helplessly, he had lost all dramatical reference for this battle, reduced to shooting a gun at food.
"Maybe if you chew on them, they'll recover some Hit Points." Erin commented sarcastically as she noticed her navi, sliding in the shotgun chip, which promptly fired, more than slightly overdue. The navi pursed his lips for a couple seconds, seriously considering the idea until he realized that the girl was truly being sarcastic, at which point he floundered for words, at the fact that a non-player-character could throw sarcasm at a player-character.
"I- I- I'll Arc Shot them!" The navi cried out nervously, bringing his weapon to bear at the virus-foes, before his net operator sighed, speaking out a bit of sense.
"There are the Melodial viruses." The female NPC mentioned, bringing a bit of useful information to the navi, who brought his weapon to bear, saying "I knew that!" Indignantly as if he had indeed, truly known that all along. The navi pondered on which attack to use, finally settling on one that would destroy at least one, or so he hoped. His operator flicked through her chips, picking out one and sliding it in, informing it as she went along, the weapon whirring with energy and waiting for the key word.
"Um. What's this, Miss Informing NPC lady?" The deludedly confused navi asked, with good reason. For once.
"It's a Ka non that does the locking on for you." The girl said briefly, going back to looking through the chips and selecting one more, sliding it in as if it were precious and that was the last chip on earth, then announced "The spell name is Mar Ka Non."
"Mar Ka Non?" The navi asked cautiously, accidentally activating the spell, which jerked the weapon up and down for a second, then spun him around in a circle, the poor navi flopping around like a ragdoll, then finally focusing on a melody and blasting out a bright yellow burst, propelling the navi backward, and Erin whispered a "spell" to her navi, being both devious, sly, sarcastic, and cruel in one action. Mostly spiteful, though.
"Mag bolt." Was the two words, which Seraphim, dizzied, repeated mindlessly, until he was dragged by his weapon at an incredible rate, his woozy feet unable to keep up, stumbling, holding onto the handle of the gun by sheer tenacity and absolutely nothing else, the main character wanted to throw up.

((It was kind of my fault we jumped the gun there, saying Eon had left, so if you need to repay damage from last turn, just have a bunch of viruses hit MeleeMan this turn.))
"Huh... you think you're special just because you made it through that assault, kid?" MeleeMan grunted, panting from the exertion of his last attack as he glared towards the last remaining BombBoy. "You-!"
"MeleeMan, shut up for a second. You're being a disgrace to your team mates," Rania scolded. Her eyebrows were arched fiercly and her eyes were almost red instead of their usual golden-brown color. "Not only do you need to apologize to Rass for earlier, but you left Seraphim completely at the mercy of those corn viruses! I'm surprised they even want to bust viruses with you."
MeleeMan gritted his teeth in anger; he was not exactly fond of criticism. "Hey, my enemy is right in front of me!" he scowled, looking back to the BombBoy virus as it tilted back and forth on its feet. "Don't nag me about teamwork right now, okay?" With another roar, he rose off of the ground, coming into almost a tackle and attempting a flaming clothesline across the face on the enemy virus with his FireHit battle chip. Flexing his arm for a moment, he ran for the melody viruses.
"You can't be so self-centered, MeleeMan. Use your own logic; in a real brawl, you could be fighting tons of hostiles at once. What would you do if nobody had your back?" Rania asked him, holding her menacing expression.
"I would... I would repel them with my fists! That's the way it works! If a man loses his pride, he has nothing!" MeleeMan replied irritably.
"Don't take pride in a fantasy, MeleeMan. You know that a navi needs all the help he can get on the net," she informed him, not mentioning that this peace of wisdom came from the "join your friends" section of the operater's manual she'd read.
"I'm not saying you're right... but I'll try to look out for them, if it will shut you up," MeleeMan replied, frowning with disdain. "Just wait until the next battle; I'll show you what teamwork is all about. First, however," he murmered, arming himself with a magnet weapon, "it's time to mop up these guys!" After drawing in an enemy Melody, he reared back his arm for an awesome punch with his magnet weapon. He then released it, clenching his fingers tightly as he did so. "Now we'll finish this! Raaah!" he roared, reaching out for the Melody's chord to tear the virus apart. "I'll grab you by your stem and pluck you like a grape!"
Following his burst of rage, he withdrew to focus on his own defense. "I'll show that fool what fighting's all about!" he thought to himself, wiping sweat off of his jaw.

