Call it another Dimension, different Universe, whatever you wish, but the scientific and every-day definition of Terminus is the Lost World. Though not many of its inhabitants know it, this place is an island drifting through time and space itself. It has no anchor to true reality, and might, itself, be an impossibility of science. However, there are many of these Lost Worlds out there, separated from the true Universes, most of them having only one door with which to associate itself to a real Universe. Some, are not so lucky, and have none.
Fortunately, there is one hole in the fabric of space that allows the planet Earth to be connected to Terminus. This wormhole, as most scientists would call it, is located in the Bermuda Triangle. Or, rather, right on the edge. This hole, when entered exactly right, will immediately cut the unwilling traveler straight through time and space in a little shortcut to Terminus. It is the source of many mystery of the seemingly harmless triangle of islands. Because of this, you might think it is rather large and easy to enter. That would be quite a fallacy to utter. In fact, very few people ever truly make it through. Most people who become lost or see things are actually just a victim to the vast energy this wormhole creates, messing with their brainwaves and making them hallucinate. Those who do accidentally fall upon the door never make it to Terminus--they die in the process or are lost in the very essence of time and space (virtually dead.) Some miss their mark just the slightest and are rebounded back, left dazed and confused and perhaps with odd visions or a “funny feeling.” This wormhole is, actually, unknown to those on both sides of it, and just as hard (if not harder) to find on Terminus. If one did manage to make it through to this Lost World, though, what exactly would they find?Shattered ReflectionsThis is an RP where you get to RP various species on the mysterious island of Terminus, surrounded by the eternal mountains and forever sea. It is a kingdom with semi-medieval technology--a mix of modern and old. There is no knowledge of Earth on the island, for even though it is connected to this planet by the wormhole, there have been no documented cases of a human falling through into Terminus. In fact, the inhabitants don't even know about the portal. They are not interested in outside worlds, but rather the turmoil of their own. Power is an issue on Terminus; who rules, who makes decisions, and which species is in power. It is an almost segregated world, with certain species discriminated against and put on the bottom; in ways, it is primitive, but in other ways their magic certainly surpasses our science. Why don't you come to see your
shattered reflections?
