Well I had no intent of bringing a 5th bunny into my home but it seems fate had different ideas. I went into Campus to study on Saturday, while I was there I overheard a group of people joking and laughing about the bunny they let loose on Campus. They claimed that bunnies were boring and that the landlord didn’t allow pets so they let her loose. Well I sat and listened to their conversation until one of them mentioned where they let her loose, so I packed up my books and went searching for her. I was extremely lucky to find her in the general area where they left her. There was a cardboard box that I assume they left for her that she was still using as shelter but she was off a few yards grazing. At this point I had no idea how to catch her, so I slowly walked up to her and much to my surprise she didn’t run, she just let me pick her up.
I walked back to my car and placed her on my car floor. I didn’t have a carrier so I just hoped she wouldn’t chew on anything important on the way home. She was really good the whole trip but getting her out from under my passenger seat was a bit of a problem, lol. When I got her home, I checked her over and she had some mats on around her tail (she’s a teddy Lionhead). I trimmed about a handful of mats off and then continued to check her over. I got a big shock when I flipped her over – her belly is shaved and she has an incision from what I believe was a spay surgery and based on the looks of it, no more than a week ago. I haven’t yet been able to rationalize why they would spay her and then let her go, but at any rate I am glad she is in my hands now.
So that now brings my grand total to 5 bunnies. Oh and by the way, her name is Mia because when she is out of her cage, the second I turn my back, she goes missing in action, LOL.