((Yeah, that's also my bad, Majin. I was under the impression that Eon was taking a hiatus. You can consider my recovery technique my saving throw for him if you'd like... or punish Rass for it.))
Oh... my... god...
Rass covered his ears and gritted his teeth as the screeching discord virus continued its obnoxious song, whipping the viruses into a frenzy but doing a number on his own eardrums. He looked at the musical object he had summoned to the field with a mixture of hatred and disbelief. I swear, he thought, shaking his head as he stumbled to his feet, Suien may think that thing is useful, but HE'S not the one who has to deal with it. Rass' assumed an awkward-looking fighting position as Suien's face appeared on a nearby screen. "Rass, can you give me a status update? The discord is scrambling the sensors, so I can't get a clear bearing on the viral signatures," he asked, a concerned look on his face, "I don't really understand why that would happen, but it's probably due to the high-frequency tones that..."
"I-I'm fine," replied Rass, interrupting Suien's technobabble with a weak voice, "It l-looks like we d-deleted a few of th-them already, b-but w-we're running out of ch-chips."
“Don’t worry about chips, Rass, we’ve got plenty,” replied Suien quickly, slotting in three more chips with one hand while typing furiously with the other, “You’ve barely used a fourth of our total battlechips, and you still have Seraphim and MeleeMan to watch your back, right?”
Rass turned uneasily toward the silent pugilist and the sleeping protagonist before sighing and nodding his head reluctantly. “…just…” he began, wincing as Argo’s green presence was forced into his hand, “…s-send the chip d-data.”
What the hell, Rasshole?! demanded a very grumpy Argo as Rass lifted his right palm into the air, a giant, metallic-green curved blade forming in his fist, I thought I told you that I wasn’t helping until Tem went and explained herself! Hey, are you listening?! I told you I’m not going to help you! Argo pouted stubbornly as Rass whirled around awkwardly, stumbling as he hurled the boomerang at an odd angle without the support of his melee subsystem. The bladed projectile whirled around on its axis, spinning out of control as it veered away from the Melody viruses and into the Bombcorns. The fusion navi winced at the flawed trajectory as Argo scoffed, clearly unimpressed by the throw. “I… I meant to do that,” stammered Rass sheepishly.
IMPRESSIVE, CORE SYSTEM! shouted Ishamel in his usual loud, mechanical voice, IT APPEARS THAT YOU ARE USELESS AFTER ALL! Rass mumbled something under his breath as his left and right hands became red and blue respectively in preparation for the coming assault. Rass dearie, don’t mind Ishamel, cooed Tem, We can take care of this no problem! Rass gulped, but nodded in response as he took off toward the nearest Melody virus, brandishing a cannon in one hand and a long azure blade in the other. His feet flowed along the ground with an uncommon smoothness until he reached his target, the initial blast of the cannon knocking his left hand into the air. Turning with the rotation of the recoil, Rass brought the sword around in a luminescent arc aimed to cleave the remaining virus neatly in two. Exhaling as he stepped back, Rass was about to dive for cover behind his tuby…
…when he noticed several explosive ears of corn raining down on his comrade.
“H-hey!” he yelled, taking off toward Seraphim and holding out his arm, disengaging the sword in a burst of pink light, “W-watch out!”
What the heck is he doing? asked Tem, forgetting her sugary charade, I didn’t know he had that capability...

((Meh... hope I'm handling this right. ^^; ))
Despite the original impression, none of the Bombcorns had actually hit Seraphim, instead simply peppering the ground around him. They announced their intention with the first warning shots and began to close in on the Navi. Though with the combined power Seraphim warded off two of his oncoming attackers, another two rained shots on him: fortunately, before the strangely imposing corn viruses could do any further damage, Seraphim's ally backed him up by taking out the remaining two. Punches are thrown, shots are fired, and Melodies and their attackers go zipping across the battlefield to meet as the group comes out victorious, although the final Melody did manage to stomp on its attacker once before the finish.
A bit shaken up himself, Rass nonetheless took a moment to help out his ally yet again! Aww...~

"Ha ha! Another victory," MeleeMan laughed, sending the spoils to Rania. He gave a heavy sigh as Rania appeared unamused by his victory, keeping her arms crossed and her expression fierce. "Alright..." he groaned, walking over to Rass. "You held up well back there under attack. It was... It was very impressive! There's nothing wrong with uh... hiding... behind a rock," he phrased unelequently, trying to come up with better words, "if it's for the good of the... team's overall... strategic warfare."
"Welfare, stupid!" Rania moaned, slamming her fist down on the arm of the chair next to her. "My gosh, I hope I never have to explain myself for creating you in front of one of the operator of one of them..."
"No, see!" MeleeMan defended, rubbing Rass' helmet down against his head, "We're buddies! He knows it's cool! Now why don't we continue on, for greater glory?"
Skyrender - March 4, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
Rass groaned as MeleeMan grasped his helmet and rubbed his own against it in some strange ritual of friendship. He could swear he heard Tem snickering from within her gemstone as he struggled to transfer the emerald-green crystalline data to Suien's blank battlechip. "We're buddies! He knows it's cool! Now why don't we continue on, for greater glory?" declared a boisterous MeleeMan.
"R-right..." muttered Rass, clearly too terrified so say anything else, "F-For the g-greater glory..."
EonOmega - March 4, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
"The power of friendship gives exponential power increases in battle!" The navi declared, as he nodded, attempting to hug the two navis in a grou hug, but miserably failing as he somehow managed to trip backwards and land on his back.
"Uh, well, uh... On to greater and better things!" He declared as he began walking on, laughing nervously.

Wait, that's it? That's your plan? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!
Shut up, you green oaf! Of course it's not going to work if you let them onto it! Honestly, I don't know who's a more cumbersome ally: you, or Rass!
Heh, that's alright babe. After all, only a mere woman like you could come up with a plan that retarded!
Why you chauvanistic....
Wait, what? thought Rass, inadvertently stumbling in on his subsystems' conversation, Look, I don't know what you two are bickering about, but we've got some bigger problems to worry about! They're going to delete us! Instantly two pairs of eyes appeared on Rass' chest as Tem and Argo surveyed the battlefield. Argo's eyes seemed to widen in eager anticipation as he glared lustfully at the sword-wielding Ronins. Now *that* looks like a respectable challenge there! he announced with a grunt, Real authentic electopian-style viruses!
You're an idiot replied Tem dryly, clearly bitter from Argo's last word in the previous exchange, That technological armor is clearly anachronistic. You wouldn't know "Electopian" if it reared up and bit you in the ass. With that, the tactical subsystem went straight to work, her surgary appeasement strategies all but forgotten. Suien, I don't know if you're reading this, but I have visual confirmation of fifteen viral signatures, each reading a Hit Point value of 90 or above. she said, bathing the entire battlefield in a beautiful blue light, scanning the structure and abilities of her opponents. Given our previous record with our comrades, I believe we shouldn't have too much trouble, but it wouldn't hurt to take some defensive countermeasures before we begin our attack.
Hmph, defensive countermeasures indeed, scoffed Argo, Just like a woman to rely on such...
"No, she's right Argo," chided Suien, shuffling through his stack of battlechips and drawing four from the stack, "We have to think about the safety of our teammates as well as our own, and that means playing the support role for a little while longer. Besides, the first lessons we learned in my upper-division netbattling classes had to do with the value of defensive strategies in large scale combat." Argo said nothing, so Suien continued, "Furthermore, traditional combat methods relying on cover and tactics have been around for generations... even before the networked era! Soldiers in the ancient wars always..."
I get it, I get it, interrupted Argo grumpily, Yay defense. Go team. The melee subsystem swiftly slid into his gemstone, the patch of green streaking across Rass' body as he left.
...pussies he grumbled.
Before Rass could respond, he already felt himself being propelled forward by Tem's agile movement routines. His metallic black boots shone with a blue light as Tem displayed several trajectories on his viewfinder, overlaying the horde of viruses that lay ahead. Rass, you're going to need to deploy the windbox and the discord battlechips at a 37 degree angle from each other to maximize their effect she said, highlighting two points on Rass' viewfinder, Doing so may sufficiently disorient the viruses such that our allies will be able to pick them off easily. Unless you have any objections, I am assigning the Boomerang and Elecreel chips to Ishamel, since his targeting routines are the most developed of all of ours. Her eyes glanced upward from Rass' chest, awaiting a response.
"Oh um...." Rass began, forgetting once again that his thoughts would be sufficient to communicate with Tem, "...Y-Yeah, th-that sounds f-fine."
Tem rolled her eyes in response, but said nothing as Rass extended his arms, firing two bursts of energy at the designated targets, creating a long, silver, hornlike virus on one side, and a gigantic fan on the other. Rass landed heavily from his Tem-assisted leap, swaying slightly as a storm of gusty winds and screeching tones assailed the battlefield, aimed to whip the viruses into a chaotic confused mass. While Rass wanted nothing more than to crouch behind a large rock and cover his ears, he allowed his targeting subsystem to take over his arms, tinting them a bright red color as electrical energy began to surge from the buster units. While streaks of yellow lightning played between the fusion navi's fingers, Ishamel shouted over the chaotic noise that shook the battlefield, TARGETS CONFIRMED! EXECUTING BATTLE ROUTINES!
Rass felt his body spin twice as Ishamel unleashed his attacks. The first spin released the surge of electrical energy, several yellow bolts of lightning erupting toward the wind-swept viruses from his fingertips, sending the acrid smell of ozone through the atmosphere. Using the recoil of the blast to propel his next maneuver, Ishamel swept around in a circle, clutching the green, bladelike boomerang tightly in his hands and releasing it at the height of his second spin. The scything green blade spiraled toward his opponents as Rass steadied himself, dizzied, but otherwise unfazed by the acrobatic maneuver his body had eecuted.

"Ah, these guys are a bit more of a challenge. At least we're fighting some enemies with hands now!" MeleeMan scoffed, uncrossing his arms and getting into a stance as if he was prepared to lunge straight into the enemy group. Sure enough, he announced his intention clearly with a loud roar, drawing back his fist and rushing for the viruses.
"MeleeMan, are you a complete idiot? Not one of those enemies has less than 90 HP, and they all have quite high damage capabilities..." Rania informed him. "They're tough customers, and rushing in like that won't do you a bit of good against them. Furthermore, I haven't even had time to send you any chip data yet!"
MeleeMan sighed, tapping a finger against one of his thick biceps impatiently. "Yeah, yeah, I knew that. I was just getting tired of all your instructions all the time. One of these days I'm going to run up and take out the whole group with my bare hands! That'll show you I don't need any of your stinking aid!" MeleeMan griped.
"Really..." Rania sighed, looking hopeless as she slotted in three chips. "Here's a boomerang for the magtects; as you know by now, boomerang is extremely effective for clearing out large gatherings of electric viruses."
"I see..." MeleeMan commented dumbly, enthrolled in his ally's more complex-looking strategy. "Er, so, what should I do next? It looks like there's a few of those plants still left to take out."
"Good, you've got an advantage against them. I'll send you a MagBolt chip and a FireHit. That should be enough punching to satisfy you for a little while, right?" she asked hopefully.
"Hah! You really think so?" MeleeMan chuckled, charging towards the enemy group. Mid-run, he formed a launcher onto his arm, aiming it haphazardly towards the group of electric virii and firing out a single spinning green blade. "That should keep those bozos tied up while I go in for a... punch...!" he grunted, suddenly hearing the irritating music blare again. "God... that music really throws off a guy's concentration! It's like he's got the angle set up so it's blaring right in my eardrums!"
"Well, in his defense," Rania commented with an impatient expression, twitching one eyebrow, "you're heading straight for the viruses he's attacking."
"Hey, he should have thought about that... before he... let me get this far out... into the viruses!" MeleeMan stumbled, trying feebily to defend his course of action. "It'll work out, trust me!" he responded, overwriting his boomerang launcher for a magnet weapon. He aimed it for one of the Kilby's too draw it close, then thrust it out quickly to attempt a strike into the bamboo. "That may have been bad, but trust me..." he trailed, collecting flames around his fist, "this is going to be worse!" he announced, sweeping towards the virus with his fist lowered. He swung it upward for the virus as he reached the end of his path, then skid to a stop. As he did, smoke surrounded him in a thick wave. "Well aren't you lucky? I've got another one right here!" he laughed as fire collected back around his fist. He went in for another attack with a mighty bellow, billowing smoke in a long stream behind him as he assaulted yet another Kilby. "Soul Fist Uppercut!" he echoed, landing back on his feet, but remaining slightly exposed.
"Watch your back, MeleeMan! That smoke's not going to cover you effectively if it's all behind you!" Rania exclaimed, thinking that MeleeMan had been releasing it intentionally.
"What? Oh... darn," he muttered, not particularly caring one way or the other.

Seraphim paused, registering in his mind which ally had attacked which virus, counting off on his fingers until he had gotten to the fourth klby, nodded as he continued on his train of thought, then paused on the Ronins, his mind calculating that even if the attacks struck and defeated the things, it would not manage to kill them entirely, merely wounding to their pride. Tilting his head slightly to the side, he thought of how to do this in one fell swoop, and miserably failed.
"Um. Er..." He comented eloquently, bringing up his sword-mesh-gun cautiously as he deliberated on a strategy, then rushed forward, the sword mesh gun slipping forward and attempting to flip the kilby in the general direction of the first Ronin-type creature while crying out the name of the "spell."
"Rag Eclaw!" The navi yelled out while taking action, then speaking once again, slightly annoyingly to his allies, "At least we're not fighting a series of random bosses again and again, guys!" Seraphim said, thankful that it was only monsters repeating at this time, and not large, hard-to-take-down-series-of-uber-bosses type thing. He pointed at the kilby and the ronin and fired a seeker bullet, which seemed to have an extra burst on it, which sent him sliding a bit back, with a call of "Boom Erangaga!"
"Er... Seraphim, What's with the "aga" at the end of Erang?" The girl asked, slightly amused, but mostly puzzled. Her navi had never displayed such stupidity before, it seemed like an endless pit, you could die before you ever hit bottom. Oh, make that a black hole. Or a white one. Maybe a gray hole, because the stupidity sucked you down while vomiting up more stupidity as a constant.
"I don't know, I just thought it'd make the blast better! And it did!" The navi said happily, nodding with the easy interest of one who has found himself winning the lottery when he put in the last week's numbers. The navi brought up the gun, then considered his list of spells remaining. Shrugging, he simply yelled out the name of a skill he had used previously, and blasted his ally.
"Energize Shot!" he yelled as he blasted his ally with a shot of white, which melted into the other navi, healing wounds under the superficial protective layer of skin, curing the other navi to no small extent while Seraphim made a dramatic bow, with strange words following as an explanation.
"I have paid back my debt, honorable clericky-support man!" The words completely ruined the situation, but Seraphim, always the deluded one, just behaved in the way he thought was dramatically and what he thought was cool. Which to the regrets of noone, it was not as such, presenting the epitome of lame was not hard with his display.

Rass starts things off by summoning two of his own demi-viruses. He then fires some electricity into the virus crowd, the shock crackling through the reeds of bamboo. Then Rass's massive projectile smashes three Ronin. Meleeman then uses a boomerrang as well, which cuts down two Magtects, before the wind blows it around and flings it off into a Kilby as well. He then rushes forward, punching the two remaining Kilbies. His other target already dead, Meleeman then decides to just punch another Magtect instead (redirected for your convinience). Now Seraphim races forward, slashing at a Ronin. He then whips out a third boomerrang and lets it fly. It strikes two Ronin but as it arces towards the Kilbies, it finds Meleeman instaed, who didn't retreat after finishing the group. It grazes him. He then nails two Ronin with a shotgun. The discord puts the viruses into a frenzy. The Magtects punch, but hit nothing. The Ronins swing around, one striking its partner the other hitting Seraphim who is still in reach.

"Hrgh! Damn it, kid, you hit me with that boomerang!" MeleeMan shouted to Seraphim, feeling the cut on his arm with disdain. "Watch where you're shooting!"
"Didn't you see the way the wind was obscuring shots, MeleeMan?" Rania asked, sighing irritably. "Your boomerang left quite a few of those magnet viruses alive. The wind is pushing the projectiles slightly off their courses, and you just happened to be in the way."
"Don't give me that! When I make mistakes, you're always bugging me about them. Are you saying that nobody else makes mistakes?" MeleeMan growled.
"No, I'm saying that you didn't put enough though into that last action. You're lucky that boomerang didn't hit you harder," Rania replied unyieldingly. "At any rate, I'm going to go ahead and send you a markcannon, a heatshot, and a rageclaw. Finish off that group of Magtects, please."
"Hmph. 'Please?' So you're kissing up to me now?" MeleeMan asked with a smirk. "Fine, I'll take them out. This'll be over in two seconds!" he shouted, running towards the group as a fearsome claw overrode his right gauntlet. Grunting, he thrust out for the first one he could reach, attempting to grab it and fling it into the second. He then switched over to a standard heatshot weapon, enjoying the feel of warmth that came from the fire inside of it. He released a shot toward the second Magtect without budging, despite the weapon's recoil. With a loud upheaval of air from his chest outward through his throat, he reached out to rip one of the Champus apart with his thickly armored hands. Without even pausing to observe the effects of his attack, he brought out a Markcannon and let it do the aiming for him, firing off a single round.
"That sort of brute strength works when you have the advantage," Rania admitted, "but you're going to have to be more careful when fighting groups that are stronger than you are."
"Hah! Stronger than me?" MeleeMan retorted, thumbing his nose as he dismissed his cannon. "That'll never happen, so why worry about it?"

((blah, wanted Eon to post first but...))
Argo scowled and erupted from his gemstone as Rass’ obstacles revealed some unpleasant side effects, the wind sending a boomerang spiraling back toward Meleeman and the Discord prompting an enraged Ronin to take a cruel swipe at Seraphim. You sure blew it this time, Rasshole! he shouted, his eyes appearing on Rass’ chest and glaring upward at the fusion navi’s face, Look what you did to your teammates! See what “defensive tactics” have gotten you into? You’re not covering your teammates, you’re making them take the fall for you! Some “support navi” you are!
Rass, for his part, took a nervous step backward, horrified as he assessed the validity of Argo’s statement. “B-B-But…” he stammered, “I-I-I… I t-thought th-that T-T-Tem h-had s-s-sent the c-c-calculations…” Rass trailed off, on the verge of tears.
A swirl of blue appeared on Rass’ shoulder, Tem’s wry eyes sympathetically looking on. Rass, you didn’t follow the directions carefully, did you? she said calmly, If you had listened to me, this wouldn’t have happened. She darted forward to Rass’ front, facing the two injured combatants, It looks like they were hit pretty bad… and I don’t know if they’re going to survive… she lied. Obviously, the two navis had suffered little more than superficial wounds, but Rass was just naďve enough to take her word for it, and Suien had no way of arguing one way or another. If you really want to make up for it, then maybe you should just let Argo, Ishamel, and Me take over. We’ll make sure you don’t make any more mistak...
“N-No” replied Rass flatly,
Tem possessed no features, but her eyes betrayed her surprise as they quickly darted toward Rass’ face. What did you say?
I knew it! shouted Argo, I knew that your girly plan was an idiotic one! Tem, anyone can see that you intentionally messed with those…
Sh-Shut up Argo! hissed Tem, before calming herself and sternly addressing Rass, Er… um… Rass, don’t be silly now. Give me the system administrator status so we can…
“I-I’m going to m-make up for my mistakes!” declared Rass, straightening his body and clenching his black hands into a pair of tight fists. “S-Send me the cornshot, the sh-shotgun, and the s-sword Suien! I’m going t-to protect my friends!”
Oh *great* job Tem, looks like you’ve made or dear system administrator into a prissy little zealot, grumbled Argo, …and as usual, it’s going to end up being our responsibility to make sure the little moron doesn’t go and get himself slaughtered.
Tem said nothing as she processed and redirected the battlechip information that Suien had downloaded into their circuitry. While Rass’ right palm glowed with the familiar glow of a shotgun burst, his left began to pulsate with a strange green glow, soothing to look at, but evidently no less destructive. Rass clenched his teeth and leaped forward, charging the remaining opponents as best he could. With a loud crashing sound, dual bursts of energy tore across the landscape, exploding in a burst of light and sound on contact. The massive recoil sent the small navi flying backward in an awkward backflip as he landed flat on his face and skidded along the ground. Hoisting himself to his feet, he began to charge his sword with the same pink energy as before…
What the hell? There’s that energy again! What does Rasshole think he’s doing…? scowled Argo.

Seraphim winced as his boomerang scratched Meleeman, and let out a sigh, looking around at the final enemies as he indignantly raised his weapon at the Ronins, remembering that they were the ones that had attacked him so cruelly, and with great gusto as well, bringing down the weapon with a smack into the ground, he hesitated for a split second, then sighed, feeling he was about to torture himself yet again. The navi scratched his head with one hand, while raising the sword-mesh gun slowly, aiming, and saying two words that were supposed to be one; "Mag Bolt."
"Oh, that? Good choice, but a little tad excessive, Seraph." Erin spoke, slotting in that chip. She grinned at her navi's antics, laughed at him when he stumbled, but she did care about him, in a roundabout way. This tactic was the best one for the job, but the way this attack worked with the navi's slim frame and the sheer power of the magbolt didn't work out for the poor navi, bordering on insanity when he tried to use it, dragging the navi along with it, instead of dragging the vius toward him. The navi didn't wait to be dragged along though, and ran up to the ronin, jabbing at the virus as if using a lance, the electrified sword-mesh-gun blazing with light as it discharged its relative energies, a pink wash glowing over the navi, and feeling recovered, the navi jumped back.
"Hm? That- Oh, Rass healed you, Seraph." Erin spoke distractedly, currently managing the chips, slotting in a couple more chips, preppin for the next assault, speaking some more, "It'd be best to use the Cannon, Seraph." She spoke, placing the remainder of the chips, which felt ridiculously small as a group, then set them down on the bed, making an attempt to draw herself up, shrugging as it failed, then watched her navi.
"Er... Thanks, Rass! Great Job!" The navi spoke, encouraging the other navi as he brought up the sword-mesh-gun and blasted at the final ronin that was left, if his other attack had hit, which he hadn't waited to confirm, being the impatient little navi he was. He yelled out the name of the spell as he blasted, namely "Ka Non!" With a roar as the blast fired, then leapt back, satisfied and ready to anticipate/dodge the opponent's attack, if the attack was nulled against the foe.

AimMan - March 12, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
"Well guys, it's been fun," MeleeMan commented with a feeling of self importance, turning to his comrades, "but I've got an event to get to. It's the Planeswalker Event; I hear some groups have already started. I can't wait to test my meddle against a real challenge!"
"Hey MeleeMan, you do know your partners for the event, right?" Rania asked, tapping her finger on the armrest of the bench. It seemed pretty unlikely, so she didn't put much stock into the idea.
"What, I have partners?" MeleeMan responded in the expected fashion.
"Of course. You'll be working with Rass and a navi named TriggerMan, whom I believe you saw back at the event in Sharo. You and Rass are already well acquainted, so you should get along fine. This other guy though... he's got a tough shell. He won't be so easy to get chummy with," Rani informed him, reaching into her memory to recall the features of the gunslinger navi. "Who knows, maybe he's a bit like me?"
"My age is over. It's a lonely existance; few but I understand what it means to be a warrior. Rass and Seraphim, however, have the potential to become great fighters like I am," MeleeMan commented, trying to sound serious but failing due to his obvious egotism.
Rania sighed, then smiled. "Well, I guess it's good that you can make friends if you just work with people for a while. I could never make friends with you in real life, MeleeMan. You're just too difficult."
"What? You don't think we're sort of similar, you and I?" MeleeMan smirked, then broke into laughter. "That's what you were hoping I'd say, wasn't it?"
Rania blushed and turned her head to the side, still a poor liar. "Okay, you've got me there. I'm moving to the Colosseum, so I'll jack you in there."
MeleeMan nodded, maintaining a smug smile. "Rass, I'll look forward to fighting alongside you again soon," he nodded to Rass. "Seraphim, take care. Never lose the fire that burns deep within you... because one day, it shall build to become a grand nova, as mine is!" he informed Seraphim, his voice quivering with emotion as he drawled off another concieted line. "Until our paths cross once more..."
With that, MeleeMan logged off the net. His first adventure had been an enterprising one; one truly worthy of a warrior.

Rass smiled meekly as he waved to a departing MeleeMan. Working alongside the massive brawler hadn't been nearly as... well, painful as he had originally believed, but seeing the puglist engage in battle never ceased to frighten him. On more than one occasion, MeleeMan seemed to indiscriminately unleash a series of explosively powerful blows with little regard to what... or who... was around him. Rass stopped waving and sighed in relief, no longer stressed out about a stray punch from those smoking gray gauntlets connecting with his face...
...until the massive navi paused and asked, "I have partners?" Curious, Rass leaned in closer in an attempt to discern what it was the two were talking about.
"Of course. You'll be working with Rass... he's got a tough shell... maybe he..."
Rass, do you think you can do something about that data you're holding? It looks like it's functional power lies far beyond any of the other battlechips that we have in our folder and I believe that Suien would love to analyze it. interrupted an impatient Tem. Rass fumbled the emerald-green data in his palms before apologizing to his netOp and disappating it in a flash of light. Hmph... that's better. said Tem cooly, retreating back into her gemstone as Rass turned around...
...and found himself face-to-chest with the massive puglist. "Rass, I'll look forward to fighting alongside you again soon," he said with a smile.
Rass whirled around and contacted his netOp. "S-S-Suien, what's this about?" he asked quickly, "M-MeleeMan says that w-we're going to be w-working together?"
"Huh?" asked a perplexed Suien, who had just finished downloading the battlechip data and placing it neatly in his chip folder, "Oh, that. Yeah, I signed you up for the Planeswalker event in the NetColosseum a little while ago and lo and behold, they paired you up with MeleeMan! I'll have to purchase a few upgrades first, but we're heading straight over there as soon as we can. Aren't you glad you're going to be working with you friend again?"
Rass said nothing, gulping nervously as he shot skyward in a burst of black light.

"M-My allies! My party!" The not-so Seraphic navi collapsed to the ground, raising a fist.
"I won't give up without them, they're within my heart! I'll persevere and go on!" Seraphim cried out as he stood, making a dramatic pose, then began walking further into yumland as his operator made a weak facepalm.

In the middle of Seraphim's emo scene, he is interrupted by a small flight of floating lights. They look like floating orbs filled with electricity, crackling with power and pulsating blue, darting about as if trying to determine whether Serahim is a threat or not. They are led by a strange little cloud of luminescent blue smoke...
EonOmega - March 13, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
Seraphim looked at the viruses, his head tilted to the side as he rose to his feet. Something seemed to be wrong with Erin, and asked her a question dealing with this, as he surveyed the viruses, wondering what exactly she was doing.
"Erin, is everything alright?" The navi asked curiously, reasoning that something could be wrong with his operator as he backed away from the viruses slowly, ready to "Run" from them, although the move itself might even fail, he'd be ready anyway.
"No, I'm just checking this new program out. And installing a couple things into it for fun. Here, I'll let you test it out." The girl said, hitting the "Run" command for that particular program, setting an insidious change into place. Seraphim noticed the change first, naturally, a small chain necklace appearing around his neck, a small white orb dangling from it. With a flash of light, the orb suddenly glistened with multiple lights, the colors ever shifting, one to another, one to another, changing in light as the navi looked at the orb, flicking it with his fingernails as more changes took place, data on his arms changing, a gauntlet disappearing, the right handed one growing and becoming concealing of the lower arm, the costume of Seraphim.exe altering altogether as the navi looked at these changed, not even noticing as some of his hair suddenly grew out, becoming extremely spikey, looking at the gauntlet as suddenly, he was assaulted by a hail of strange voices, which seemed to appear in his mind, one after another, a barrage of nonsense which pealed over each and every other voice.
"Use the combo on them, Use it now! Use Down Left Right Up B A! It'll defeat them in a flash! You could also use Down Left B, if that's too… 'complex' for you, Seraphailure…" An arrogant voice rang out, above others, causing Seraphim to bend over, clutching his head, letting go of the small orb. What was this? The navi didn't know what to do, what was happening…
" Welcome to the world of monster battling, Seraphim you'll be targeting these viruses, heading for the Energyballs first, or possibly the Will o' the wisp, that is, if you can aim properly. Do you know how to aim? To do so, you must position your "sword-mesh-gun", letting my targeting do the work, then fire your weapon in their direction, finding that, you may continue after this has been completed." A higher voice rang out, obviously female. It made obvious comments, making the navi, already puzzled, collapse to his knees while pressing on his head. Maybe it was a cutscene? Maybe he was dreaming?
" HEADSHOT NECESSARY TO DEFEAT ENEMIES. STRAFE SKILLZ ALSO NECESSARY. BUY GRENADE LATER, FOOL. GO GO GO!" This voice made Seraphim just collapse, removing his hands from his head to use them to keep himself even slightly up, looking around wildly for the source of the voices, his eyes wide with panic before a glaze seemed to pass over his eyes for a slight instant, and then a cold hardening of his features, as if everything seemed older to him, as if he had had multiple tragic instances occur to him.
"Seraphim, I have reviewed their Hit point values, but the wisp has deceptively low hit points. It is best to think that it is instead a not so frontal-assault, which can be accomplished by stepping sideways and hitting the reaction command, which will allow you to evade their attacks while launching some attacks of your own. This will-“ The female voice was abruptly cut off by the coarse arrogant one, which made a quite sexist comment, then resorted to making comments of strategy.
“Shut it, woman! You don’t know anything about the power of combos! We can rack up a 43 hit easily on these guys, and definitely a Mortality!” The voice in the new Seraphim’s mind yelled out, contradicting the other voice, and a angry presence seemed to exude from the female voice, who didn’t make a further comment, but the navi did.
“That’s enough. Get yourself in gear, Argo. Tem, you shut up for once. Ishmael, what’s necessary to take down these things?” The changed navi striding toward the viruses, pointing the sword-mesh-gun at them as he slowly reviewed his options. They weren’t many, but he’d be able to master these options and destroy the foe, even if it was one by one.
“AIM CAREFULLY, SHOTGUN NOOB.” The voice pointed out to the navi, giving a slightly important piece of information which Seraphim processed, as the other two personalities impotently raged.
“ What the hell do you mean, Seraphailure? You can’t beat them without me! You need my moves! Without me you can only use simple combos like B B B! ” The voice shouted out, causing Seraphim to just glare into space, mostly at the viruses as he pulled to the side, viewing the viruses like one would view that of a simple amount of enemies to defeat, then pulled up the weapon and blasted at the foes, with the simple words “Shot gun,” Flowing from his mouth, he then endured a bit of Tem’s opinion.
“It would be best to follow the badly planned shot gun attack with a Boom Erang, as it might be able to end their threat here and now.” The voice announced, as Seraphim considered this option once more, waiting for a second opinion as he raised the weapon once more, carefully taking aim at the group of viruses as Ishmael spoke his opinion briefly.
“USE HAX.” was the only words he could get from Ishmael. Seraphim nodded and blasted the weapon, a whisper of “Boom Erang” echoing from his lips as he withdrew from his furious attack on the enemy, and retreated slightly to a less violent spot on the battlefield, bobbing slightly as he waited for the enemy and their attack, Argo raging in his mind, all but ignored now, while Ishmael and Tem stayed relatively silent, Tem referring to multiple sources of data that he could use to deal more damage to his foes and such.

Two energyballs fall to the boomerang, but as the Wisp comes up, the shotgun blasts it, but it presses it'self into Seraphims body, adding yet another personal demon ^^ As he tries to dodge the energyballs, his body locks up, shocking him!
